Abstract
Resistance change under mechanical stimuli arouses mass operational heat, damaging the performance, lifetime, and reliability of stretchable electronic devices, therefore rapid thermal heat ...dissipating is necessary. Here we report a stretchable strain sensor with outstanding thermal management. Besides a high stretchability and sensitivity testified by human motion monitoring, as well as long-term durability, an enhanced thermal conductivity from the casted thermoplastic polyurethane-boron nitride nanosheets layer helps rapid heat transmission to the environments, while the porous electrospun fibrous thermoplastic polyurethane membrane leads to thermal insulation. A 32% drop of the real time saturated temperature is achieved. For the first time we in-situ investigated the dynamic operational temperature fluctuation of stretchable electronics under repeating stretching-releasing processes. Finally, cytotoxicity test confirms that the nanofillers are tightly restricted in the nanocomposites, making it harmless to human health. All the results prove it an excellent candidate for the next-generation of wearable devices.

It also provides an alternative method for C‐terminal modification of proteins with functional units as well as for the preparation of C‐to‐C fusion proteins.

Based on the case of the national electronic identification card (New eID) policy in Taiwan, this study integrated the government’s components with a privacy calculus model to analyze factors which ...affect personal data disclosure intention. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyze the survey data and explore how citizens balance benefits and risks associated with the New eID issue. The research results suggested that financial compensation, personalized services, and service compatibility can enhance cognition of privacy-related benefits of citizens, while this cognition will further increase willingness to authorize their personal data. Moreover, the impact of government elements on citizens’ willingness to authorize their personal information also has statistical backings. Citizens’ cognition of privacy-related risks, however, has no statistical effect within the model, which is contrary to findings from previous studies. The study attempted to make contributions to supplementing the connotation of an extant theoretical framework, and discussed the privacy-related questions concerning digital government.

Cross-species transmission of viruses from wildlife animal reservoirs poses a marked threat to human and animal health
. Bats have been recognized as one of the most important reservoirs for emerging ...viruses and the transmission of a coronavirus that originated in bats to humans via intermediate hosts was responsible for the high-impact emerging zoonosis, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)
. Here we provide virological, epidemiological, evolutionary and experimental evidence that a novel HKU2-related bat coronavirus, swine acute diarrhoea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV), is the aetiological agent that was responsible for a large-scale outbreak of fatal disease in pigs in China that has caused the death of 24,693 piglets across four farms. Notably, the outbreak began in Guangdong province in the vicinity of the origin of the SARS pandemic. Furthermore, we identified SADS-related CoVs with 96-98% sequence identity in 9.8% (58 out of 591) of anal swabs collected from bats in Guangdong province during 2013-2016, predominantly in horseshoe bats (Rhinolophus spp.) that are known reservoirs of SARS-related CoVs. We found that there were striking similarities between the SADS and SARS outbreaks in geographical, temporal, ecological and aetiological settings. This study highlights the importance of identifying coronavirus diversity and distribution in bats to mitigate future outbreaks that could threaten livestock, public health and economic growth.

