Rad obuhvaća područje liberalizacije europskog plinskog sektora i tržišta s aspekta njegovog budućeg razvoja. Kako je cilj europske energetske politike osigurati održivu, konkurentnu i sigurnu ...opskrbu energijom svojim potrošačima, europski plinski sektor uvjetovan je direktivama koje treba ispoštovati kako bi se taj cilj i ostvario. Prednost plina nad drugim energentima je u njegovoj ekološkoj čistoći pa je njegova konkurentnost na energetskom tržištu neupitna. U tom pogledu, europski plinski sektor osigurava kompetitivnost na tržištu energije EU. Naime, vitalnost unutarnjeg tržišta vrlo je značajna za konkurentnost Europe, budući da doprinosi povećanju investicija u infrastrukturu, kao svojevrsnoj potpori sigurnoj i efikasnoj opskrbi te uslugama na tržištu energije. U takvim uvjetima ekološki aspekti nisu nimalo zanemareni, štoviše, osiguravaju se i štite odgovarajućim instrumentima tržišta. Rad analizira recentne promjene u strukturi ponude i potražnje plina te posljedice vezane za poboljšanje konkurentnosti na plinskom tržištu EU. Analizira također ulogu rasta potražnje za plinom, zatim oporezivanje proizvodnje i trgovine plinom, ali i zavisnost europskog plinskog sektora o inozemnim dobavljačima. Liberalizacija tržišta plina vrlo je važno sredstvo za razvoj europskog gospodarstva u pravcu bolje učinkovitosti i konkurentnosti na rastućem globalnom tržištu. Implementacija europskih direktiva o plinu može sagledati kao finalni korak Europske unije ka ostvarenju unutarnjeg plinskog tržišta. Glavni cilj je unaprijediti rastuću konkurentnost na tržištu prirodnog plina te reducirati njegovu cijenu za sve potrošače i time povećati konkurentnost energetski intenzivnih europskih industrija i ekonomija. Pritom rad razmatra izglede za većom potrošnjom prirodnog plina te buduće trendove europskog plinskog tržišta do 2030. godine, pod pretpostavkom da učinci liberalizacije mogu poboljšati funkcioniranje plinskog tržišta te tako doprinijeti većem smanjenju porasta cijene plina.
Proces liberalizacije međunarodne razmjene, popraćen brojnim rundama pregovora u okviru GATT-a i Svjetske trgovinske organizacije, dio je plana globalizacije trgovinskog sustava s ciljem obaranja ...svih prepreka koje ograničavaju konkurentnost i slobodni protok dobara, pa time i globalni ekonomski rast. Razmjena poljoprivrednih proizvoda jedan je od brojnih čimbenika koji mogu utjecati na ekonomski rast gospodarstva, ali se kao takav u uvjetima munjevitog tehnološkog napretka često zanemaruje, posebno na globalnoj razini. U tom pogledu, svrha ovoga rada sastoji se u davanju odgovora na slijedeće pitanje: da li se i u kojoj mjeri međunarodna razmjena poljoprivrednih proizvoda može smatrati relevantnim čimbenikom rasta svjetskog gospodarstva? Dovođenjem ovih dviju varijabli u funkcijski odnos, a na temelju neprekinutog vremenskog niza podataka i uz korištenje LSM-metode te isključivo statističkih, odnosno ekonometrijskih kriterija, pristupilo se testiranju postavljenog modela. Rezultati analize pokazali su da međunarodna razmjena poljoprivrednih proizvoda nije relevantan čimbenik globalnog ekonomskog rasta, ali da u određenoj mjeri ipak ostvaruje utjecaj.
The paper summarizes liberalization and EU gas market opening along with its prospects and forecasts. In order to establish a single European gas market, EU Directives must be observed. Furthermore, ...the objective of Europe's energy policy is the provision of sustainable, secure and competitive energy to European consumers. The paper also contains an analysis of the recent changes in the structure of gas demand and supply and its consequences for enhancing the competition in the EU gas market. It discusses the role of growing gas demand, taxation of gas production and trade along with the dependency of the EU gas sector. Moreover, this paper discusses prospects for increased consumption of natural gas and future trends of the European gas market within the European Union up to 2030, presuming that the liberalization effects can provide positive results on functioning of the European Gas Sector and thus contribute to a much lower increase in gas prices.

Liberalisation of the world's agriculture, which has been initiated by the World Trade Organisation some 50 years after the exclusion of the agriculture from the GATT's agreement, is going ahead at ...the new millennium turn in order to ensure efficient allocation of resources within the global agricultural sector, assuming that this will foster the growth of global economic prosperity. Consequently, the paper aims to give a scientific founded answer to the following question: Was it reasonable to enter the agriculture liberalisation process half a century after the agricultural GATT's exclusion? Respecting the available time series of data, which comprise all the interested periods of time, from the GATT's agricultural "resting" time till the entering into force of the Uruguay Round Agricultural Agreement (URAA), it was proceeded with testing the relationship between the movements of the world's agricultural trade and the economic growth at the global level, by use of regression model and the LSM-method. The research results showed that the initiation of the global agricultural liberalisation was a reasonable action, which contributes to the growth of the global economic prosperity. Pred sam prijelaz u novi milenij te nakon pola stoljeća mirovanja, liberalizacija svjetske poljoprivrede pokrenuta je pod okriljem Svjetske trgovinske organizacije s ciljem osiguranja djelotvornije ...alokacije resursa u sektoru poljoprivrede, pod pretpostavkom da će to doprinijeti povećanju globalnog ekonomskog prosperiteta. Postavlja se stoga pitanje da li je nakon 50 godina izuzeća poljoprivrednih proizvoda iz GATT-ovog sporazuma uistinu bilo opravdano ući u proces liberalizacije svjetske poljoprivrede? Kako bi se dao znanstveno utemeljeni odgovor na ovo pitanje, pristupilo se testiranju odnosa između kretanja svjetske poljoprivredne trgovine i ekonomskog rasta na globalnoj razini, uz korištenje regresijskog modela i metode najmanjih kvadrata. U tu svrhu korišten je polustoljetni vremenski niz podataka kojim je obuhvaćeno razdoblje "mirovanja" tijekom važenja GATT-ovog sporazuma, kao i razdoblje "pokretanja" tijekom stupanja na snagu Sporazuma o poljoprivredi (URAA). Rezultati istraživanja ukazali su na utemeljenost pokretanja globalnog procesa liberalizacije poljoprivrednog sektora, koji bi u konačnici trebao doprinijeti povećanju globalnog ekonomskog prosperiteta.
Objective: To corroborate the result of postlaryngectomy olfactory rehabilitation evaluating the efficacy of the Polite Yawning Technique (PYT) with rhinomanometry and odours with the Smell diskettes ...Olfaction test (SDOT). Materials and methods: Thirty-two laryngectomised patients were subjected to olfactory rehabilitation consisting of 15-minute training and independent exercising for two weeks. The sense of smell and nasal airflow in laryngectomised patients were examined before and after implementation of PYT. Results: The differences in SDOT results prior to and after introduction of PYT were statistically significant, most patients achieving better results after rehabilitation. A significant positive correlation was obtained in results of SDOT and rhinomanometry prior to and after introduction of PYT. The results of measurements after rehabilitation showed that 75% of patients had improved nasal breathing, 78% of patients had a better sense of smell and 40% of patients became normosmic. Conclusions: PYT has proved to be an effective method in olfaction rehabilitation following total laryngectomy. Using rhinomanometry, evaluation of the rehabilitation success is substantiated while the technique is simplified.
