Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignancies and a significant cause of cancer-related death. Treatment of HCC depends on the stage of the tumor. As many patients ...with HCC are not deemed fit for surgical resection or liver transplantation, locoregional therapies play an essential role in the management. Image-guided locoregional treatments include percutaneous ablative therapies and endovascular therapies. The choice of an individual or a combination of therapies is guided by the tumor and patient characteristics. As the outcomes of image-guided locoregional treatments depend on the ability to achieve necrosis of the entire tumor along with a safety margin around it, it is mandatory to follow standard guidelines. In this manuscript, we discuss in detail the various aspects of image-guided locoregional therapies to guide interventional radiologists involved in the care of patients with HCC.

Uncontrolled hypertension is an important cardiovascular risk factor and therefore requires effective approaches to patient management. This study assessed approaches to the management of patients ...with Stage 2 hypertension by cardiologists in India.
This was a retrospective, multicenter, observational, case-based questionnaire study. Data on demographic characteristics, risk factors associated with Stage 2 hypertension, use of antihypertensive medications, side effects, and approaches to education for 2,540 patients were extracted from questionnaire responses provided by 508 cardiologists. The study population of patients with Stage 2 hypertension had a mean age of 55.0 years. Most of the patients (62.6%) were aged 30 to 60 years and diabetes mellitus was the most prevalent comorbidity (48.9%). Triple antihypertensive therapy was being used by 760 patients, and 634 and 1,146 patients were receiving 4 and 5 different antihypertensive medications, respectively. Telmisartan, amlodipine, chlorthalidone, hydrochlorothiazide, spironolactone, metoprolol, and prazosin were the commonly prescribed drugs. Ankle edema (27.7%) was the most frequent side effect of therapy. Pharmacotherapy was supported by patient education and lifestyle modifications for better blood pressure control. The standardized approach to the collection and assessment of these contemporary data provides useful insights into the characteristics and treatment of patients with Stage 2 hypertension in India.

White-collar crimes (WCC) or financial crimes (FC) are the crimes that are linked with the top-level management representatives who are responsible to make the right decisions for the better ...functioning of the organization, these individuals are highly respectable as they hold a position of high repute. However, when the same individuals either under the pressure of performance or personal issues misuse the power and control vested on them due to the position they hold in the organization, take certain decisions which lead the organization into jeopardy. These individuals not only put the hard-earned money of the investors on stake but also enjoy the best of the facilities on the basis of their position. In the said article the authors have tried to answer two major questions regarding the abuse of position and manipulation of the financial statements at the struggling phase of the firm. The base of the study is convenience theory which was used to understand the concept of convenience theory for which a questionnaire based on 7-point Likert scale was used in which responses of 230 MBA students were studied. The results were near to what were expected supporting the fact that individuals are misusing their position to commit WCC, supporting the concept of convenience theory being used in the study.

The paper attempts to move beyond the traditional perspectives of emancipation versus focal concern, which argue that less inequality will increase women involvement in WCC versus women socializing into accepting responsibilities for social concerns by caring for others.

Purpose

Several research papers, articles and newsfeeds were referred to study the concept, growth, scope, effect and impact of identity theft. It was also found that identity theft is the most common type of cybercrimes.
Findings
Identity theft though a simple crime but if not taken care of can lead to multiple crimes which can affect not only individuals but also companies. And when these crimes impact companies, they can actually hamper the economy as a whole.
Practical implications
Information for the same is not available very easily, so the study is solely based on secondary data.
Social implications
Identity theft effects an individual not only financially but also mentally and socially; thus, these effect each and every one in the said economy.

