Background
The altered long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), circular RNA (circRNA) and mRNA expression in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) after pirarubicin (THP) treatment can be a critical factor in ...the development of tumor. Here, we identify a set of lncRNA, circRNA, and mRNA that can reveal the molecular target and molecular mechanism of THP, and can be used to predict the prognostic characteristics of TNBC.
Methods
Affymetrix GeneChip sequencing was performed to determine whether lncRNA, circRNA, and mRNA were changed in MDA-MB-231 cells after THP treatment, and qRT-PCR was used to verify the accuracy of GeneChip results. Bioinformatics methods were used to analyze the differentially expressed (DE) lncRNA, circRNA and mRNA, and the co-expression network and ceRNA network were constructed. The STRING database, Kaplan–meier Mapper database, GEPIA database, and Tumor Immunity Estimation Resource were used to screen hub genes with clinical value and important significance.
Results
THP 5 μM could significantly inhibit proliferation, migration and invasion of MDA-MB-231 cells for 24 h. 1547 DE lncRNAs, 4992 DE circRNAs, and 5777 DE mRNAs were identified. The reliability of the GeneChip was verified by qRT-PCR. An mRNA-lncRNA/circRNA co-expression network was constructed based on the Pearson correlation coefficient. Finally, we established a new ceRNA network, including three circRNAs, five miRNAs, and three mRNAs. The mRNAs are associated with immune infiltration. The mRNAs and miRNAs are significantly associated with survival outcomes in TNBC.
Conclusion
The results reveal the molecular target and mechanism of THP treatment of TNBC. These ceRNA network can be used as molecular targets for the treatment of TNBC patients and as molecular biomarkers to predict patient prognosis.

Hybrid fluid-PIC simulations aimed at a better understanding of the implosion physics and the material mixing into the hot spot are described. The application of a hybrid fluid-PIC code is motivated ...by the difficulty of modeling the material mixing by the commonly used radiation hydrodynamic simulations. Hybrid fluid-PIC techniques, which treat the ions with the traditional particle-in-cell method, and electrons with a massless fluid, are more adaptable to handle the heating of DT fuel through PdV work and the material mixing near the DT ice-gas interface and ablator-fuel interface of a compressed capsule. During implosion shock convergence, significant reactant temperature separation and a noticeable amount of material mixing are observed, both of which have important consequences for estimating neutron yield and the understanding of implosions. Physical explanations for these phenomena are discussed, with the non-equilibrium effect in the hotspot and hydrodynamic instabilities at the interface as the likely explanation, respectively. The hybrid fluid-PIC method would be helpful to test the phenomenological fluid model describing the material mixing in ICF implosion.
Long-term fertilization alters soil microbiological properties and then affects the soil organic carbon (SOC) pool. However, the interrelations of SOC with biological drivers and their relative ...importance are rarely analyzed quantitatively at aggregate scale. We investigated the contribution of soil microbial biomass, diversity, and enzyme activity to C pool in soil aggregate fractions (>5 mm, 2–5 mm, 1–2 mm, 0.25–1 mm, and <0.25 mm) at topsoil (0–15 cm) from a 27-year long-term fertilization regime. Compared to CK (no fertilization management), NP (inorganic fertilization alone) decreased all of the microbial groups’ biomass, while NPS and NPM (inorganic fertilization plus the incorporation of maize straw or composted cow manure) significantly reduced this negative effect of NP on microbial biomass and increased the microbial contribution to C pool. The results show that microbial variables were significantly correlated with SOC content in >0.25 mm aggregates rather than in <0.25 mm aggregates. Fungal variables (fungal, AM biomass, and F/B ratio) and enzyme activities (BXYL and LAP) in >0.25 mm aggregates explained 21% and 2% of C, respectively. Overall, organic matter addition could contribute to higher C storage by boosting fungal community and enzyme activity rather than by changing microbial community diversity in macro-aggregates.

