Abstract
We numerically study the diffusion and scattering of cosmic rays (CRs) together with their acceleration processes in the framework of the modern understanding of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) ...turbulence. Based on the properties of compressible MHD turbulence obtained from observations and numerical experiments, we investigate the interaction of CRs with plasma modes. We find that (1) the gyroradius of particles exponentially increases with the acceleration timescale; (2) the momentum diffusion presents the power-law relationship with the gyroradius in the strong turbulence regime, and shows a plateau in the weak turbulence regime implying a stochastic acceleration process; (3) the spatial diffusion is dominated by the parallel diffusion in the sub-Alfvénic regime, while it is dominated by the perpendicular diffusion in the super-Alfvénic one; (4) as for the interaction of CRs with plasma modes, the particle acceleration is dominated by the fast mode in the high
β
case, while in the low
β
case, it is dominated by the fast and slow modes; and (5) in the presence of acceleration, magnetosonic modes still play a critical role in the diffusion and scattering processes of CRs, which is in good agreement with earlier theoretical predictions.
Abstract
This paper employs an MHD-PIC method to perform numerical simulations of magnetic-reconnection-driven turbulence and turbulent reconnection acceleration of particles. Focusing on the ...dynamics of the magnetic reconnection, the properties of self-driven turbulence, and the behavior of particle acceleration, we find the following: (1) When reaching a statistically steady state of the self-driven turbulence, the magnetic energy is almost released by 50%, while the kinetic energy of the fluid increases by no more than 15%. (2) The properties of reconnection-driven turbulence are more complex than the traditional turbulence driven by an external force. (3) The strong magnetic field tends to enhance the turbulent reconnection efficiency to accelerate particles more efficiently, resulting in a hard spectral energy distribution. Our study provides a particular perspective on understanding turbulence properties and turbulent-reconnection-accelerated particles.

Firstly, the remote control module of online teaching system is optimized, configuration parameters are improved, the remote control module is operated effectively, and the remote control rules of multimedia online teaching system are designed, which further ensures the security of remote control. According to the control rules, the remote control steps are simplified, and the optimization of remote control method for English multimedia online teaching system is finally realized. Finally, the experiment proves that the remote control method of English multimedia online teaching system in large data environment is more effective and safe than the traditional method.
Human infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and there is no cure currently. The 3CL protease (3CLpro) is a highly ...conserved protease which is indispensable for CoVs replication, and is a promising target for development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs. In this study we investigated the anti-SARS-CoV-2 potential of Shuanghuanglian preparation, a Chinese traditional patent medicine with a long history for treating respiratory tract infection in China. We showed that either the oral liquid of Shuanghuanglian, the lyophilized powder of Shuanghuanglian for injection or their bioactive components dose-dependently inhibited SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro as well as the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in Vero E6 cells. Baicalin and baicalein, two ingredients of Shuanghuanglian, were characterized as the first noncovalent, nonpeptidomimetic inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro and exhibited potent antiviral activities in a cell-based system. Remarkably, the binding mode of baicalein with SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro determined by X-ray protein crystallography was distinctly different from those of known 3CLpro inhibitors. Baicalein was productively ensconced in the core of the substrate-binding pocket by interacting with two catalytic residues, the crucial S1/S2 subsites and the oxyanion loop, acting as a "shield" in front of the catalytic dyad to effectively prevent substrate access to the catalytic dyad within the active site. Overall, this study provides an example for exploring the in vitro potency of Chinese traditional patent medicines and effectively identifying bioactive ingredients toward a specific target, and gains evidence supporting the in vivo studies of Shuanghuanglian oral liquid as well as two natural products for COVID-19 treatment.

Objective
Although accumulating evidence indicates that macrophages are central players in the destructive and reparative phases of periodontal disease, their polarization states at different stages ...of periodontal inflammation remain unclear.
Methods
We collected gingival biopsies from patients with chronic periodontitis (P group), gingivitis (G group), or periodontally healthy individuals (H group). Polarized macrophages were identified through immunofluorescence. M1‐ and M2‐related cytokines were detected by immunohistochemistry.
Results
Compared with the H group, the P group had more M1 cells (higher M1/M2 ratio) and significantly higher TNF‐α, IFN‐γ, IL‐6, and IL‐12 levels. Although the G group also exhibited higher TNF‐α and IL‐12 levels than the H group, they had similar M1/M2 ratios. The M1/M2 ratio and IFN‐γ and IL‐6 levels were significantly higher in the P than the G group. Among M2‐related cytokines, IL‐4 levels were significantly higher in the G than the H group. The M1/M2 ratio was positively correlated with clinical probing depth (PD), and both were positively correlated with IFN‐γ and IL‐6. PD was negatively correlated with IL‐4.
Conclusion
Macrophage polarization in gingival tissue may be responsible for the development and progression of inflammation‐induced tissue destruction, and modulating macrophage function may be a potential strategy for periodontal disease management.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains the most frequently diagnosed malignancy and also a major contributor to cancer-related death throughout the world. Here, we first revealed the role of ...histone lysine-specific demethylase 5D (KDM5D) in CRC in males. KDM5D expression in tumor and adjacent tissues of male CRC patients was investigated using immunohistochemistry and RT-qPCR, and the correlation between its expression and patients’ prognosis was analyzed. Downregulation of KDM5D in CRC patients was associated with poor prognoses. Overexpression of KDM5D significantly inhibited the growth and metastasis of CRC in vitro and in vivo. The downstream mechanism of KDM5D in CRC was investigated using bioinformatics analysis, and the regulatory relationship was confirmed by ChIP-qPCR and luciferase reporter assays. KDM5D suppressed E2F1 expression by mediating H3K4me3 demethylation. E2F1, highly expressed in CRC, promoted the expression of FKBP4 at the transcriptional level by binding to the FKBP4 promoter. Finally, rescue experiments revealed that overexpression of FKBP4 significantly reversed the inhibitory effect of KDM5D on CRC growth and metastasis. Collectively, KDM5D exerted an anti-tumor and anti-metastatic in CRC through demethylation in E2F1 and suppression of FKBP4 transcription, which might represent a novel target in CRC treatment in male.

