Nanoparticles consisting of a derivative of the blue-emitting conjugated polymer polyfluorene doped with green-, yellow-, and red-emitting conjugated polymers were prepared by a reprecipitation ...method. The nanoparticles can be described as a system of densely packed chromophores that exhibit efficient energy transfer from the host to the dopant polymers. Fluorescence quenching analysis of the host polymer as a function of the dopant concentration indicates that one energy acceptor molecule can effectively quench 90% of the fluorescence of a nanoparticle consisting of 100−200 host conjugated polymer molecules. A nanoparticle energy transfer model was developed that successfully describes the quenching behavior of a small number of highly efficient energy acceptors per nanoparticle. The fluorescence brightness of the blended polymer nanoparticles was determined to be much higher than that of inorganic quantum dots and dye-loaded silica particles of similar dimensions. The combination of high fluorescence brightness and tunable fluorescence of these blended nanoparticles is promising for ultrasensitive fluorescence-based assays.

AI planning requires the definition of action models using a formal action and plan description language, such as the standard Planning Domain Definition Language (PDDL), as input. However, building ...action models from scratch is a difficult and time-consuming task, even for experts. In this paper, we develop an algorithm called
ARMS (action-relation modelling system) for automatically discovering action models from a set of successful observed plans. Unlike the previous work in action-model learning, we do not assume complete knowledge of states in the middle of observed plans. In fact, our approach works when no or partial intermediate states are given. These example plans are obtained by an observation agent who does not know the logical encoding of the actions and the full state information between the actions. In a real world application, the cost is prohibitively high in labelling the training examples by manually annotating every state in a plan example from snapshots of an environment. To learn action models,
ARMS gathers knowledge on the statistical distribution of frequent sets of actions in the example plans. It then builds a weighted propositional satisfiability (weighted MAX-SAT) problem and solves it using a MAX-SAT solver. We lay the theoretical foundations of the learning problem and evaluate the effectiveness of
ARMS empirically.

With the development of network technology, enterprises face the explosive growth of data every day. Therefore, to fully mine the value of massive data, big data analysis (BDA) technology has become ...the key to developing the core competitiveness of enterprises. However, few empirical studies have investigated the influencing mechanism of the BDA capability of an enterprise on its operational performance. To fill this gap, this study explores how BDA technology capability influences enterprise operation performance, based on dynamic capabilities theory and resource-based theory. It proposes the key variables, including the connectivity, compatibility, and modularization of big data analysis technical capability, enterprise's operational performance, and the fit between data and tools, to establish a model and study the correlation between the variables. The results highlight the mediating role of data-tool fit in the relationships between BDA capability and the enterprise's operational performance, which is a major finding that has not been underlined in the extant literature. This study provides valuable insight for operational managers to help them in mobilizing BDA capability for enterprises' operational management and improving operational performance.
A good turbine casing cooling design should control the thermal stress and maintain a reasonable tip clearance between the turbine blade and the casing. Since the turbine inlet temperature has been ...increased yearly, the influence of thermal radiation on the temperature of a turbine casing has become more significant. Therefore, the heat transfer characteristics of a turbine casing considering the radiation effect need to be precisely predicted. In this study, a theoretical model is established for describing the heat transfer characteristics of a turbofan casing, and the model’s effectiveness is verified by comparing the numerical and experimental results. Based on the validated model, the effects of single changes of the wall temperature, cooling air temperature, Reynolds number, and surface emissivity on the heat transfer of the casing are discussed. The results show that the increment of cooling air temperature and surface emissivity leads to the enhancement of the average radiative Nusselt number, and the average convective Nusselt number increases as the Reynolds number increases. The emissivity can improve the temperature distribution uniformity of the turbine casing. Finally, a Kriging surrogate model is fitted with 20 sample points to predict the joint effect of multiple parameters on the casing surface Nusselt number. It is found that the Reynolds number has a more significant influence on the average Nusselt number compared with the emissivity and the temperature ratio.

