The objective of this work is to evaluate the impact of corporate social performance measurement on social change with regard to their typologies, in order to build a model for promoting both. To ...achieve this objective, structural equation modeling is used with the maximum likelihood method and a confirmatory analysis. This modeling is supported by optimal scaling and stability analysis. The findings show that hidden costs via latent variable "Social and Hidden Cost Accounting" is the most significant cause of social change (latent variable) whose most significant typology is its nature, which distinguishes situational change from structural change. They also reveal that the model proposed can be applied in other places and to any other variables with modalities related to social performance and social change. The originality of this work is to analyze the impact of social performance measurement on social change in terms of their typologies via structural equation modeling, while such analysis is underexplored in the social sciences. Also, the model proposed is a novelty for measuring corporate social performance and promoting social change.
PurposeThis work aims to establish the relationship between painting art and sustainability, which allows for highlighting implications likely to improve sustainability for humanity's ...welfare.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve this objective, painting art is measured by a composite index aggregating the quantity and quality represented by the market value. As for sustainable development, it is represented by a composite index comprising three variables: the climate change performance index (ecological dimension), the wage index reflecting distributive justice (social dimension) and the gross domestic product (economic dimension). The composite indices were determined through adjusted data envelopment analysis. In addition, two other methods are used in this work: correlation analysis and a neural network method. These methods are applied to data from 2007 to 2021 across the world.FindingsThe correlation method highlighted a perfect positive correlation between painting art and sustainability. As for the neural network method, it revealed that the quality of painting has the greatest impact on sustainability. The neural network method also showed that the most positively impacted variable of sustainability by painting art is the social variable, with a pseudo-probability of 0.90.Originality/valueThe relationship between painting art and sustainability is underexplored, in particular in terms of statistical analysis. Therefore, this research intends to fill this gap. Purpose
This study aims to highlight the negative effects of innovation with regard to innovation typologies and human, organizational, economic and societal variables in local authorities.
...Design/methodology/approach
To achieve the above objective, radial basis function, based on Softmax activation function, and partitioning variable, is applied on a sample of Moroccan local authorities.
Findings
The findings show that the typologies of innovation that significantly impact the aforementioned variables are standard innovation/tailor-made innovation, social innovation/commercial innovation and incremental innovation/breakthrough innovation. They also reveal that the modalities considerably impacted by innovation are deviance in reaction, procedural injustice, increase of hidden costs and negative effect on ethics-culture.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is original in that it can contribute to the research in the field of innovation, as it deals with its negative effects in terms of typologies, which are rarely processed in innovation research. Additionally, to overcome these negative effects, this work uses neural networks that are very scarcely used in such studies on innovation.
Purpose
This study aims to carry out a critical analysis of the methods used to deal with the regulatory impact assessment while proposing an alternative method to overcome some of the drawbacks of ...the aforementioned methods.
Design/methodology/approach
To achieve the objective of this work, the methods currently used in regulatory impact analysis are presented by highlighting their scope and the problems they may pose during their applications. After that, the adjusted variant of radial measure is suggested as an alternative method to the aforementioned methods while showing its relevance with regard to other methods using pertinent criteria. Finally, for concretization, a case study related to the sanctions against Russia after its invasion of Ukraine is presented.
Findings
The findings show that regulations related to the sanctions against Russia are good enough, with a score of 0.846. However, this score is less good in several countries like Germany (0.671), Italy (0.677) and France (0.745) and in the poorest countries.
Originality/value
The originality of this work resides in using a novel method in the regulatory impact analysis field, which is adjusted variant of radial measure. This method increases the effectiveness of the regulatory impact assessment.
This work aims to elaborate a governance composite index for research laboratories in public university. This index is composed by an indicator of responsible liberalism associating effectiveness and ...ethics, to which are added an organizational management indicator and a strategic management indicator. To achieve the above aim, several methods are used, such as adjusted data envelopment analysis and geometric mean to aggregate indicators to calculate the composite index, Vigier index to compute responsible liberalism indicator, and tools to measure the validity and the reliability of indicators. The findings show that the developed index can be applied in any context.

