A study of hadron production at the nucleon-antinucleon threshold has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e− collider. The very fast rise with about 1 MeV width has been ...observed in the e+e−→pp¯ cross section. A sharp drop in the e+e−→3(π+π−) cross section has been confirmed and found to have a less than 2 MeV width, in agreement with the observed fast rise of the e+e−→pp¯ cross section. For the first time a similar sharp drop is demonstrated in the e+e−→K+K−π+π− cross section. The behavior of the e+e−→3(π+π−),K+K−π+π− cross sections cannot be explained by an interference of any resonance amplitude with continuum, therefore this phenomenon cannot be due to a narrow near-threshold resonance. No such structure has been observed in the e+e−→2(π+π−) cross section.

This paper describes a procedure of particle identification with the liquid Xenon calorimeter of the CMD-3 detector currently being developed. The procedure uses the boosted decision tree ...classification method with specific energy losses of charged particles in the liquid Xenon calorimeter as input variables. The efficiency of the procedure is illustrated by an example of the measurement of the cross section of the process e+e− K+K− in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.8 to 2.0 GeV.
The cross section of the process e+e−→3(π+π−)π0 has been measured for the first time using a data sample of 56.7 pb−1 collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e− collider. 632±32 signal ...events have been selected in the center-of-mass energy range 1.6–2.0 GeV. A study of dynamics of seven-pion production allows one to extract contributions of the dominated 2(π+π−)ω and 2(π+π−)η intermediate states.

The updated results of the precise measurements of the processes e+e−→ρ→π+π−, e+e−→ω→π+π−π0 and e+e−→φ→K0LK0S performed by the CMD-2 Collaboration are presented. The update appeared necessary due to ...an overestimate of the integrated luminosity in previous analyses.

A methodology to measure Near Infrared (NIR) scintillations in gaseous and liquid Ar, using Geiger-mode APDs (GAPDs) sensitive in the NIR and pulsed X-ray irradiation, is described. This study has ...been triggered by the development of Cryogenic Avalanche Detectors (CRADs) with optical readout in the NIR using combined THGEM/GAPD multiplier, which may come to be in demand in coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering and dark matter search experiments. A new approach to measure the NIR scintillation yield at cryogenic temperatures has been developed, namely using GAPDs in single photoelectron counting mode with time resolution. The time structure of NIR scintillations and their light yield were measured both for primary scintillations and that of secondary at moderate electric fields (electroluminescence), in gaseous and liquid Ar.
The CMD-3 detector has begun to take data at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000 since december 2010. The collected data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 60 pb−1 in the c.m. ...energy range from 0.32 up to 2 GeV and about 50pb−1 for RUN2017. The integrated luminosity was measured by counting e+e− e+e− and e+e− γγ events, allowing additional photons in the final state. Preliminary results of the luminosity measurement are presented for various energy ranges and its accuracy is estimated to be 1%.

The CMD-3 detector started data taking at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000 in December 2010 with a goal to collect about 1 fb−1. The collected data sample corresponds to an integrated ...luminosity of 200 pb−1 in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 up to 2 GeV. This paper reports recent results on the hadronic cross sections measurements with the CMD-3 detector.
A cross section of the process e+e−→π+π−π+π− has been measured using 6798±93 signal events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.8 pb−1 collected with the CMD-3 detector ...in the center-of-mass energy range 920–1060 MeV. The measured cross section exhibits a pattern of interference of the ϕ(1020)→π+π−π+π− decay with a non-resonant process e+e−→π+π−π+π−, from which we obtain the branching fraction of the doubly suppressed decays (by G-parity and OZI rule): B(ϕ→π+π−π+π−)=(6.5±2.7±1.6)×10−6.

The VEPP-2000 e+e− collider has been operated in the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics since 2010. Experiments are carried out with two detectors CMD-3 and SND. The calorimetry at the CMD-3 ...detector is based on three subsystems, two coaxial barrel calorimeters—Liquid Xenon calorimeter and crystal CsI calorimeter, and end cap calorimeter with BGO crystals. This paper describes the procedures of the energy calibration of the combined barrel calorimeter of the CMD-3 detector.
