Existing methods of measuring partial discharge of cable joints need to change the inherent structure of the joints, or the measurement sensitivity is low. In this paper, based on the principle of ...capacitive coupling, a method for partial discharge measurement of straight cable joint is proposed, and the corresponding measurement system is established. After the efficiency of the measurement method is proved by the computer simulation, a laboratory test is carried out to investigate its performance. In a real 35kV straight cable joint, a spike defect is preset and contrast test of partial discharge is carried out. The test result shows that the sensitivity of the straight cable joint PD measurement system is better than 10pC. And the phase resolved partial discharge patterns similarity of the proposed measurement system with the DST-4 partial discharge detector is as high as 0.9. Thus, the experiment demonstrates the validity of the method. The proposed method has the advantages of high measurement sensitivity, strong anti - interference ability and simple structure of the sensor compared with the existing measurement method without undermining the inherent structure of the cable joint.

Flexible lithium–air batteries have attracted much attentions recently due to its relatively high theoretical energy density, which is a promising candidate implanted in wearable electronic devices. ...Various type of flexible lithium–air batteries have been developed including flexible planar battery, cable–type battery, woven–type battery pack and battery array pack, recently. Though viable configurations of flexible lithium–air batteries have been proposed, challenges from poor electrochemical performances, safety issues and low practical energy density, still exist.
The successful development of Li-O2 battery technology depends on developing a stable and efficient cathode. As an important step toward this goal, for the first time, we report the development of ...CeO2 nanoparticles modified NiCo2O4 nanowire arrays（NWAs） grown on the carbon textiles as a new carbon-free and binder-free cathode system. In this study, the Li-O2 battery with the CeO2@NiCo2O4 NWAs has exhibited much reduced overpotentials, a high discharge capacity, an improved cycling stability,outperforming the Li-O2 battery with NiCo2O4 NWAs. These improvements can be attributed to both the tailored morphology of discharge product and improved oxygen reduction reaction（ORR） and oxygen evolution reaction（OER） activity after CeO2 NPs deposition. To a considerable extent, this idea of cathode construction including structure design and composition optimization can provide guidance for further researches in developing more powerful cathode for Li-O2 battery.

This paper presents a method for detecting bird nests on the equipments of electric transmission lines by aerial images. Firstly, an input color aerial image is transformed from the RGB space to the ...HSV space, and then bird nests can be segmented roughly from the aerial images by the K-means clustering algorithm. After that, some noises are removed by morphological filtering operations. Finally, the location of the bird nests in aerial images can be obtained by judging the shapes of the connected regions. Experiments show that this method is effective and can be applied to the helicopter patrol inspection system.
