Abstract To explore the clinicopathological characteristics and prognostic significance of casting-type calcification (CC) in patients with breast cancer presenting with microcalcification on ...mammography. Data on patients with invasive breast cancer who had mammographic calcification was retrospectively analyzed. The chi-square test was utilized to assess the clinicopathological characteristics of two forms of CC-related breast cancer. The examination of prognostic variables was conducted using Kaplan–Meier and Cox regression analyses. A total of 427 eligible patients were included in this study. Chi-square analysis indicated that the presence of CC was associated with estrogen receptor (ER) negativity (P = 0.005), progesterone receptor (PR) negativity (P < 0.001), and epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) positivity (P < 0.001); among these, the association was stronger with the CC-predominant type. After a median follow-up of 82 months, those with CC had a worse 5-year recurrence-free survival (RFS) (77.1% vs. 86.9%, p = 0.036; hazard ratio HR, 1.86; 95% confidence interval CI 1.04–3.31) and overall survival (OS) (84.0% vs. 94.4%, p = 0.007; HR, 2.99; 95% CI 1.34–6.65) rates. In COX regression analysis, such differences were still observed in HER-2 positive subgroups (RFS: HR: 2.45, 95% CI 1–5.97, P = 0.049; OS: HR: 4.53, 95% CI 1.17–17.52, P = 0.029). In patients with invasive breast cancer exhibiting calcifications on mammography, the presence of CC, especially the CC-predominant type, is linked to a higher frequency of hormone receptor negativity and HER-2 positivity. The presence of CC is associated with an unfavorable 5-year RFS and OS rates.

Background Lung cancer is one of the dominant causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of programmed cell death, plays a key role in cancer immunotherapy. ...However, the role of immunity- and ferroptosis-related gene signatures in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain unclear. Methods RNA-seq data and clinical information pertaining to NSCLC were collected from The Cancer Genome Atlas dataset. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed to identify ferroptosis-related genes. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) model was established for sensitivity and specificity evaluation. Gene ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway analyses were performed to explore the function roles of differentially expressed genes. Results A signature composed of five ferroptosis-related genes was established to stratify patients into high- and low-risk subgroups. In comparison with patients in the low-risk group, those in the high-risk one showed significantly poor overall survival in the training and validation cohorts (P < 0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated risk score to be an independent predictor of overall survival (P < 0.01). Further, the 1-, 2-, and 3-year ROCs were 0.623 vs. 0.792 vs. 0.635, 0.644 vs. 0.792 vs. 0.634, and 0.631 vs. 0.641 vs. 0.666 in one training and two validation cohorts, respectively. Functional analysis revealed that immune-related pathways were enriched and associated with abnormal activation of immune cells. Conclusions We identified five immunity- and ferroptosis-related genes that may be involved in NSCLC progression and prognosis. Abstract
Background
Human milk banks (HMBs) are essential facilities for the selection, collection, testing, transportation,storage, and distribution of DHM for special medical needs. The aim of this ...analysis was to analyze the operation status and data over the last 8 years of operation of the first human milk bank (HMB) in East China.
Methods
Data related to the costs, donors, donation, pasteurization, and recipients were extracted from the web-based electronic monitoring system of the HMB for the period August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2021.
Results
Over the 8 years of operation, 1,555 qualified donors donated 7,396.5L of qualified milk at a cost of ¥1.94 million($306,051), with the average cost per liter of donor human milk being ¥262.3($41.4). The donors were between 25 and 30 years of age, and the majority (80.1%) were primipara. All the donated milk was pasteurized and subjected to bacteriological tests before and after pasteurization: 95.4% passed the pre-pasteurization tests, and 96.3% passed the post-pasteurization tests. A total of 9,207 newborns received 5,775.2L of pasteurized donor milk. The main reason for the prescription of donor human milk was preterm birth. As a result of continuous quality improvements, January 2016 witnessed a significant increase in the volume of qualified DHM and the number of qualified donors. However, in 2020, as a result of the restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the volume of qualified DHM and the number of qualified donors decreased.
Conclusions
Over its 8 years of operation, our HMB has made steady quality improvements in its screening and information processes. Continuous quality improvement is on ongoing need, along with recruiting more qualified donors and collecting donor human milk for vulnerable newborns.