Mining mass data of the earth's surface deformation is a promising approach for earthquake early-warning, raising an urgent demand for developing large-scale optical fiber strainmeters. This paper presents the implementation and results of large-scale, ultrahigh-resolution, real-time multiplexed fiber Bragg grating-based Fabry-Perot interferometer (FBG-FFPI) strainmeter arrays for field observation. The Pound-Drever-Hall technique locks master and slave single-sideband lasers onto the FBG-FFPI resonance peaks for precise strain measurement. A 10-channel array was successfully utilized for field observation at Lijiang National Seismic Station, which accurately recorded over 100 earthquakes and the earth's daily tide signal. The FBG-FFPIs have a strain resolution of 4.80 pε/√Hz @ 30 Hz with a 0.22-m cavity length. A 4-channel array with a longer cavity length of 1.4 m was also established at Heqing Seismic Station, showing advantageous performances. These results demonstrate the significant potential of FBG-FFPI strainmeter arrays in providing geophysical data for earthquake early-warning and hazard mitigation.

Short-beak and dwarf syndrome (SBDS) is caused by novel goose parvovirus (NGPV) infection, which leads to farm economic losses. Our research aimed to investigate the potential of administering ...isolated lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in alleviating SBDS in ducks. Eight wild LAB strains were isolated from duck feces and their biosecurity was investigated in both duck embryo fibroblast (DEF) and live ducks. Moreover, the LAB strains exhibited no detrimental effects on bone metabolism levels and facilitated the tight junction proteins (TJPs) mRNA expression, and contributing to the mitigation of inflammation in healthy ducks. Subsequently, we conducted in vitrol and in vivo experiments to assess the impact of LAB on NGPV infection. The LAB strains significantly reduced the viral load of NGPV and downregulated the mRNA levels of pro-inflammatory factors in DEF. Additionally, LAB treatment alleviated SBDS in NGPV-infected ducks. Furthermore, LAB treatment alleviated intestinal damage, and reduced the inflammatory response, while also mitigating bone resorption in NGPV-infected ducks. In conclusion, the LAB strains isolated from duck feces have favorable biosecurity and alleviate SBDS in ducks, and the mechanism related to LAB improves intestinal barrier integrity, alleviates inflammation, and reduces bone resorption. Our study presents a novel concept for the prevention and treatment of NGPV, thereby establishing a theoretical foundation for the future development of probiotics in the prevention and treatment of NGPV.

Standard cubature Kalman filter (CKF) algorithm has some disadvantages in stochastic system control, such as low control accuracy and poor robustness. This paper proposes a stochastic system control ...method based on adaptive correction CKF algorithm. Firstly, a nonlinear time-varying discrete stochastic system model with stochastic disturbances is constructed. The control model is established by using the CKF algorithm, the covariance matrix of standard CKF is optimized by square root filter, the adaptive correction of error covariance matrix is realized by adding memory factor to the filter, and the disturbance factors in nonlinear time-varying discrete stochastic systems are eliminated by multistep feedback predictive control strategy, so as to improve the robustness of the algorithm. Simulation results show that the state estimation accuracy of the proposed adaptive cubature Kalman filter algorithm is better than that of the standard cubature Kalman filter algorithm, and the proposed adaptive correction CKF algorithm has good control accuracy and robustness in the UAV control test.

A total of 26 blaIMP-4-carrying strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae were isolated from 2009 to 2013 in a Chinese teaching hospital, and these strains can be assigned into ...multiple sequence types or allelic profiles as determined by multilocus sequence typing. Of these strains, P. aeruginosa P378 and K. pneumoniae 1220 harbor the IMP-4-encoding plasmids pP378-IMP and p1220-IMP, respectively, whose complete nucleotide sequences are determined to be genetically closely related to the IncN1-type plasmid pIMP-HZ1. pP378-IMP/p1220-IMP-like plasmids are hinted to be present in all the other blaIMP-4-carrying strains, indicating the dissemination of pIMP-HZ1-related plasmids among K. pneumoniae or P. aeruginosa of different genotypes in this hospital. pP378-IMP carries two distinct accessory resistance regions, a blaIMP-4-carrying class 1 integron In823b, and a truncated Tn3-family unit transposon ΔTn6292-3' harboring the quinolone resistance gene qnrS1. Massive fragmentation and rearrangement of these accessory genetic contents occur among p1220-IMP and IMP-HZ1 relative to pP378-IMP. blaIMP-4 is also present in the In823b remnants from p1220-IMP and IMP-HZ1, while qnrS1 is located in a Tn6292-derive fragment from pIMP-HZ1 but not found in p1220-IMP. pP378-IMP represents the first fully sequenced IncN-type plasmid from P. aeruginosa.

