The development of eye tracking-based applications has witnessed a number of advancements over the past few years. As a result, a number of low cost commercial remote vision-based eye trackers ...started to appear in the market. Consequently, a number of research communities started to explore the feasibility of extending the eye-tracking capabilities beyond single computer screen and utilize it in multi-screen setup. One of the main challenges for the wide adoption of such eye trackers in multi-screen setup, is their limitations when it comes to an intuitive and reliable way for tracking human eye movements across these multiple screens without losing much of the eye tracking data itself. In this work, a novel data-driven approach based on deep recurrent neural networks for a reliable and responsive switching mechanism between low cost multi-screen eye trackers is proposed. Our approach has achieved a competent results in terms of higher accuracy and lower positive rate in detecting accurately the screen the subject is attending to with F1 measure score of 85%.
A research program was conducted to study the behavior of different drainable base and subbase materials used by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Two construction sites were chosen from ...this program to be built with different base course materials. Site I (ATB-90–19.56) consisted of ODOT 306 cement-treated, ODOT 308 asphalt-treated, and ODOT 304 sections. Site II (ATB-90-0.00) consisted of 307-NJ, 307-IA, 307-CE, ODOT 306 cement-treated, ODOT 304, and ODOT 308 asphalt-treated sections. Time domain reflectometry (TDR) probes were installed in subgrade and unbound subbase layers to provide continuous monitoring of the moisture variation in the pavement system. The laboratory calibration for TDR probes resulted in the development of suitable calibration coefficients for the studied materials and more accurate conversion of TDR field measurements to the in situ water content. The monitored moisture content variation was used to determine the drainage efficiency of different drainable base materials used by ODOT. The treated base materials (cement and asphalt) exhibited better drainage performance than did the other unbound materials.

A simple reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method coupled with a photodiode array detector (PAD) has been developed and validated for the analysis of hederacoside C, ...the marker of ivy plant, in Ivy-Thyme cough syrup. Separation of hederacoside C was achieved using a Phenomenex-Gemini C18 column isothermally at 40°C. A mobile phase system constituted of solvent A (water: acetonitrile: orthophosphoric acid (85%), 860 : 140 : 2 v/v) and solvent B (acetonitrile: orthophosphoric acid (85%), 998 : 2 v/v) was used, at gradient conditions, at a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min. Analysis was performed using UV-detection (205 nm). The method was linear over the range (0.03–0.15) mg/mL of hederacoside C (r=0.9992). Repeatability and intermediate precision were acceptable (RSD <2%). Limits of detection (LOD) and quantitation (LOQ) were 0.011 and 0.032 mg/mL, respectively. Percentage recovery was found to lie between 99.69% and 100.90% (RSD <2%). The method was also proved to be specific (peak-purity coefficient=0.996).

In the last decade, Arab countries achieved significant progress in financial sector reforms in recognition that economic growth is often associated with increasing financial deepening. In light of ...these developments, it is important to investigate the relationship between financial development and economic growth. This study applies a model developed by Levine in 1997 using panel data for eleven Arab countries during the period 1980-2001. Then an improved version of a model is applied by adding new four financial indicators in the second stage of the empirical test to measure the effect of public credit ratios on economic growth. We apply a Hausman's specification test to examine the fixed and random effects in the panel data. Under the application of Levine (1997) model, the results show that all financial indicators are insignificant and do not affect economic growth. The modified model shows that only public credit to domestic credit (PUBCR) indicator has a significant and positive effect on economic growth, indicating the dominance of the public sector in economic activities and the financial sectors are still underdevelopment and need more efforts to be able to exert its functions effectively in the Arab countries.