In response to the epochal demand for high-quality development in early childhood education in China, it is imperative and necessary to improve the competency level of early childhood educators. The ...study aims to investigate the relationship between psychological contracts and teacher competency, and to verify the mediating roles of job crafting and professional identity in the relationship between psychological contracts and teacher competency. This study employed validated measurement scales regarding psychological contracts, teachers' professional identity, job crafting, and teacher competency. Each of these scales has established internal consistency coefficients. Data were collected from 318 early childhood teachers in Sichuan, China. The results highlight the significant impact of psychological contracts on the prediction of teacher competency. It is worth mentioning that the psychological contracts, together with their distinct components such as normative responsibility and development responsibility, have a direct and favorable impact on teacher competency. This implies that developing the psychological contracts might be an effective technique for improving teacher competence. The individual mediation of job crafting and professional identity in the link between psychological contracts and teacher competency has been well-established. However, the combined or chain mediating influence of these factors provides a unique and valuable perspective on the phenomenon of job crafting leading to professional identity, which in turn impacts teacher competency. The study found that psychological contracts have a positive predictive effect on teacher competency, while job crafting and professional identity both have independent and chain mediating roles in the relationship between psychological contracts and teacher competency. Therefore, this study suggests a comprehensive enhancement of the psychological contracts level from aspects such as normative responsibility, interpersonal responsibility, and development responsibility. By stimulating job crafting and professional identity levels in both internal and external environments, we can improve the competency level of early childhood educators.

Background
Lung cancer is one of the top causes of cancer-related death worldwide. Cellular senescence is a characteristic of cell cycle arrest that plays a role in carcinogenesis and immune ...microenvironment modulation. Despite this, the clinical and immune cell infiltration features of senescence in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) are unknown.
Methods
The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were used to get RNA-seq data and clinical information for LUSC. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO)-Cox regression, receiver operating characteristic (ROC), and Kaplan-Meier analysis were used to evaluate a risk model for predicting overall survival based on six differentially expressed genes. The tumor microenvironment (TME) and immunotherapy response were also studied.
Results
To discriminate LUSC into high- and low-risk subgroups, a risk model comprised of six cellular senescence-related genes (CDKN1A, CEBPB, MDH1, SIX1, SNAI1, and SOX5) was developed. The model could stratify patients into high-risk and low-risk groups, according to ROC and Kaplan-Meier analysis. In the TCGA-LUSC and GSE73403 cohorts, the high-risk group had a worse prognosis (P<0.05), and was associated with immune cell inactivation and being insensitive to immunotherapy in IMvigor210.
Conclusions
We discovered a new LUSC classification based on six cellular senescence-related genes, which will aid in identifying patients who will benefit from anti-PD-1 treatment. Targeting senescence-related genes appears to be another option for improving clinical therapy for LUSC.
The breastfeeding rate in China is lower than that in many other countries and the extent of adoption of the "Feeding Recommendations for Preterm Infants and Low Birth Weight Infants" guideline in ...NICUs remains unclear.
A web-based survey about the current status of human milk feeding and enteral feeding practices at NICUs was sent to all China Neonatal Network's cooperation units on September 7, 2021, and the respondents were given a month to send their responses.
All sixty NICUs responded to the survey, the reply rate was 100%. All units encouraged breastfeeding and provided regular breastfeeding education. Thirty-six units (60.0%) had a dedicated breastfeeding/pumping room, 55 (91.7%) provided kangaroo care, 20 (33.3%) had family rooms, and 33 (55.0%) routinely provided family integrated care. Twenty hospitals (33.3%) had their own human milk banks, and only 13 (21.7%) used donor human milk. Eight units (13.3%) did not have written standard nutrition management guidelines for infants with body weight < 1500 g. Most units initiated minimal enteral nutrition with mother's milk for infants with birth weight ˂1500 g within 24 h after birth. Fifty NICUs (83.3%) increased the volume of enteral feeding at 10-20 ml/kg daily. Thirty-one NICUs (51.7%) assessed gastric residual content before every feeding session. Forty-one NICUs (68.3%) did not change the course of enteral nutrition management during drug treatment for patent ductus arteriosus, and 29 NICUs (48.3%) instated NPO for 1 or 2 feeds during blood transfusion.
There were significant differences in human milk feeding and enteral feeding strategies between the NICUs in CHNN, but also similarities. The data obtained would be useful in the establishment of national enteral feeding guidelines for preterm infants and quality improvement of cooperation at the national level.
Abstract
The people of disaster-affected communities are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the adverse effects of natural disasters. Education about disasters has become a ...possible strategy for fostering resilience and easing PTSD symptoms. This study intends to investigate the moderating roles of social support and disaster experiences on the relationships between disaster education, psychological resilience, and PTSD in disaster-prone regions of Southwest China. This study used Disaster Education Evaluation Scale, Psychological Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), Social Support Rating Scale (SRSS), event intensity Scale and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Self-Rating Scale (PTSD-SS), surveyed 712 residents in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and other areas where natural disasters frequently occur in Southwest China. The research findings indicate that there is a negative association between disaster education and PTSD. The association is influenced by the presence of improved psychological resilience, which acts as a mediator. Additionally, it was discovered that disaster events positively moderated the relationship between psychological resilience and PTSD while social support negatively moderated it. Resilience has a noteworthy role as a substantial mediator, highlighting its crucial function in mitigating the detrimental consequences of catastrophes and amplifying the beneficial outcomes of disaster education. These results imply that building psychological resilience, which might reduce PTSD symptoms in people living in disaster-prone regions, is a critical part of disaster education. The strength of the catastrophic event and social support are other factors that affect how psychological resilience and PTSD are related. The research argues that disaster education is crucial for strengthening community resilience and reducing PTSD symptoms in at-risk areas. To increase psychological resilience and lessen PTSD in high-risk locations, policymakers and disaster management organizations should emphasize disaster education initiatives and strengthen social support network.