Organic wastes have a positive impact on soil physical and chemical properties in the agroecosystems. However, its main effects on soil organic carbon (SOC) or total organic carbon, TOC (SOC and ...coal-C) contents as well as their effects on soil physico-chemical properties are still unclear. Two types of organic wastes (maize straw and manure) were utilized in dryland affected by mining activities to quantify their relative effect on soil physico-chemical properties. Regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between the soil physical properties, SOC, and TOC as well as their respective contributions to improving these properties. Treatments included control (CK), straw (S), low manure (LM), medium manure plus straw (S-MM), and high manure plus straw (S-HM). The results showed that SOC, soil bulk density, mean weight diameter (MWD), soil total porosity, soil penetration resistance, saturated hydraulic conductivity, and soil infiltration rate were strongly influenced by the application of organic wastes. A stronger linear relationship between SOC and the MWD, (R2 = 0.93, p < 0.05) compared to that between TOC and MWD indicated the important role of SOC in improving soil aggregation relative to the effect of TOC. According to the principal component analysis (PCA), the application of organic wastes had stronger effects on SOC contents and physical properties than TOC (SOC and coal-C). These findings advance our understanding of the actual effect of organic wastes on soil physical properties and SOC in dryland affected by mining activities and could inform fertilizer management decisions to improve soil properties.
When an outbreak of COVID-19 occurs, it will cause a shortage of medical resources and the surge of demand for hospital beds. Predicting the length of stay (LOS) of COVID-19 patients is helpful to ...the overall coordination of hospital management and improves the utilization rate of medical resources. The purpose of this paper is to predict LOS for patients with COVID-19, so as to provide hospital management with auxiliary decision-making of medical resource scheduling. We collected the data of 166 COVID-19 patients in a hospital in Xinjiang from July 19, 2020, to August 26, 2020, and carried out a retrospective study. The results showed that the median LOS was 17.0 days, and the average of LOS was 18.06 days. Demographic data and clinical indicators were included as predictive variables to construct a model for predicting the LOS using gradient boosted regression trees (GBRT). The MSE, MAE and MAPE of the model are 23.84, 4.12 and 0.76 respectively. The importance of all the variables involved in the prediction of the model was analyzed, and the clinical indexes creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), C-reactive protein (CRP), creatine kinase (CK), white blood cell count (WBC) and the age of patients had a higher contribution to the LOS. We found our GBRT model can accurately predict the LOS of COVID-19 patients, which will provide good assistant decision-making for medical management.
Tunnel lighting consumes nearly 30 % of the energy in the whole infrastructure, so optimizing the lighting control strategy could significantly increase the energy utilization efficiency. However, ...there is still lack of an intelligent and cost-effective lighting control system. Here, we report a low-cost, intelligent, and self-powered tunnel lighting control system based on the mechanical-regulated and soft-contact hybridized nanogenerator (MS-HNG) as both the power supply and distributed traffic monitoring sensor. Benefited from the mechanical regulation and frequency up-conversion design, the MS-HNG can effectively convert the energy into electricity from intermittent stimulation of the moving vehicle and thus offers a maximum output power of 108 mW to transmit the traffic information wirelessly. The introducing of soft fur also endows HNG with excellent stability and durability, showing a negligible decrease in the output over 100,000 cycles. Moreover, an “illumination traveling with the vehicle” sustainable tunnel lighting system which could save energy by 72 % at a traffic volume of 20 veh/h compared with the traditional one is successfully demonstrated. This work may pave the way for industrial applications of nanogenerators and shows great potential in energy-efficient and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
