IPv4 network addresses are running out and the deployment of IPv6 networking in many places is now well underway. Following the work of the HEPiX IPv6 Working Group, a growing number of sites in the ...Worldwide Large Hadron Collider Computing Grid (WLCG) are deploying dual-stack IPv6/IPv4 services. The aim of this is to support the use of IPv6-only clients, i.e. worker nodes, virtual machines or containers. The IPv6 networking protocols while they do contain features aimed at improving security also bring new challenges for operational IT security. The lack of maturity of IPv6 implementations together with the increased complexity of some of the protocol standards raise many new issues for operational security teams. The HEPiX IPv6 Working Group is producing guidance on best practices in this area. This paper considers some of the security concerns for WLCG in an IPv6 world and presents the HEPiX IPv6 working group guidance for the system administrators who manage IT services on the WLCG distributed infrastructure, for their related site security and networking teams and for developers and software engineers working on WLCG applications.
The fraction of Internet traffic carried over IPv6 continues to grow rapidly. IPv6 support from network hardware vendors and carriers is pervasive and becoming mature. A network infrastructure ...upgrade often offers sites an excellent window of opportunity to configure and enable IPv6. There is a significant overhead when setting up and maintaining dual-stack machines, so where possible sites would like to upgrade their services directly to IPv6 only. In doing so, they are also expediting the transition process towards its desired completion. While the LHC experiments accept there is a need to move to IPv6, it is currently not directly affecting their work. Sites are unwilling to upgrade if they will be unable to run LHC experiment workflows. This has resulted in a very slow uptake of IPv6 from WLCG sites. For several years the HEPiX IPv6 Working Group has been testing a range of WLCG services to ensure they are IPv6 compliant. Several sites are now running many of their services as dual-stack. The working group, driven by the requirements of the LHC VOs to be able to use IPv6-only opportunistic resources, continues to encourage wider deployment of dual-stack services to make the use of such IPv6-only clients viable. This paper presents the working group's plan and progress so far to allow sites to deploy IPv6-only CPU resources. This includes making experiment central services dual-stack as well as a number of storage services. The monitoring, accounting and information services that are used by jobs also need to be upgraded. Finally the VO testing that has taken place on hosts connected via IPv6-only is reported.

The world is rapidly running out of IPv4 addresses; the number of IPv6 end systems connected to the internet is increasing; WLCG and the LHC experiments may soon have access to worker nodes and/or ...virtual machines (VMs) possessing only an IPv6 routable address. The HEPiX IPv6 Working Group has been investigating, testing and planning for dual-stack services on WLCG for several years. Following feedback from our working group, many of the storage technologies in use on WLCG have recently been made IPv6-capable. This paper presents the IPv6 requirements, tests and plans of the LHC experiments together with the tests performed on the group's IPv6 test-bed. This is primarily aimed at IPv6-only worker nodes or VMs accessing several different implementations of a global dual-stack federated storage service. Finally the plans for deployment of production dual-stack WLCG services are presented.
Abstract
Though the legal framework of urban planning plays a significant role in determining the nature of urban development, there is limited scholarship on the planning law regimes of different ...jurisdictions, especially in Asia and the global South. For countries like India, where the rule of law is seen to be weak and implemented arbitrarily, much of academic scholarship has focused on informality in urban planning, and the formal planning process has been relatively ignored. This article attempts to elucidate the planning law regime that operates in India through a close examination of the legal and institutional framework of urban planning in the city of Bangalore. It traces the colonial roots of India’s urban planning system, examines the institutions and processes of planning that operate in Bangalore, highlights the debates around the contents of the master plan, and examines the difficulty of enforcing the plan. This article argues that the fundamental concern with India’s urban planning regime is the disjuncture between the authority to plan and local democratic accountability. Even after the passing of the 74th Constitutional Amendment in 1992, which sought to empower municipalities by vesting them with multiple powers including that of urban planning, the master plan for Bangalore is still not prepared by the elected municipal government but by an unelected parastatal agency controlled by the state government. The article also discusses the concerns regarding the top-down planning process which does not provide adequate avenues for public participation, the static land-use based master plans that do not integrate key sectors of urban development, and the government’s approach of addressing non-enforcement of plans by legalizing violations of planning norms.