Objectives: To explore the clinical value of circulating long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as biomarkers to predict fetal congenital heart defects (CHD) in pregnant women. Methods: Differential ...expression of lncRNAs isolated from the plasma of pregnant women with typical fetal CHD or healthy controls was analyzed by microarray. Gene ontology (GO), pathway and network analysis were performed to study the function of the lncRNAs. Differentially expressed lncRNAs were validated in plasma samples from 62 pregnant women with typical CHD and 62 matched controls by RT-PCR. The sensitivity and specificity of each lncRNA in the diagnosis of fetal CHD was determined by ROC curve analysis. Results: Microarray analysis identified 3694 up-regulated and 3919 down-regulated (fold change ≥2.0) lncRNAs. The top ten significantly differentially expressed, CHD-associated lncRNAs were validated by RT-PCR. Five significantly up-regulated or down-regulated lncRNAs were identified: ENST00000436681, ENST00000422826, AA584040, AA709223 and BX478947 with the AUC of ROC curves calculated as 0.892, 0.817, 0.755, 0.882 and 0.886, respectively. Conclusions: Specific lncRNAs aberrantly expressed in the plasma of pregnant women with typical fetal CHD may play a key role in the development of CHD and may be used as novel biomarkers for prenatal diagnosis of fetal CHD.
To explore the effect of miR-20b on apoptosis, differentiation, the BMP signaling pathway and mitochondrial function in the P19 cell model of cardiac differentiation in vitro.
A miR-20b ...over-expression vector, a miR-20b silencing vector and their corresponding empty vectors were constructed and transfected into P19 cells, separately. Stably miR-20b overexpressing and silenced P19 cell lines were successfully selected by blasticidin and puromycin, separately. The cells were induced to undergo apoptosis in FBS-free-α-MEM. The induced cells were examined by flow cytometry and measurement of their caspase-3 activities. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to evaluate the relative expression of marker genes of cardiomyocytes during differentiation, such as cTnT, GATA4 and ANP. QRT-PCR was also used to detect the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number. We investigated the cellular ATP production using a luciferase-based luminescence assay. The reactive oxygen species (ROS) was determined by DCFDA (2', 7'-Dichlorofluorescein diacetate) and the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) was elucidated by a JC-1 fluorescent probe, both using fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometer. The expression of BMP signaling pathway-related proteins were analyzed by Western blotting.
Stably miR-20b overexpressing and silenced P19 cell lines were successfully obtained. MiR-20b overexpression increased apoptosis and promoted differentiation in P19 cells by promoting the activation of the BMP signaling pathway. In addition, miR-20b overexpression induced mitochondrial impairment in P19 cells during differentiation, which was characterized by lower MMP, raised ATP synthesis and increased ROS levels. The effects of miR-20b silencing were the exact opposite to those of overexpression.
Collectively, these results suggested that miR-20b was very important in apoptosis, differentiation and mitochondrial function of P19 cells. MiR-20b may represent a new therapeutic target for congenital heart diseases and provide new insights into the mechanisms of cardiac diseases.

Miracle reductions in absolute poverty led China to announce, in late 2019, the strategic change from targeting absolute poverty to targeting relative poverty. After highlighting China's success in ...the fight against absolute poverty, this paper attempts to assess the roles of growth and income inequality in affecting both absolute and relative poverty rates. Poverty decomposition and panel-VAR modelling results show that growth played an overwhelming role in achieving the miracle of poverty reduction but relative poverty has been consistently rising. And growth, contrary to the case of absolute poverty, actually has contributed to the rising trend of relative poverty. Conversely, income inequality has played a small role in aggravating absolute poverty but a moderate role in raising relative poverty. Therefore, it seems appropriate for China to continue targeting absolute poverty with a higher poverty line. In the case that China insists on shifting the poverty alleviation strategy, market-led growth can no longer be relied on to reduce relative poverty. Instead, government-led pro-poor policies must be instituted by providing employment, education, training and other opportunities to the disadvantaged groups, in addition to the usual social assistance.
•Use poverty decomposition and panel-VAR modelling to assess and compare the roles of income growth and income inequality in affecting absolute and relative poverty rates in China.•Miracle reduction in absolute poverty is completely attributable to fast growth, while income inequality played a small aggravating role.•Relative poverty has been rising in China, largely driven by fast growth and to a moderate extend by income inequality.•It is suggested that in the short- and medium-run China shall continue to target absolute poverty with a higher poverty line, rather than shifting policy direction to focus on relative poverty.
