Treatment of chronic wounds such as diabetic wounds with large volumes of biofluids is a significant clinical challenge due to ischemia caused by localized edema. To alleviate edema and stimulate ...angiogenesis, a four‐layer composite dressing is designed with a micropore array modified Janus membrane for self‐pumping and bioactive ion backflow, a superabsorbent layer for high capacity water absorption, and a bioactive layer containing bioglass for stimulating angiogenesis. The modified Janus membrane not only allows wound exudates transport from wound bed to the dressing, but also enables controlled backflow of bioactive ion containing fluid to the wound bed for stimulating angiogenesis. The in vivo experiment confirms the function of composite dressing in reducing wound edema, stimulating blood vessel formation and promoting diabetic wound healing. These results demonstrate that the novel composite dressing is a promising wound healing biomaterial for promoting chronic wound healing, and the unique characteristics of the micropore arrayed Janus membrane may extend its applications in biomedicine.
The designed micropore array Janus membrane changes the unidirectional water transport properties of traditional Janus membranes to a controllable bi‐directional water transport characteristic. A four‐layer wound dressing with the micropore array Janus membrane is further constructed, which effectively absorbs wound exudates, stimulates blood vessel formation, and enhances diabetic wound healing.

In order to overcome the discreteness of input data and training data in deep neural network (DNN), the multivariable response surface function was used to revise input data and training data in this ...paper. The loss function based on the data on the response surface was derived, DNN based on multivariable response surface function (MRSF-DNN) was established. MRSF-DNN model of recycled brick aggregate concrete compressive strength was established, in which coarse aggregate volume content, fine aggregate volume content and water cement ratio are influencing factors. Furthermore, the predictive analysis and extended analysis of MRSF-DNN model were carried out. The results show that: MRSF-DNN model had high prediction accuracy, the correlation coefficient between the real values and the forecast values was 0.9882, the relative error was between -0.5% and 1%. Furthermore, MRSF-DNN had more stable prediction ability and stronger generalization ability than DNN.

Background:
Baduanjin exercise is a traditional Chinese Qigong exercise. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Baduanjin exercise on the quality of life and psychological status of ...postoperative patients with breast cancer.
Methods:
A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted. Eight databases were searched from inception to December 15, 2021, restricting the language to English and Chinese. RevMan5.3 software was employed for data analysis. This study was registered in PROSPERO, number CRD 42020222132.
Results:
A total of 7 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) with 450 postoperative breast cancer patients with or without Baduanjin exercise were collected. Compared with the group without Baduanjin, those who practiced Baduanjin showed significant improvement in quality of life (WMD = 5.70, 95% CI 3.11-8.29, P < .0001). Subgroup analysis showed significant improvement in physical (WMD = 1.83, 95% CI 1.13-2.53, P < .00001) and functional well-being (WMD = 1.58, 95% CI 0.77-2.39, P = .0001), which were measured by the functional assessment of cancer therapy-breast (FACT-B). Subgroup analysis also showed that role-physical (WMD = 11.49, 95% CI 8.86-14.13, P < .00001) and vitality (WMD = 8.58, 95% CI 5.60-11.56, P < .00001) were significantly increased, as measured by a 36-item Short Form survey (SF-36). In terms of psychological health, Baduanjin exercise reduced patients’ anxiety (WMD = −8.02, 95% CI −9.27 to −6.78, P < .00001) and depression (WMD = −4.45, 95% CI −5.62 to −3.28, P < .00001).
Conclusions:
Baduanjin is an effective exercise, which can significantly improve the quality of life and psychological health of breast cancer patients after operation.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of silicates on the proliferation and odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) in vitro. HDPCs were cultured in the presence of ...calcium silicate (CS) extracts, while calcium hydroxide (CH) extracts and culture medium without CH or CS were used as the control groups. The calcium and phosphorus ion concentrations in the CS were similar to those in the control groups, but the concentration of silicon ions in the CS extracts was higher than that in the control groups. HDPCs cultured with CS and CH extracts at dilution of 1/128 proliferated significantly more than those cultured with the control treatments. CS extracts promoted cell migration, enhanced the expression of odontogenic marker genes and conspicuously increased odontogenesis-related protein production and the release of cytokines, suggesting that CS bioactive ceramics possess excellent biocompatibility and bioactivity and have the potential for application as pulp-capping agents.
CTRP1 (C1q/TNF-α tumour necrosis factor-α-related protein 1), an adiponectin paralog, is associated with diabetes and adverse events in cardiovascular disease. However, its effect on cardiac function ...post myocardial infarction (MI) is unclear. Our study aimed to explore the role of CTRP1 in cardiac function post MI. CTRP1 global knockout mice were subjected to left anterior descending ligation to establish the MI model. C57BL6J mice were also administered recombinant CTRP1 protein (200 μg/kg) 7 days post MI. As a result, mice with CTRP1 deficiency exhibited an increased survival rate, a reduced infarct area, improved cardiac function and decreased inflammation and oxidative stress levels at 4 weeks post MI compared with those of mice receiving the CRTP1 injection, whose conditions deteriorated. However, cardiomyocytes with either CTRP1 silencing or CTRP1 treatment showed few differences in inflammation and oxidative stress levels compared with those of the control under hypoxic conditions. The activation of macrophages isolated from CTRP1-deficient mice was decreased in response to interferon-γ, while CTRP1 enhanced the activation of macrophages in response to interferon-γ. Macrophage scavengers and clodronate liposomes antagonized the effects of CTRP1 injection in mice. We also found that CTRP1 regulated macrophage activation
adiponectin receptor 1, which binds to TLR4 on the macrophage membrane. TLR4 knockout also antagonized the effects of the CTRP1 protein on mice with MI. Taken together, these data indicate that CTRP1 supresses cardiac function post MI
TLR4 on macrophages. Targeting CTRP1 may become a promising therapeutic approach to cardiac dysfunction post MI.
