Helical magneto-cumulative generator (MCG) powered from explosive piezo-generator (EPG) is the most compact device among modern sources having output energy of 1-10 kJ. EPG matches well MCG on nature ...of their operation and design parameters; they are simple in use and do not require transforming and switching devices. The paper presents results of work on creating autonomous small energy source based on EPG and MCG. The energy on the piezogenerator output reaches ~25 J at the expense of double-sided shock loading of the EPG piezoceramic unit. The energy is transmitted to the helical MCG with the initial inductance of ~1000 μH. Constructively the energy source is constructed both in the form of a monoblock of ~2 dm 3 volume, and the form of two separate units, connected with high-voltage cable.

The paper presents an approach to modeling scenes composed of multiple volumes with a possibility of a fast navigation through such a scene as well as interactive editing of volumes in it. This work ...is oriented towards an artistic application that includes selection and editing of new shapes for further production in real material. The objects are edited in terms of interactive carving and metamorphosis operations. Initial shapes are represented as functionally defined 3D volume models with implicit surfaces. The metamorphosis generates a variety of shapes one of which can be selected by an artist. Once the artist is satisfied with the metamorphosis results, he/she can perform carving on its surface to fine tune an overall appearance. Interactive visualization is based on the isosurface polygonization with some optimizations for interactive object editing. The implementation is efficient enough to be able to maintain interactive rate with all operations even on an ordinary personal computer with an average graphic card.
Function representation (FRep) allows for the construction of quite complex shapes, such as isosurfaces of real-valued functions composed using functionally defined primitives and operations. ...Calculating such functions in complex cases can be very time-consuming. Interactive extraction and visualization of isosurfaces for them can hardly be imagined. In this paper, we present a method for interactive navigation through a "sculpture garden" containing non-intersecting FRep objects defined in terms of the specialized high-level language HyperFun. Before the actual isosurface extraction and visualization occurs, the objects are voxelized on a regular 3D grid with the possibility of further adaptive voxelization. The polygonization employs a hierarchical representation of the voxelized data and a view-dependent isosurface reconstruction at different levels of detail. To speed up the extraction process, an isosurface is constructed only in the visible part of the data set, with its updates performed incrementally as the observer moves. Due to the low pre-processing costs required for isosurface mesh construction, it is possible to visualize time-dependent objects, if the hardware is capable of calculating the updates in real time.
