In this study, the polyphenols composition and antioxidant properties of 12 blue highland barley varieties planted on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau area were measured. The contents of the free, bound and ...total phenolic acids varied between 166.20-237.60, 170.10-240.75 and 336.29-453.94 mg of gallic acid equivalents per 100 g of dry weight (DW) blue highland barley grains, while the free and bound phenolic acids accounted for 50.09% and 49.91% of the total phenolic acids, respectively. The contents of the free, bound and total flavones varied among 20.61-25.59, 14.91-22.38 and 37.91-47.98 mg of catechin equivalents per 100 g of dry weight (DW) of blue highland barley grains, while the free and bound flavones accounted for 55.90% and 44.10% of the total flavones, respectively. The prominent phenolic compounds in the blue hulless barley grains were gallic acid, benzoic acid, syringic acid, 4-coumaric acid, naringenin, hesperidin, rutin, (+)-catechin and quercetin. Among these, protocatechuic acid, chlorogenic acid and (+)-catechin were the major phenolic compounds in the free phenolics extract. The most abundant bound phenolics were gallic acid, benzoic acid, syringic acid, 4-coumaric acid, benzoic acid, dimethoxybenzoic acid, naringenin, hesperidin, quercetin and rutin. free radical scavenging capacity was higher than 79%, and that of free phenolic (53%) to the FRAP antioxidant activity was equivalent to that of the bound phenol extract (47%). In addition, the planting environment exerts a very important influence on the polyphenol composition, content and antioxidant activity of blue highland barley. free radical scavenging capacity in the free phenolic extract, while chlorogenic acid, vanillic acid, ferulic acid and quercetin were the main contributors to the free radical scavenging capacity in the bound phenol extract. The study results show that the blue highland barley grains have rich phenolic compounds and high antioxidant activity, as well as significant varietal differences. The free and bound phenolic extracts in the blue hulless barley grains have an equivalent proportion in the total phenol, and co-exist in two forms. They can be used as a potential valuable source of natural antioxidants, and can aid in enhancing the development and daily consumption of foods relating to blue highland barley.

This paper studies the traditional target classification and recognition algorithm based on Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) feature extraction and Support Vector Machine (SVM) classification ...and applies this algorithm to distributed artificial intelligence image recognition. Due to the huge number of images, the general detection speed cannot meet the requirements. We have improved the HOG feature extraction algorithm. Using principal component analysis (PCA) to perform dimensionality reduction operations on HOG features and doing distributed artificial intelligence image recognition experiments, the results show that the image detection efficiency is slightly improved, and the detection speed is also improved. This article analyzes the reason for these changes because PCA mainly uses the useful feature information in HOG features. The parallelization processing of HOG features on graphics processing unit (GPU) is studied. GPU is used for high parallel and high-density calculations, and the calculation of HOG features is very complicated. Using GPU for parallelization of HOG features can make the calculation speed of HOG features improved. We use image experiments for the parallelized HOG feature algorithm. Experimental simulations show that the speed of distributed artificial intelligence image recognition is greatly improved. By analyzing the existing digital image recognition methods, an improved BP neural network algorithm is proposed. Under the premise of ensuring accuracy, the recognition speed of digital images is accelerated, the time required for recognition is reduced, real-time performance is guaranteed, and the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified.
In this paper, a fractional-order model of pneumatic servo system is introduced by replacing the integer-order dynamic equation with the corresponding fractional order one. Then, a fractional-order ...proportional-integer-differential (FPID) controller is optimized for the servo system using an online multivariable multiobjective genetic algorithm (MMGA). The proposed MMGA searches in five-dimensional parameter space based on Pareto rank to balance multiobjectives. In order to provide a basis for comparison, the parameters of a integer order proportional-integer-differential (IPID) controller are also optimized using the same method. The performance indices defined for comparison are the steady-state tracking accuracy and the control energy consumption. Additionally, seven other methods from the literature are compared. The experimental results obtained show that the optimized FPID controller results in a better performance than the optimized IPID controller and the other existing approaches.
We propose an optimized Clockwork Recurrent Neural Network (CW-RNN) based approach to address temporal dynamics and nonlinearity in network security situations, improving prediction accuracy and ...real-time performance. By leveraging the clock-cycle RNN, we enable the model to capture both short-term and long-term temporal features of network security situations. Additionally, we utilize the Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm to optimize the hyperparameters of the network, thus constructing an enhanced network security situation prediction model. The introduction of a clock-cycle for hidden units allows the model to learn short-term information from high-frequency update modules while retaining long-term memory from low-frequency update modules, thereby enhancing the model's ability to capture data patterns. Experimental results demonstrate that the optimized clock-cycle RNN outperforms other network models in extracting the temporal and nonlinear features of network security situations, leading to improved prediction accuracy. Furthermore, our approach has low time complexity and excellent real-time performance, ideal for monitoring large-scale network traffic in sensor networks.