This work aims to highlight the factors with significant impact on efficiency of research laboratories of public university. To achieve this goal, Linear Regression is used. In order to ...scientifically determine the dependant variable of Linear Regression, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is employed. The originality of this work lies in its intermethodology, since efficiency scores, which are determined by DEA, are considered as the dependent variable of the Linear Regression. This work has research implications, since it encourages researchers to integrate the two aforementioned methods as Data Envelopment Analysis uses linear programming which could also be used by Linear Regression. Equally, this works orient laboratories towards factors which have significant impact on their efficiency to improve it. The results of this work show that doctoral theses supervision as well as laboratories ages have significant impact on their efficiency. This study concerns 21 laboratories of a public university in eastern Morocco.
Usual efficiency evaluation methods, such as Data Envelopment Analysis and Stochastic Frontier Estimation tend to calculate efficiency scores which are valid only at a given moment and for the units ...where in the sample. At most, Malmquist index determines efficiency scores for period t+1. Those drawbacks can be avoided by translating efficiency scores in terms of probabilities trough the Discriminant Analysis which enables also, to provide appropriate weightings activities of research laboratories, object of this study. In addition to Discriminant Analysis, Hierarchical Cluster Analysis is used to classify those activities into homogeneous groups, while Data Envelopment Analysis is employed to categorize laboratories in efficient and inefficient structures. This method is applied on a public university in east of Morocco. This study shows that indexed publications as well as the supported doctoral thesis or in state of supervision have the greatest impact on efficiency of the research laboratories.

It allows highlighting the most impacting variables and modalities about relationship between entrepreneurial typologies and enterprise performance in line with hidden cost approach.Findings: The findings show that the variables with significant impact on enterprise performance in terms of hidden costs are enterprise size (small business-large enterprise) and activity sector (manufacturing firm- service firm), while the performance variables most impacted are reconciliations between social-economic, structures behaviors and material-immaterial. As for the modalities with significant impact on enterprise performance in terms of hidden costs, they are small business, non-hybrid enterprise and combination of small and manufacturing firm.Originality/value: The originality of this work lies in the fact that it is scarcely treated in social sciences, insofar as it deals with a topic establishing relationship between entrepreneurship and hidden costs via the Multivariate General Linear Model. This work is also original, since it does not establish the typologies of entrepreneurship in terms of entrepreneurs as is the case with the majority of works on entrepreneurship, but presents them in terms of enterprise typologies.
This work proposes relevant ingredients to highlight the factors with significant impact on efficiency of research structures in higher education. The ingredients in question include methods and ...their implementation taking into account the choice and operationalization of factors as well as options of the retained methods. The methods employed in this work are Data Envelopment Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression. The originality of this work lies in its intermethodology, as efficiency scores which are determined by Data Envelopment Analysis are considered as the dependent variable of the Multiple Linear Regression. Its originality resides also in dealing with the Multiple Linear Regression methods that are little approached in the works which use this technique and in combining parametric and nonparametric methods. This work has social and research implications, as research structures feel that research subsidies they receive depend on their outcomes and leads them to privilege factors with great impact on their efficiency. This work has shown that to determine the factors that have a significant impact on the research structures efficiency, research activities proposed by the international research institutions and contingency factors of the research structures must be taken into account. On the other side, the regression methods used to highlight the aforementioned impact become outmoded and needed some improvements. Finally, for an appropriate measure of research activities, the ideal is to integrate Data Envelopment Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression, especially as linear programming has already been integrated in Multiple Linear Regression.

The alternative human capital evaluation method proposed is implemented via two methods: principal component analysis and discriminant analysis. The first method classifies the research laboratory ...activities in homogeneous clusters, while the second method standardizes their scores. The proposed method is sitting in the activity-based management principle, which favors physical indicators for measuring the targeted variables. It uses important concepts such as standardized target score of human capital and standardized mean difference which is usually employed in the area of meta-analysis. The proposed method has research implications as it enables to make appropriate budgetary policy within the laboratory concerned. It also has social implications in terms of distributive and procedural justice thanks to its scientific and objective nature.