The development and application of whole genome sequencing technology has greatly broadened our horizons on the capabilities of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). LncRNAs are more than 200 nucleotides ...in length and lack protein-coding potential. Increasing evidence indicates that lncRNAs exert an irreplaceable role in tumor initiation, progression, as well as metastasis, and are novel molecular biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of cancer patients. Furthermore, lncRNAs and the pathways they influence might represent promising therapeutic targets for a number of tumors. Here, we discuss the recent advances in understanding of the specific regulatory mechanisms of lncRNAs. We focused on the signal, decoy, guide, and scaffold functions of lncRNAs at the epigenetic, transcription, and post-transcription levels in cancer cells. Additionally, we summarize the research strategies used to investigate the roles of lncRNAs in tumors, including lncRNAs screening, lncRNAs characteristic analyses, functional studies, and molecular mechanisms of lncRNAs. This review will provide a short but comprehensive description of the lncRNA functions in tumor development and progression, thus accelerating the clinical implementation of lncRNAs as tumor biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
Recently, Roy et al. proposed a physically unclonable function (PUF)-based authentication and key exchange protocol for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The PUF protocol is efficient, because it ...integrates both the Node-to-Node (N2N) authentication and the Node-to-Server (N2S) authentication into a standalone protocol. In this paper, we therefore examine the security of the PUF protocol under the assumption of an insider attack. Our cryptanalysis findings are the following. (1) A legitimate but malicious IoT node can monitor the secure communication among the server and any other IoT nodes in both N2N authentication and N2S authentication. (2) A legitimate but malicious IoT node is able to impersonate a target IoT node to cheat the server and any other IoT nodes in N2N authentication and the server in N2S authentication, respectively. (3) A legitimate but malicious IoT node can masquerade as the server to cheat any other target IoT nodes in both N2N authentication and N2S authentication. To the best of our knowledge, our work gives the first non-trivial concrete security analysis for the PUF protocol. In addition, we employ the automatic verification tool of security protocols, i.e., Scyther, to confirm the weaknesses found in the PUF protocol. We finally consider how to prevent weaknesses in the PUF protocol.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) bind 5-HT transporters, leading to the accumulation of 5-HT and amelioration of depression. Although different mouse strains show varying sensitivity ...to SSRIs in mouse models of depression, the underlying mechanism of these strain differences remains unclear. Here, the SSRI citalopram dose-dependently reduced immobility time in both the FST and TST in DBA/2J mice but not C57BL/6J mice, whereas fluoxetine showed the opposite results. Paroxetine similarly reduced immobility time in both strains. The affinity of citalopram for the 5-HT transporter was 700-fold higher in DBA/2J mice than in C57BL/6J mice, whereas the affinity of fluoxetine was 100-fold higher in C57BL/6J mice than in DBA/2J mice. Furthermore, high citalopram concentrations were required for
H5-HT uptake in C57BL/6J but not in DBA/2J mouse cortical synaptosomes, whereas fluoxetine showed the opposite results. The effects of paroxetine on 5-HT transporter binding and synaptosomal 5-HT uptake were similar in the two strains. These results suggest that immobility duration depends on 5-HT transporter binding levels, which lead to apparent strain differences in immobility time in the FST and TST. Furthermore, differences in 5-HT transporter binding may cause variations in SSRI effects on behaviors.

Herein, we reported a special Fe–N-doped double-shelled hollow carbon microsphere (Fe–N-DSC) which was prepared by a facile, in situ polymerization followed by pyrolysis. With porous ferroferric ...oxide (Fe3O4) hollow microspheres as the templates, where pyrrole monomers were dispersed around the outer surface and prefilled the interior space. By adding hydrochloric acid, Fe3+ ions were released to initiate polymerization of pyrrole on both the outer and inner surfaces of Fe3O4 microspheres until they were completely dissolved, resulting in the Fe-containing polypyrrole double-shelled hollow carbon microspheres (Fe-PPY-DSC). The Fe-PPY-DSC was then pyrolyzed to generate the Fe-N-DSC. The Fe3O4 hollow microspheres played trifunctional roles, i.e., the template to prepare a double-shelled hollow spherical structure, the initiator (i.e., Fe3+ ions) for the polymerization of pyrrole, and the Fe source for doping. The Fe–N-DSC exhibited a superior catalytic activity for oxygen reduction as comparable to commercial Pt/C catalysts in both alkaline and acidic media. The high catalytic performance was ascribed to the special porous double-shelled hollow spherical structure, which provided more active sites and was beneficial to a high-flux mass transportation.