In the era of big data, data processing capability is key to gaining a competitive advantage for businesses. With appropriate technical and organizational resources in place, enterprises can extract ...considerable value from the vast amount of available data, thereby increasing their competitive advantage. Therefore, to utilize big data resources effectively, enterprises should focus on improving the intellectual abilities of big data analysts. Big data analytics intellectual capability (BDAIC) refers to the specialized skills and knowledge that employees of the enterprise possess, including technical, technical management, business, and relational knowledge, that would enable them to use analytics tools to accomplish organizational tasks and shape the core competitiveness of an enterprise. This study constructs a theoretical model that focuses on the mediating role of person-tool fit and examines the mechanisms by which BDAIC affects an enterprise's operational performance. The results show that BDAIC, which contains four basic categories of knowledge, positively influences an enterprise's operational efficiency. Additionally, person-tool matching mediates BDAIC's effect on an enterprise's operational performance. These findings explore the latest avenues of exploration in the research paradigm of big data analytics. Furthermore, this study has important implications for practitioners trying to use big data to improve business performance.

Nitric oxide (NO) is released by endothelial cells in the blood vessel wall to enhance vasodilation. Marine polyphenols are known to have protective effects against vascular dysfunction and ...hypertension. The present study is the first to investigate how diphlorethohydroxycarmalol (DPHC) isolated from
affects calcium levels, resulting in enhanced vasodilation. We examined calcium modulation with the well-known receptors, acetylcholine receptor (AchR) and vascular endothelial growth factor 2 (VEGFR2), which are related to NO formation, and further confirmed the vasodilatory effect of DPHC. We confirmed that DPHC stimulated NO production by increasing calcium levels and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) expression. DPHC affected AchR and VEGFR2 expression, thereby influencing transient calcium intake. Specific antagonists, atropine and SU5416, were used to verify our findings. Furthermore, based on the results of in vivo experiments, we treated
transgenic zebrafish with DPHC to confirm its vasodilatory effect. In conclusion, the present study showed that DPHC modulated calcium transit through AchR and VEGFR2, increasing endothelial-dependent NO production. Thus, DPHC, a natural marine component, can efficiently ameliorate cardiovascular diseases by improving vascular function.

Diphlorethohydroxycarmalol (DPHC) isolated from
(IO) showed potential whitening effects against UV-B radiation. However, the components of IO as well as their molecular mechanism against ...α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) have not yet been investigated. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effects of Ishophloroglucin A (IPA), a phlorotannin isolated from brown algae IO, and its crude extract (IOE), in melanogenesis in vivo in an α-MSH-induced zebrafish model and in B16F10 melanoma cells in vitro. Molecular docking studies of the phlorotannins were carried out to determine their inhibitory effects and to elucidate their mode of interaction with tyrosinase, a glycoprotein related to melanogenesis. In addition, morphological changes and melanin content decreased in the α-MSH-induced zebrafish model after IPA and IOE treatment. Furthermore, Western blotting results revealed that IPA upregulated the extracellular related protein expression in α-MSH-stimulated B16F10 cells. Hence, these results suggest that IPA isolated from IOE has a potential for use in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
In order to enable the driverless vehicle formation controller to automatically control the driving of the fleet, an intelligent driverless vehicle control system based on the CAN controller is ...proposed. Expansion convolution of different expansion rates is used to obtain multi-scale target information and to fuse the feature information at different scales during upsampling to enrich the semantic information. Finally, the driverless CAN bus communication platform was established, the driverless monitoring interface was developed, and the software program was written; experiments on the steering control, speed control, voltage, current, speed, and angular speed acquisition, respectively, were performed. The experimental results show that the average semantic segmentation accuracy of the obstacles in concentrated vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles reached 84.6%, and the detection and segmentation accuracy of the models was good. Therefore, the unmanned intelligent vehicle control system designed in this paper can meet the performance requirements of the vehicle control. No matter whether the given desired path is a straight line or a curve, the unmanned car can complete the path tracking control quickly, stably, and accurately.
