Lead zirconate titanate (PZT)‐based piezoelectric ceramics are important functional materials for various electromechanical applications, including sensors, actuators, and transducers. High ...piezoelectric coefficient and mechanical quality factor are essential for the resonant piezoelectric application. However, since these properties are often inversely proportional, simultaneously high performances are hard to achieve, consequently, a wide range of applications are strongly restricted. In the present study, exceptionally well‐balanced performances are achieved in PZT‐based ceramics via innovative defect engineering, which involves multi‐scale coordination among defect dipole, domain‐wall density, and grain boundary. These materials are superior to many state‐of‐the‐art commercial counterparts, which can potentially satisfy high‐end requirements for advanced electromechanical applications, such as energy harvesting, structural health monitoring, robotic sensors, and actuator.
Exceptionally well‐balanced piezoelectric performances are achieved in (Pb0.92Sr0.08)(Zr0.533Ti0.443Nb0.024)O3‐xwt%Mn (abbreviated as PSZTN‐Mn) ferroelectric ceramics (d33 = 510–460 pC N−1, Qm = 614–750), which is superior to many state‐of‐the‐art commercial piezoelectric ceramics. The high performance is proposed to originate from multi‐sale coordination among defect dipoles, domain wall, and grain boundary.

Core–shell or striped heteroatomic lanthanide metal–organic framework hierarchical single crystals were obtained by liquid‐phase anisotropic epitaxial growth, maintaining identical periodic ...organization while simultaneously exhibiting spatially segregated structure. Different types of domain and orientation‐controlled multicolor photophysical models are presented, which show either visually distinguishable or visible/near infrared (NIR) emissive colors. This provides a new bottom‐up strategy toward the design of hierarchical molecular systems, offering high‐throughput and multiplexed luminescence color tunability and readability. The unique capability of combining spectroscopic coding with 3D (three‐dimensional) microscale spatial coding is established, providing potential applications in anti‐counterfeiting, color barcoding, and other types of integrated and miniaturized optoelectronic materials and devices.

By manipulation of the domain and orientation, tunable multicolor to white light emissions can be achieved. The large availability of depth sensors provides valuable complementary information for salient object detection (SOD) in RGBD images. However, due to the inherent difference between RGB and depth ...information, extracting features from the depth channel using ImageNet pre-trained backbone models and fusing them with RGB features directly are sub-optimal. In this paper, we utilize contrast prior, which used to be a dominant cue in none deep learning based SOD approaches, into CNNs-based architecture to enhance the depth information. The enhanced depth cues are further integrated with RGB features for SOD, using a novel fluid pyramid integration, which can make better use of multi-scale cross-modal features. Comprehensive experiments on 5 challenging benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of the architecture CPFP over 9 state-of-the-art alternative methods.

with a polycrystalline crystal structure was verified by means of Raman and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) measurements. Moreover, arrays of MoSe
2
-based photodetectors with different device dimension were fabricated and the photo-responses of the devices were studied. The device exhibited a fast photo-response time of 50 ms, a high on/off ratio of ~ 24 and a good photo-responsivity of 11.7 mA/W, and it is found that the effective illumination area was a critical factor for application. The work opens up an attractive approach to realize the application of wafer-scale 2D materials in integrated optoelectronic-systems.

Local hypoxia in solid tumors often results in resistance to radiotherapy （RT）, in which oxygen is an essential element for enhancing DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation. Herein, we developed ...gold@manganese dioxide （Au@MnO2） core-shell nanoparticles with a polyethylene glycol （PEG） coating as a novel radiosensitizing agent to improve RT efficacy during cancer treatment. In this Au@MnO2 nanostructure, while the gold core is a well-known RT sensitizer that interacts with X-rays to produce charged particles for improved cancer killing under RT, the MnO2 shell may trigger the decomposition of endogenous H2O2 in the tumor microenvironment to generate oxygen and overcome hypoxiaassociated RT resistance. As demonstrated by both in vitro and in vivo experiments, Au@MnO2-PEG nanoparticles acted as effective radiosensitizers to remarkably enhance cancer treatment efficacy during RT. Moreover, no obvious side effects of Au@MnO2-PEG were observed in mice. Therefore, our work presents a new type of radiosensitizer with potential for enhanced RT treatment of hypoxic tumors.

The regulatory networks between viruses and hosts have been gradually clarified with the discovery of ncRNAs, such as miRNA, lncRNA, and circRNA in cells. Thus, this paper aims to highlight the results of current multi-omics and ncRNA studies on BmNPV resistance in the silkworm, providing some references for resistant strategies in the silkworm to BmNPV.
Cyclodextrin (CD)‐based polyrotaxanes (PR) are widely used to construct high‐mechanical‐performance materials because of the high degree of conformational freedom. However, strong hydrogen bonds ...between CDs greatly limit the application of CD‐PR in the preparation of ductile neutral hydrogels. In this work, spiropyrane (SP) into α‐CD‐based PR is introduced to “visualize” the segment motion of the network in neutral water. The aggregation‐induced cohesion and critical factors for the force transmission are disclosed. This system offers a new approach for the fundamental research for the complicated topologically cross‐linked structures, which is important for the design of CD‐PR‐based biocompatible soft materials.
A chromic mechanophore is incorporated into cyclodextrin‐based polyrotaxane (CD‐PR) gels to “visualize” the microstructure evolution of CD‐PR in water. The solvent‐induced cohesion and the mechanism of force conduction are revealed. This work lays a fundamental basis for the design of highly ductile CD‐PR hydrogels, which can broaden the application of mechanically interlocked polymers in biocompatible soft materials.

As a preferred nitrogen form, ammonium (NH4+) transport via specific transporters is particularly important for the growth and development of tea plants (Camellia sinensis L.). However, our ...understanding of the functions of the AMT family in tea plants is limited. We identified and named 16 putative AMT genes according to phylogenetic analysis. All CsAMT genes were divided into three groups, distributed on 12 chromosomes with only one segmental duplication repetition. The CsAMT genes showed different expression levels in different organs, and most of them were expressed mainly in the apical buds and roots. Complementation analysis of yeast mutants showed that CsAMTs restored the uptake of NH4+. This study provides insights into the genome‐wide distribution and spatial expression of AMT genes in tea plants.

A passive optical diode effect would be useful for on-chip optical information processing but has been difficult to achieve. Using a method based on optical nonlinearity, we demonstrate a ...forward-backward transmission ratio of up to 28 decibels within telecommunication wavelengths. Our device, which uses two silicon rings 5 micrometers in radius, is passive yet maintains optical nonreciprocity for a broad range of input power levels, and it performs equally well even if the backward input power is higher than the forward input. The silicon optical diode is ultracompact and is compatible with current complementary metal-oxide semiconductor processing.
