2-(2-Phenylethyl)chromones (PECs) are the principal constituents contributing to the distinctive fragrance of agarwood. How PECs are biosynthesized is currently unknown. In this work, we describe a ...diarylpentanoid-producing polyketide synthase (PECPS) identified from Aquilaria sinensis. Through biotransformation experiments using fluorine-labeled substrate, transient expression of PECPS in Nicotiana benthamiana, and knockdown of PECPS expression in A. sinensis calli, we demonstrate that the C

scaffold of diarylpentanoid is the common precursor of PECs, and PECPS plays a crucial role in PECs biosynthesis. Crystal structure (1.98 Å) analyses and site-directed mutagenesis reveal that, due to its small active site cavity (247 Å
), PECPS employs a one-pot formation mechanism including a "diketide-CoA intermediate-released" step for the formation of the C

scaffold. The identification of PECPS, the pivotal enzyme of PECs biosynthesis, provides insight into not only the feasibility of overproduction of pharmaceutically important PECs using metabolic engineering approaches, but also further exploration of how agarwood is formed.
Green production of NH3, especially the Li‐mediated electrochemical N2 reduction reaction (NRR) in non‐aqueous solutions, is attracting research interest. Controversies regarding the NRR mechanism ...greatly impede its optimization and wide applications. To understand the electrocatalytic process, we treated Au coated carbon fibrous paper (Au/CP) as the model catalyst. In situ XRD confirmed the transformation of lithium intermediates during NRR. Au greatly improved electron transfer kinetics to catalyze metallic Li formation, and accordingly highly accelerated spontaneous NRR. The Faradaic efficiency of NRR on Au/CP reached 34.0 %, and NH3 yield was as high as 50 μg h−1 cm−2. Our research shows that the key step of Li‐mediated non‐aqueous NRR is electrocatalytic Li reduction and offers a novel electrocatalyst design method for Li reduction.
The key step of Li‐mediated non‐aqueous NRR is electrocatalytic Li reduction. Gold greatly improved Li adsorption energy and thus highly accelerated the domino‐like nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR).

•A magnetically coupled two-degree-of-freedom harvester for rotation is proposed.•The electromechanical coupling model is developed and validated experimentally.•The harvester can generate high ...voltage at low rotating speeds.•The harvester can harvest vibration energy in multiple frequency bands.
Energy can be harvested from rotational motion for powering wireless autonomous electronic devices. The paper presents a magnetically coupled two-degree-of-freedom vibration energy harvester for rotary motion applications. The design consists of two inverted piezoelectric cantilever beams whose free ends point to the rotating shaft. The centrifugal force of the inverted cantilever beam is beneficial to producing large amplitude in a low speed range. The electromechanical coupling dynamical model is developed by the energy method from Hamilton’s principle and validated experimentally. The experimental results indicate that the presented harvester is suitable for low speed rotation and can harvest vibration energy in multiple frequency bands. The first and second resonant behaviors of voltage can be obtained at 420 r/min and 550 r/min, and the average output powers are 564μW and 535.3μW, respectively.