This article discusses Indonesia’s involvement in addressing the plight of the Rohingya refugees, who have been deprived of citizenship, leading to the erosion of their basic human rights. This ...deprivation has resulted in widespread social exclusion and displacement, forcing many to seek asylum in countries like Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to: firstly, analyze the legal framework within which international law enables the Indonesian government to responsibly manage refugee situation; and secondly, evaluate the collective efforts of the Indonesian government and the global community in seeking a comprehensive resolution to this crisis. The paper focuses on the legal dimensions of the Rohingya refugee situation in Indonesia, employing a normative approach. It offers a descriptive analysis from the perspective of governance and international law. The findings emphasize the need for the Indonesian government to adopt a proactive stance. Key measures include advocating for the Rohingya's right to citizenship, urging the Myanmar government to halt its violence, and calling for active intervention from the United Nations (UN) and the international community. Furthermore, it is recommended that Indonesia continues to offer temporary refuge on humanitarian grounds, ensuring the provision of aid and adhering to the principle of non-refoulement. Effective coordination among local and central governments, as well as international partners, is essential for the strategic management of refugee issues.
Purpose
This paper aims to examine the options available to arbitrators when they suspect money laundering during arbitration proceedings, considering their compatibility with fundamental principles ...and concepts of arbitration.
Design/methodology/approach
Using a doctrinal analysis approach, the paper draws on legal principles, antimoney laundering regulations and relevant literature to explore the topic. It considers relevant international treaties, standards set by the financial action task force on money laundering, cases and arguments from legal analysts and experts.
Findings
The paper identifies three options for arbitrators: disregarding suspicions, initiating an investigation or terminating the proceedings. Disregarding suspicions is deemed inappropriate, as it may facilitate the concealment of financial crimes. Initiating an investigation is seen as a preferable option, aligning with the arbitrator’s role and the public interest in nullifying contracts linked to criminal conduct. Terminating the proceedings is not recommended, as it contradicts the principle of natural justice. The paper emphasizes the importance of reasonable grounds for suspicions, notifying the parties, and allowing them to address the concerns.
Originality/value
This paper contributes to the existing literature by comprehensively analyzing the compatibility of these options with arbitration principles and concepts. It underscores the need for clear laws and directives to guide arbitrators in addressing financial crimes within the arbitration process, maintaining a balance between party autonomy and preventing the misuse of arbitration for illicit activities.
Severe acute respiratory disease virus-2 (SARS CoV-2) is one of the deadliest global threats faced by mankind to date. Despite the colossal efforts, the viral pandemic swept across all boundaries. ...Besides the virulence and susceptible population, the low proofreading capacity and error-prone mechanism of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) have contributed to new variants and reinfections. The World Health Organization has officially categorized these variants as variants of concern or variants of interest. This nomenclature is not merely to suffice the surveillance but also to have effective treatment and vaccine options in place. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) variants have the propensity to render the available treatment strategies futile owing to the mutations they acquire. The futility of treatment strategies can be attributed either to the ineffectiveness or the shortage of supply given the skyrocketing increase in the number of cases. Presently, the Omicron variant is the most widespread one and is known to escape the protection, be it immune-derived, vaccination-derived, or hybrid. WHO has recommended modification in vaccine development policies and few companies have introduced Omicron-adapted vaccine jabs. Keeping in view the unending tale of COVID-19 variants and the huge data available on the same, this review focuses on providing insight into the emergence and ongoing dynamics of these new COVID-19 variants.

Creative accounting, though legal and acceptable around the world, gives in the way to loopholes provided by the acts and rules governing the preparation of financial statements and eventually leading to financial crimes and hampering the economy as a whole.

The limitations of this study remain to the fact that it is an empirical study, as a lot of papers and articles were studied before giving it a shape and reaching a conclusion.

Creative accounting though not illegal but the excess use of the same has given daunting effects on the financial statements and as a result have resulted into financial frauds and looting of peoples money throughout the world.
Social implications
Hard-earned money of the investors is looted and no action can be taken against as the mechanism and the legal bodies are still struggling to curb the problem, and thus it is very important to learn about creative accounting.
Originality/value
This study leads to the understanding of the growth of creative accounting and how it has resulted in accounting frauds leading to financial crimes in an economy.