Supramolecular nanoparticles for photothermal therapy (PTT) have shown promising therapeutic efficacy in the primary tumor and great potential for turning the whole-body immune microenvironment from ..."cold" to "hot," which allows for the simultaneous treatment of the primary tumor and the metastatic site. . The ICG-liposome efficiently eradicated the primary tumor upon laser irradiation in two colon cancer animal models (CT26 and MC38) and promoted the infiltration of CD8 T cells to distant tumors. However, PTT from ICG-liposome shows only a minimal effect on the inhibition of distant tumor growth in long-term monitoring, predicting other immunosuppressive mechanisms that exist in the distant tumor. By immune-profiling of the tumor microenvironment, we find that the distant tumor growth after PTT highly correlates to compensatory upregulation of immune checkpoint biomarkers, including program death-1 (PD-1), T-cell immunoglobulin, and mucin domain-containing protein 3 (TIM-3), in tumor-infiltrating CD8 T cells. Based on this mechanism, we combine dual PD-1 and TIM-3 blockade with PTT in an MC38 tumor model. This combo successfully clears the primary tumor, generates a systemic immune response, and inhibits the growth of the distant tumor. The ICG-liposome-combined PD-1/TIM-3 blockade strategy sheds light on the future clinical use of supramolecular PTT for cancer immunotherapy.
Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted widespread intensive attention all over the world owing to their low cost and relatively high safety. The present work reports the first-principles ...calculations on orthogonal ScC2 and ScN2 monolayers to investigate their feasibility as SIB anode materials. The results show that both o-ScC2 and o-ScN2 monolayers are thermodynamically stable and have metallic features even during the sodiation process. The adsorption energy of one Na ion on 2 × 2 × 1 cells of the monolayer is −0.28 eV for o-ScC2 and −0.75 eV for o-ScN2. Each of o-ScC2 and o-ScN2 has the capacity to accommodate two sodium atoms to form Na2ScC2 and Na2ScN2, which gives low open circuit voltages of 0.08 and 0.10 V, and high Na storage capacities of 777 and 735 mA h g−1, respectively. The ab initio molecular dynamics simulations exhibit the anisotropic diffusion behaviors of Na ions on both o-ScC2 and o-ScN2 monolayers with low energy barriers of 0.050 and 0.269 eV, respectively, which are comparable with those of other outstanding SIB anode materials such as Sc2C (0.012 eV) and MoS2 (0.28 eV). Given the thermodynamic stability, metallic feature, low Na ion diffusion energy barrier, and high specific capacity, both o-ScC2 and o-ScN2 monolayers have great potential to be excellent SIB anode materials.

. Although bats are probable reservoir hosts for SARS-CoV-2, the identity of any intermediate host that may have facilitated transfer to humans is unknown. Here we report the identification of SARS-CoV-2-related coronaviruses in Malayan pangolins (Manis javanica) seized in anti-smuggling operations in southern China. Metagenomic sequencing identified pangolin-associated coronaviruses that belong to two sub-lineages of SARS-CoV-2-related coronaviruses, including one that exhibits strong similarity in the receptor-binding domain to SARS-CoV-2. The discovery of multiple lineages of pangolin coronavirus and their similarity to SARS-CoV-2 suggests that pangolins should be considered as possible hosts in the emergence of new coronaviruses and should be removed from wet markets to prevent zoonotic transmission.

Single-cell RNA sequencing is a powerful tool to analyse the heterogeneity of tissues at the single cell level, leading to a better understanding of the processes of cell differentiation. By profiling 18,596 cells in human lens superficial tissue through single-cell sequencing, we identified two subtypes of lens epithelial cells that specifically expressed C8orf4 and ADAMTSL4 with distinct spatial localization, a new type of fibre cells located directly adjacent to the epithelium, and a subpopulation of ADAMTSL4
cells that might be lens epithelial stem/progenitor cells. We also found two trajectories of lens epithelial cell differentiation and changes of some important genes during differentiation.

Tetragonal Na3PS4 (t-Na3PS4) has been demonstrated as a very promising candidate for a solid-state sodium-ion electrolyte with high Na ionic conductivity at ambient temperature. In this paper, we ...systematically investigated the Na ionic conductivity in pristine and halogen (F, Cl, Br, and I) doped tetragonal-Na3PS4 superionic conductors using first-principles calculations. The Na ionic conductivity of pristine t-Na3PS4 is calculated to be about 0.01 mS cm−1, while much higher Na ionic conductivities could be achieved by introducing Na ion vacancies via a halogen doping strategy. The calculated Na ionic conductivity of t-Na3PS4 doped with 1.56% Cl is 1.07 mS cm−1 at ambient temperature. Among different halogen-doped t-Na3PS4, Br-doped t-Na3PS4 shows the lowest activation energy and the highest Na ionic conductivity, which reaches 2.37 mS cm−1 at 300 K. The low activation energy and high Na ionic conductivity in Br-doped t-Na3PS4 are due to a relatively lower defect binding energy of the defect pair of halogen substitution and a Na ion vacancy. Our results suggest Br-doped t-Na3PS4 may serve as a very promising Na-ion solid-state superionic conductor.