Background
In pancreatic cancer, methods to predict early recurrence (ER) and identify patients at increased risk of relapse are urgently required.
Purpose
To develop a radiomic nomogram based on MR ...radiomics to stratify patients preoperatively and potentially improve clinical practice.
Study Type
Retrospective.
Population
We enrolled 303 patients from two medical centers. Patients with a disease‐free survival ≤12 months were assigned as the ER group (n = 130). Patients from the first medical center were divided into a training cohort (n = 123) and an internal validation cohort (n = 54). Patients from the second medical center were used as the external independent validation cohort (n = 126).
Field Strength/Sequence
3.0T axial T1‐weighted (T1‐w), T2‐weighted (T2‐w), contrast‐enhanced T1‐weighted (CET1‐w).
Assessment
ER was confirmed via imaging studies as MRI or CT. Risk factors, including clinical stage, CA19‐9, and radiomic‐related features of ER were assessed. In addition, to determine the intra‐ and interobserver reproducibility of radiomic features extraction, the intra‐ and interclass correlation coefficients (ICC) were calculated.
Statistical Tests
The area under the receiver‐operator characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the predictive accuracy of the radiomic signature in both the training and test groups. The results of decision curve analysis (DCA) indicated that the radiomic nomogram achieved the most net benefit.
Results
The AUC values of ER evaluation for the radiomics signature were 0.80 (training cohort), 0.81 (internal validation cohort), and 0.78 (external validation cohort). Multivariate logistic analysis identified the radiomic signature, CA19‐9 level, and clinical stage as independent parameters of ER. A radiomic nomogram was then developed incorporating the CA19‐9 level and clinical stage. The AUC values for ER risk evaluation using the radiomic nomogram were 0.87 (training cohort), 0.88 (internal validation cohort), and 0.85 (external validation cohort).
Data Conclusion
The radiomic nomogram can effectively evaluate ER risks in patients with resectable pancreatic cancer preoperatively, which could potentially improve treatment strategies and facilitate personalized therapy in pancreatic cancer.

The concept of the OOS of spacecraft can be traced back to the 1960s, when the main focus was on providing the necessary maintenance to advance the lifetime of spacecraft and extending the scale and ...function through on-orbit assembly. During the past decades, the Hubble Space Telescope has made great contributions to the fields of astronomy and physics through both observational data and the success of five OOS missions to overcome big challenges. That included an initial flaw of its primary mirror and subsequent obstacles associated with replacing and upgrading its science instruments. Furthermore, many programs have been carried out in the area of the OOS of spacecraft with successful operations in space. It could be exemplified by the assembly of the International Space Station, service verification of ETS-VII and Orbital Express, and detailed research for future applications including servicer and client satellites and particularly large space systems. This paper attempts to summarize all reported programs of the OOS in terms of engineering developments and provide an overall perspective for investigators in this field. Based on the reviewed programs, an analysis is carried out to elucidate the logical architectures of the mission and technology of the OOS of spacecraft. Further attention is paid to discussions of the enabling technologies that support the development of the OOS and related spacecraft. As an outlook, the future development and challenges of the OOS and the application of novel technologies are finally discussed to extend the present review work.

We performed the first proteogenomic characterization of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using paired tumor and adjacent liver tissues from 159 patients. Integrated ...proteogenomic analyses revealed consistency and discordance among multi-omics, activation status of key signaling pathways, and liver-specific metabolic reprogramming in HBV-related HCC. Proteomic profiling identified three subgroups associated with clinical and molecular attributes including patient survival, tumor thrombus, genetic profile, and the liver-specific proteome. These proteomic subgroups have distinct features in metabolic reprogramming, microenvironment dysregulation, cell proliferation, and potential therapeutics. Two prognostic biomarkers, PYCR2 and ADH1A, related to proteomic subgrouping and involved in HCC metabolic reprogramming, were identified. CTNNB1 and TP53 mutation-associated signaling and metabolic profiles were revealed, among which mutated CTNNB1-associated ALDOA phosphorylation was validated to promote glycolysis and cell proliferation. Our study provides a valuable resource that significantly expands the knowledge of HBV-related HCC and may eventually benefit clinical practice.

Based on the interaction of individuals, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a well-recognized algorithm to find optima in search space. In its canonical version, the trajectory of each particle is ...usually influenced by the best performer among its neighborhood, which thus ignores some useful information from other neighbors. To capture information of all the neighbors, the fully informed PSO is proposed, which, however, may bring redundant information into the search process. Motivated by both scenarios, here we present a particle swarm optimization with limited information, which provides each particle adequate information yet avoids the waste of information. By means of systematic analysis for the widely-used standard test functions, it is unveiled that our new algorithm outperforms both canonical PSO and fully informed PSO, especially for multimodal test functions. We further investigate the underlying mechanism from a microscopic point of view, revealing that moderate velocity, moderate diversity and best motion consensus facilitate a good balance between exploration and exploitation, which results in the good performance.