Cerebral sinus venous thrombosis (CSVT) is a relatively rare, potentially fatal neurological condition that can be frequently overlooked due to the vague nature of its clinical and radiological ...presentation. A literature search on PubMed using the keyword "Cerebral sinus venous thrombosis" was performed. We searched for the epidemiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment of CSVT. All full-text articles in the last 10 years, in adults (>18 years), and the English language were included. We aim to give a comprehensive review of CSVT, with a primary focus on the management of the disease.
The literature search revealed 404 articles that met our criteria. CSVT is a relatively rare condition that accounts for approximately 1% of all forms of stroke. They can be subdivided into acute, subacute, and chronic forms based on the time of onset of clinical symptoms. It is a multifactorial disease, and the major forms of clinical presentation include isolated intracranial hypertension syndrome, focal neurological deficits, and cavernous sinus syndrome. MRI with magnetic resonance venogram (MRV) is considered the gold standard for diagnosis. Anticoagulation with heparin or low-molecular-weight heparin is the mainstay of treatment. Endovascular management is indicated for those cases with severe symptoms or worsening of symptoms despite anticoagulation therapy. Favorable outcomes have been reported in patients who receive early diagnosis and treatment.
CSVT is a potentially fatal neurological condition that is often under-diagnosed due to its nonspecific presentation. Timely diagnosis and treatment can reduce morbidity and mortality, remarkably improving the outcome in affected individuals.
Cervical spondylotic amyotrophy (CSA) is a rare clinical condition characterized by weakness and atrophy of the upper limb with minimal to no associated sensory deficits. The detection of the disease ...is based on clinical features at presentation, neurological examination, electrophysiological studies, and imaging. The proposed pathophysiological mechanisms include selective damage to the ventral root or anterior horn cells of the spinal cord. Depending on the muscle groups that are involved, CSA is broadly classified into a proximal type and a distal type. The clinical profiles of patients with CSA and ALS have a very close resemblance to each other, especially at the early stages of the disease. Cervical spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may show T2 hyperintensity in both proximal and distal types. Electromyogram demonstrates denervation potentials and reduced motor unit potentials in the affected muscles. The conservative management is often the first-line modality, and those who fail to respond to conservative treatment have severe muscular atrophy and weakness, and distal-type CSA are considered potential candidates for surgery. We present the case of a 57-year-old female who presented with a 1-year history of left-hand weakness and wasting with no sensory deficits. She denied any involvement of her other hand or bilateral lower limbs, and she was referred to our clinic with the potential diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). An elaborate history, physical examination, electrophysiological studies, and imaging assisted us in reaching the diagnosis of CSA, 1 year after the onset of symptoms.
Pancreatic pseudoaneurysm is a rare vascular complication of pancreatitis, resulting from erosion of the pancreatic or peripancreatic artery into a pseudocyst. However, it may happen after pancreatic ...or gastric bypass surgery or trauma. It may lead to fatal complications if left untreated. Herein, we report a unique case of pseudoaneurysm from a gastroduodenal artery in a patient with recurrent episodes of acute pancreatitis, which was managed successfully with coil embolization.

In Ajay Maken v Union of India, a case concerning the legality of the demolition of Shakur Basti in Delhi, a division bench of the Delhi High Court held that slum-dwellers possess the right to ...housing and shall be protected from forced and unannounced eviction. In arriving at its verdict, the Court invoked an idea popular in urban social movements and international law- ‘The Right to the City’. But what is this Right to the City? And how is it relevant in Indian jurisprudence? This paper examines the meaning and relevance of the Right to the City and explores how it may be exercised and realized in the Indian city. It considers how the Right to the City is articulated globally in national and international legal instruments, traces the Indian jurisprudence on the right to housing, and explicates the political practices of claiming urban spaces in India. This paper argues that for the idea of the Right to the City in India to realize its potential it needs to go beyond a framework based in law and include political strategies that make claims over housing and urban spaces. It argues that the Right to the City is an inherently political and radical claim about remaking cities that challenge the rationalities of laws and masterplans. The paper hence considers both legal and political pathways for realizing the Right to the City and the Right to Housing in India.
