The observed correlation between the EMC effect and the contribution of short-range correlations (SRCs) in nuclei suggests that the modification of the quark distributions of bound protons and ...neutrons might occur within SRCs. This raises the possibility that the EMC effect may have an isospin dependence arising from the np dominance of SRCs. We discuss previous attempts to test this possibility and perform a new analysis of existing data. We find no experimental support for the observation of an isospin dependence of the EMC effect.

We present new measurements of electron scattering from high-momentum nucleons in nuclei. These data allow an improved determination of the strength of two-nucleon correlations for several nuclei, ...including light nuclei where clustering effects can, for the first time, be examined. The data also include the kinematic region where three-nucleon correlations are expected to dominate.

We establish conditions for the existence of solutions of boundary-value problems with control for the Fredholm integral equations with degenerate kernels in Banach spaces and determine the general ...form of these solutions. We also find the general form of control for which these solutions exist. The problem is solved by using the theory of generalized inversion of Fredholm integral operators with degenerate kernels in Banach spaces and pseudoinversion of Fredholm integral operators with degenerate kernels in finite-dimensional spaces.

The article reveals the role of automation of the main systems of petrochemical production: technological processes, security systems, information management, and electrical equipment. The purpose of ...the article is to determine the main directions of automation in the petrochemical complex. Based on the study, it is shown how industrial automation affects gross national product growth by optimizing production and logistics operations, labor efficiency, increasing equipment productivity, improving research and development and product development. For example, if the cost of reconstruction is 2-6% of the total cost of a petrochemical enterprise, the resulting effect of automation is estimated at 15-30% of the increase in operational efficiency. It is concluded that integrated control automation systems regularly design, upgrade, and provide comprehensive support for the availability of complex technical systems throughout its life cycle.
The use of information modelling technologies is spreading more and more in the construction industry. A large number of construction projects with budget financing require state expertise. The ...potential for automating the verification of structural solutions for design documentation has not been fully disclosed to date. The authors of the article analyzed the comments of the expert of the constructive department of the state expertise over the past 2 years and identified a list of the most common ones. Based on this, proposals were formulated for the formation of digital information models of the structural solutions in order to automate the processes of checking design solutions and avoid similar mistakes in the future.

One of the widely used methods of assessing the maturity of organic matter based on aromatic compounds uses indexes reflecting changes in the relative concentrations of phenanthrene and its ...methyl-substituted derivates. A set of ratios now widely used in national and international practice (MPHI, MPI-1, MPI-1mod., PP-1, and PHI) is analyzed based on data on these compounds in terrestrial organic matter (OM) recovered by Srednevilyuskaya-27 superdeep well. Equations are derived for calculating synthetic values of vitrinite reflectance based on phenanthrene maturity indexes at meso- and apocatagenesis. Data are presented on typical changes in the relative phenanthrene concentrations and its methyl-substituted derivates under high

parameters: the more stable behavior of 2-, 3-, and 1-methylphenanthrene than 9-methylphenanthrene. The relative concentrations of phenanthrene itself are demonstrated to broadly vary at apocatagenesis, and this factor deteriorates the maturity indexes of the phenanthrene ratios. It is necessary to select proper equations for various hydrocarbon systems and determine the boundaries of the transition from positive correlations between phenanthrene indexes with the vitrinite reflectance to negative ones. The obtained results are compared with the classic understanding of the problem.

The fundamental theory of the strong interaction-quantum chromodynamics (QCD)-provides the foundational framework with which to describe and understand the key properties of atomic nuclei. A deep ...understanding of the explicit role of quarks and gluons in nuclei remains elusive however, as these effects have thus far been well-disguised by confinement effects in QCD which are encapsulated by a successful description in terms of effective hadronic degrees of freedom. The observation of the EMC effect has provided an enduring indication for explicit QCD effects in nuclei, and points to the medium modification of the bound protons and neutrons in the nuclear medium. Understanding the EMC effect is a major challenge for modern nuclear physics, and several key questions remain, such as understanding its flavor, spin, and momentum dependence. This manuscript provides a contemporary snapshot of our understanding of the role of QCD in nuclei and outlines possible pathways in experiment and theory that will help deepen our understanding of nuclei in the context of QCD.
The active development of neural network technologies and optoelectronic systems has led to the introduction of computer vision technologies in various fields of science and technology. Deep learning ...made it possible to solve complex problems that a person had not been able to solve before. The use of multi-spectral optical systems has significantly expanded the field of application of video systems. Tasks such as image recognition, object re-identification, video surveillance require high accuracy, speed and reliability. These qualities are provided by algorithms based on deep convolutional neural networks. However, they require to have large databases of multi-spectral images of various objects to achieve state-of-the-art results. While large and various databases of color images of different objects are widely available in public domain, then similar databases of thermal images are either not available, or they represent a small number of types of objects. The quality of three-dimensional modeling for the thermal imaging spectral range remains at an insufficient level for solving a number of important tasks, which require high precision and reliability. The realistic synthesis of thermal images is especially important due to the complexity and high cost of obtaining real data. This paper is focused on the development of a method for synthesizing thermal imaging images based on generative adversarial neural networks. We developed an algorithm for a multi-spectral image-to-image translation. We have changed to the original GAN architecture and converted the loss function. We presented a new learning approach. For this, we prepared a special training dataset including about 2000 image tensors. The evaluation of the results obtained showed that the proposed method can be used to expand the available databases of thermal images.

New Jefferson Lab data are presented on the nuclear dependence of the inclusive cross section from (2)H, (3)He, (4)He, (9)Be and (12)C for 0.3 < x < 0.9, Q(2) approximately 3-6 GeV(2). These data ...represent the first measurement of the EMC effect for (3)He at large x and a significant improvement for (4)He. The data do not support previous A-dependent or density-dependent fits to the EMC effect and suggest that the nuclear dependence of the quark distributions may depend on the local nuclear environment.
