The magnetic properties of the metallopolymers were measured as a function of magnetic field strength (0–60 kOe) at 5 K and as a function of temperature (5–300 K) under an applied magnetic field of 30 kOe, respectively. The neodymium complex exhibits a hysteresis cycle at 5 K, the observed coercivity

To compare the effectiveness of two minimally invasive methods: minimally invasive plating osteosynthesis (MIPO) and expandable intramedullary nailing technique in treatment of middle third humeral ...shaft fractures.
The clinical data were retrospectively analyzed and compared from 33 cases with middle third humeral shaft fractures between May 2004 and December 2008. All the patients were divided into 2 groups: 14 patients were treated with MIPO technique (group A) and 19 with expandable intramedullary nailing technique (group B). In group A, there were 10 males and 4 females with an average age of 35 years (range, 21-51 years). The disease cause was traffic accident in 5 cases, tumbling in 6 cases, machine related trauma in 2 cases, crushed by a heavy object in 1 case. Six fractures were classified as AO type A, 6 as type B, and 2 as type C. The time from injury to operation was 3 to 11 days with an average of 5.9 days. In group B, there were 12 males and 7 females with an average age of 40 years (range, 19-68
An efficient frame interpolation method for 3D video is proposed in this paper. First, the motion vector field (MVF) of the interpolated frame is estimated using bidirectional motion estimation ...method. Then, the blocks in the interpolated frame are classified into occlusion and normal blocks according to the depth information. After that, the motion vector (MV) outliers of the normal blocks are detected and corrected. Furthermore, the MVs of the occlusion blocks are post-processed using a foreground matching method, and one occlusion block is segmented into foreground and background parts, which will be interpolated discriminatively. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves higher PSNR and SSIM values than traditional motion-compensated frame interpolation (MCFI) methods, and moreover, the visual quality of the interpolated frames using the proposed method is better.
Enantiopure acrylamide derivatives, N‐o‐(4‐methyl‐4,5‐dihydro‐1,3‐oxazol‐2‐yl) phenylacrylamide (MeOPAM), N‐o‐(4‐isopropyl‐4,5‐dihydro‐1,3‐oxazol‐2‐yl)phenylacrylamide (PriOPAM), and ...N‐o‐(4‐phenyl‐4,5‐dihydro‐1,3‐oxazol‐2‐yl)phenylacrylamide (PhOPAM), were synthesized and radically polymerized in the presence of rare earth metal trifluoromethanesulfonates (Ln(OTf)₃, Ln = La, Nd, Sm, and Y) to yield corresponding optically active polymers. Among these Lewis acids, Y(OTf)₃ was found to be most effective for increasing the isotactic specificity during the radical polymerizations when using n‐butanol as solvent. Also, the effect of the Lewis acids was significantly influenced by the ratio of Ln(OTf)₃ to monomer. The relationship of both chiroptical property and the chiral recognition with the stereoregularity was then examined for the resulting polymers having various tacticity by spectroscopic techniques such as NMR, fluorescence, and circular dichroism. The results indicated that the polymers rich in isotacticity exhibited a favorable enantioselective discrimination ability toward 1,1′‐bi‐2‐naphthol as evidenced by ¹H NMR study, where the characteristic hydroxyl proton signal was split into two peaks that ascribed respectively to the levo‐ and dextro‐isomer; furthermore, the splitting magnitude was linearly correlated with the diad isotacticity of the polymers.

To study the clinical characteristics and operative effect of hippocampus lesions.
We retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics and operative outcome of 44 patients with hippocampus ...lesions between August 2005 and April 2010.
Seizure attack was the initial symptom among 40 of the 44 patients. Pathological examinations revealed 18 gliomas, 9 cavernous malformations, 12 hippocampus sclerosis, 2 focal cortical dysplasia, 1 atypical hyperplasia, 1 injury glial scar, and 1 encephalomalacia. Thirteen patients received anterior medial temporal lobectomy and the other 31 received lesionectomy or selective amygdalohippocampectomy via transsylvian approach. An average of 15.7 month follow-up was accomplished in 37 patients. Postoperative epileptic outcomes were evaluated according to Engel classification: Grade I 73.0%(27/37), Grade II 13.5%(5/37), Grade III 10.8%(4/37) and Grade IV 2.7%(1/37). No perioperative death occurred. One patient experienced hemiplegia but recovered 8 months after the operation. No
A new technique of scanned image restoration is proposed to save a large amount of important old documents. Firstly, by using a high definition scanner, these obsolete documents are scanned page by ...page to get the HD images. Secondly, different processing techniques are adopted, including removing black holes, deepening handwriting, denoising, etc., so as to make the contents of the files clearer without changing its original contents. A large number of experiments show that this method is simple and feasible. Not only can this technique protect the original version of these old files, it can also facilitate people to access these documents clearly and efficiently.