Anemia is one of the many complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, the current prevalence of anemia in CKD patients in the United States is not known. Data from the National Health and ...Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2007-2008 and 2009-2010 were used to determine the prevalence of anemia in subjects with CKD. The analysis was limited to adults aged >18 who participated in both the interview and exam components of the survey. Three outcomes were assessed: the prevalence of CKD, the prevalence of anemia in subjects with CKD, and the self-reported treatment of anemia. CKD was classified into 5 stages based on the glomerular filtration rate and evidence of kidney damage, in accordance with the guidelines of the National Kidney Foundation. Anemia was defined as serum hemoglobin levels ≤12 g/dL in women and ≤13 g/dL in men. We found that an estimated 14.0% of the US adult population had CKD in 2007-2010. Anemia was twice as prevalent in people with CKD (15.4%) as in the general population (7.6%). The prevalence of anemia increased with stage of CKD, from 8.4% at stage 1 to 53.4% at stage 5. A total of 22.8% of CKD patients with anemia reported being treated for anemia within the previous 3 months-14.6% of patients at CKD stages 1-2 and 26.4% of patients at stages 3-4. These results update our knowledge of the prevalence and treatment of anemia in CKD in the United States.

Stimuli-responsive functional materials with specific properties have been garnering recent attention. Various external stimulations, such as light, mechanical or pressure, vapor, solvent or temperature, have been extensively utilized to induce physical property changes. Temperature, the most fundamental parameter, is believed to serve as an efficient stimulus for triggering luminescence changes. This thermal, stimuli-responsive luminescence change is known as luminescence thermochromism. This review focuses on the systematic developments of metal-containing crystalline luminescence thermochromic materials, which will be of interest to researchers attempting to design and develop new temperature-induced luminescence-changing materials. Additionally, focusing on crystalline materials provides direct insight into the chromic mechanisms of luminescence thermochromism, which are also discussed.

Silicon carbide (SiC) power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETS) have been applied in high-power and high-frequency converters recently. To effectively predict characteristics ...of SiC power MOSFETS in the design phase, a simple and valid model is needed. In this paper, a simple improved SiC power MOSFET behavioral model is proposed using SPICE language. Key parameters in the model are analyzed and determined in detail, including parasitic parameters of the power module, steady-state characteristic parameters, and nonlinear parasitic capacitances. The effect of negative turn-off gate drive voltage is considered and a continuously differentiable function is proposed to describe the gate-source capacitance. Experimental validation is performed under a double pulse circuit employing an N-channel power MOSFET half-bridge module CAS300M12BM2 (Cree Inc.) rated at 300 A/1200 V. The main switching dynamic characteristic parameters of the model have been compared with those of the measured results. The results show that taking gate-source capacitance as a linear value as most previous models do will cause significant turn-on deviations between experiment and simulation results, while the improved model is more accurate compared with the measured results.