The in situ exsolution technique of nanoparticles has brought new opportunities for the utilization of perovskite‐based catalysts in solid oxide cells. However, the lack of control over the ...structural evolution of host perovskites during the promotion of exsolution has restricted the architectural exploitation of exsolution‐facilitated perovskites. In this study, we strategically broke the long‐standing trade‐off phenomenon between promoted exsolution and suppressed phase transition via B‐site supplement, thus broadening the scope of exsolution‐facilitated perovskite materials. Using carbon dioxide electrolysis as an illustrative case study, we demonstrate that the catalytic activity and stability of perovskites with exsolved nanoparticles (P‐eNs) can be selectively enhanced by regulating the explicit phase of host perovskites, accentuating the critical role of the architectures of perovskite scaffold in catalytic reactions occurring on P‐eNs. The concept demonstrated could potentially pave the way for designing the advanced exsolution‐facilitated P‐eNs materials and unveiling a wide range of catalytic chemistry taking place on P‐eNs.
We have implemented a set of strategies to precisely control the phase evolution of host perovskite without compromising exsolution. Using carbon dioxide electrolysis as an example, we demonstrated how regulating phase structure can enhance the activity and stability of exsolved perovskites, emphasizing the importance of phase evolution control in catalytic chemistry occurring on perovskites with exsolution.

Glutathione plays a critical role in plant growth, development and response to stress. It is a major cellular antioxidant and is involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics in many organisms, ...including plants. However, the role of glutathione-dependent redox homeostasis and associated molecular mechanisms regulating the antioxidant system and pesticide metabolism remains unclear. In this study, endogenous glutathione levels were manipulated by pharmacological treatments with glutathione synthesis inhibitors and oxidized glutathione. The application of oxidized glutathione enriched the cellular oxidation state, reduced the activity and transcript levels of antioxidant enzymes, upregulated the expression level of nitric oxide and Ca2+ related genes and the content, and increased the residue of chlorothalonil in tomato leaves. Further experiments confirmed that glutathione-induced redox homeostasis is critical for the reduction of pesticide residues. RNA sequencing analysis revealed that miRNA156 and miRNA169 that target transcription factor SQUAMOSA-Promoter Binding Proteins (SBP) and NUCLEAR FACTOR Y (NFY) potentially participate in glutathione-mediated pesticide degradation in tomato plants. Our study provides important clues for further dissection of pesticide degradation mechanisms via miRNAs in plants.

The aim of the study was to examine the associations of uric acid (UA) in blood and urine with subclinical renal damage (SRD) and its progression in a Chinese cohort.
1) 2342 participants from our ...previously established cohort who were followed up in 2017 were included. Cross-sectional analysis was used to examine the relationships between serum and urinary UA and the risk of SRD. 2) A total of 266 participants were recruited from the same cohort in 2013, and followed up in 2017. Longitudinal analysis was used to determine the relationships of serum and urinary UA with progression of SRD, which was defined as urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) progression or estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline.
In cross-sectional analysis, higher levels of uACR were associated with higher levels of serum uric acid (SUA) and urinary uric acid/creatinine ratio (uUA/Cre). Lower eGFR was associated with higher levels of SUA and fractional excretion of uric acid (FEUA) but lower uUA/Cre levels in all subjects. In addition, the multivariate-adjusted odds ratios for SRD compared with non-SRD were 3.574 (2.255-5.664) for uUA/Cre. Increasing uUA/Cre levels were associated with higher risk of SRD. In longitudinal analysis, 4-year changes of uUA/Cre and SUA were significantly associated with eGFR decline.
This study suggested that urinary UA excretion was significantly associated with the risk of SRD in Chinese adults. Furthermore, 4-year changes of serum and urinary UA were associated with SRD progression. These findings suggest that UA, especially urinary UA, may be used as a simple, noninvasive marker for early detection of decreased renal function in otherwise healthy subjects.
