The topic of the study is to ask several questions that ask about the situation of contemporary literary criticism. The context of literary criticism of the 19th century is also used to analyze the ...current state, only sketched in this study, again only in selected texts. The purpose is to seek answers to the relationship between literary criticism and literary science. The author of the study asks whether there are professional meetings that are based on critical work. In his opinion, one such meeting is the annual meeting in¬Olomouc called ”Price Balance“.
The aim of the study is to outline the characteristics of the work of J. E. Frič. His work is a significant example of the Moravian Christian underground and combines religious themes and those based ...on the tradition of ”beat generation“. Another aim of the study is to remind the importance of the meeting ”Price Balance“, which allows to professionally analyze and describe those forms of literary work and such personalities that are not in the center of todayʼs research interest. These personalities also represent an essential component of Czech literature.
The aim of the study is to analyse literary work by Bohumil Hrabal. The author starts with the interpretation of Bohumil Hrabal’s poetry. He states that it was Hrabal’s poetry that had moved his ...point of view on literature. Hrabal realized that after two global catastrophes of World War I and World War II there was no reason to produce literature without changing its status. He formulated (in his literary work, of course) this new status using the phenomenon of involvement. This led him to create a world of prose full of specific human speech that the narrator does not commenton but only tells. The author of the study used for his analyses Hrabal’s early literary work written in 40s and 50s of the 20th century. Among the best of them are Kain, an existential short story, Jarmilka, a documentary, Bambino di Praga and Krásná Poldi, both epic poems.
The author of this study tries to outline the problem of regionalism as a structural aspect in Czech literature. He has chosen two authors and their novels, Jan Kobzáň's U počátků vod and Vaculík's ...Sekyra. The specific structural elements that he analyses were used in different ways by Kobzáň and Vaculík. The former tried to find his roots in the folklore of the people who lived in Wallachia. The latter tried to define his own personal history by exploring the life of his father. Both came to the same conclusion: the life of each of us is defined by the landscape that we live in.