Glycolipid metabolism is a ...vital energy pathway under acute hypoxic stress, and it plays a significant role in the adaptation of fish to stressful environments. In this study, we used multi-omics integrative analyses to explore the mechanisms of hypoxia adaptation in Genetically Improved Farmed Tilapia (GIFT, Oreochromis niloticus).
The 96 h median lethal hypoxia (96 h-LH50) for GIFT was determined by linear interpolation. We established control (DO: 5.00 mg/L) groups (CG) and hypoxic stress (96 h-LH50: 0.55 mg/L) groups (HG) and extracted liver tissues for high-throughput transcriptome and metabolome sequencing. A total of 581 differentially expressed (DE) genes and 93 DE metabolites were detected between the CG and the HG. Combined analyses of the transcriptome and metabolome revealed that glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and the insulin signaling pathway were down-regulated, the pentose phosphate pathway was activated, and the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids and fatty acid metabolism were up-regulated in GIFT under hypoxia stress.
The results show that lipid metabolism became the primary pathway in GIFT under acute hypoxia stress. Our findings reveal the changes in metabolites and gene expression that occur under hypoxia stress, and shed light on the regulatory pathways that function under such conditions. Ultimately, this information will be useful to devise strategies to decrease the damage caused by hypoxia stress in farmed fish.

Climate change severely impacts agricultural production, which jeopardizes food security. China is the second largest maize producer in the world and also the largest consumer of maize. Analyzing the ...impact of climate change on maize yields can provide effective guidance to national and international economics and politics. Panel models are unable to determine the group-wise heteroscedasticity, cross-sectional correlation and autocorrelation of datasets, therefore we adopted the feasible generalized least square (FGLS) model to evaluate the impact of climate change on maize yields in China from 1979–2016 and got the following results: (1) During the 1979–2016 period, increases in temperature negatively impacted the maize yield of China. For every 1°C increase in temperature, the maize yield was reduced by 5.19 kg 667 m–2 (1.7%). Precipitation increased only marginally during this time, and therefore its impact on the maize yield was negligible. For every 1 mm increase in precipitation, the maize yield increased by an insignificant amount of 0.043 kg 667 m–2 (0.014%). (2) The impacts of climate change on maize yield differ spatially, with more significant impacts experienced in southern China. In this region, a 1°C increase in temperature resulted in a 7.49 kg 667 m–2 decrease in the maize yield, while the impact of temperature on the maize yield in northern China was insignificant. For every 1 mm increase in precipitation, the maize yield increased by 0.013 kg 667 m–2 in southern China and 0.066 kg 667 m–2 in northern China. (3) The resilience of the maize crop to climate change is strong. The marginal effect of temperature in both southern and northern China during the 1990–2016 period was smaller than that for the 1979–2016 period.

Esophageal stricture is a debilitating condition that negatively impacts patients' quality of life after undergoing endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Despite its significance, this disease remains ...underexplored due to the lack of a stable animal model. Under direct visualization with choledochoscopy, we retrogradely damaged the esophageal mucosal layer through the gastrostomy to create a rat model of esophageal stricture. The development of histological defects in the mucosal layer was assessed over a 2-week period after model induction. Then the models were evaluated using X-ray barium radiography, Hematoxylin-Eosin, Masson's trichrome, Sirius red, and Victoria blue staining, multiphoton microscopic imaging. Additionally, the molecular mechanisms of esophageal stricture were explored by conducting RNA transcriptome sequencing, PCR, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence staining. We successfully established fifteen rat models of esophageal stricture by injuring the mucosal layer. In the model group, the mucosal defect initially occurs and subsequently repaired. The epithelium was absent and was plastically remodeled by collagen during the acute inflammatory phase (Day 1), proliferation phase (Day 7), anaphase of proliferation (Day 10), and plastic remodeling phase (Day 14). We observed increased expression of COL1A1, acta2, FGF, IL-1, and TGF-β1 pathway in the model group. We established a highly repeatable rat model of esophageal stricture, and our results suggest that the mucosal defect of the esophagus is a critical factor in esophageal stricture development, rather than damage to the muscularis layer. We identified Atp4b, cyp1a2, and gstk1 as potential targets for treating esophageal stricture, while the TGF-β pathway was found to play an important role in its development.
