A proposed high energy Future Circular Hadron-Electron Collider would provide sufficient energy in a clean environment to probe di-Higgs production. Using this channel we show that the azimuthal ...angle correlation between the missing transverse energy and the forward jet is a very good probe for the non-standard hhh and hhWW couplings. We give the exclusion limits on these couplings as a function of integrated luminosity at a 95% C.L. using the fiducial cross sections. With appropriate error fitting methodology we find that the Higgs boson self coupling could be measured to be ghhh(1)=1.00−0.17(0.12)+0.24(0.14) of its expected Standard Model value at s=3.5(5.0) TeV for an ultimate 10 ab−1 of integrated luminosity.

One of the most striking transformations in post-secondary education in Germany is the growing orientation towards diversity management. Diversity is a relatively new idea for German institutions of ...higher education and has, in contrast to the North American realm, no historical roots in equity policies in Germany. Approaches, as will be argued, currently follow either a “heterogeneity” or an “economic” rationale, which are both limited in their effectiveness of addressing inequality beyond gender. This contribution advances a conceptualization of diversity that is tethered to the idea of equity but view gender relations as one of the lingering inequalities. By discussing the practices of gender equality and diversity management at institutions of higher education in Germany together with their theoretical framing, it will be shown that a conceptualization of diversity can benefit from the paradigms of gender in order to establish a consistent strategy of dismantling inequalities in higher education.

Questions of diversity become popular in German universities. Measures, aiming to meet the diversity of university members, become anchored institutionally. However, although a large number of projects are carried out, there is a lack of a concept and a clearly defined strategy. For further development of those conceptual questions, a look at Canadian universities is helpful. The contribution presents the historical-political understanding of diversity in Canadian society and, based on document analysis and interviews, three normative frameworks of diversity at three major universities are elaborated on: representation, equity and human rights. It is suggested that German universities connect with these frames to develop a coherent strategy. (zhb/text adopted).
What knowledge do professors have about gender and equality issues and how do they implement equality in their key areas of activity - as managers in research, teaching and academic ...self-administration? The aim of the volume is to shed light on the interaction of the knowledge and attitudes of professors on the one hand and their action orientations with regard to equality on the other .
The exceptional centrality of security to the national existence of Israel has led scholars to investigate the impact of the military on the political and civil system. Nevertheless, this research ...had been limited in scope. It has been claimed that the army is a `citizen army', that Israel is a `nation in arms', and that therefore the army does not reflect a specific group in society. The newer `generation' of scholars emphasizes the effect of armed conflict on the larger society, on its attitudes and values. One subject, however, which has been neglected so far is the gender perspective. This is astonishing because Israel is unique in the sense that Jewish Israeli women have been conscripted since the foundation of the state of Israel. In China women are also conscripted, but as not even 10 percent of each age group are called up this is negligible. Thus - from the perspective of sheer numbers - Israel serves as a very interesting case study of the impact of an advanced integration of female citizens in the defence forces on society and on the defence forces themselves. The article examines whether, although (Jewish) women are conscripted, the military in Israel is the main force in shaping male identity and whether military service can be understood as a rite of passage to male adulthood. It also analyses whether the dominance of security and of the military discourse leads to gender inequality in society at large.

Several scholars view the military to be a most forceful institution in constructing images of masculinity in society at large. Usually, military service can be described as a rite of passage to male ...adulthood, teaching toughness, and trying to eliminate what is regarded to be effeminate. Israel serves as an interesting case study to investigate the connections between gender and the military. Although participation in the military is compulsory for Jewish men and women and motivation to serve in the military is high, meaning that the military socializes most Jewish Israelis, this national duty is highly gendered. The author discusses the historical background of the Israeli Jewish ideal of manliness, its reinforcement by times of conflict and war, and its impact on the private and the public sphere.

Discusses the narratives that define how Israeli & Palestinian women are bound up with their national objectives: the narrative that sees the land as female ("eroticized nationalism") & the narrative ...of defense as men's national duty vis-a-vis the narrative of reproduction as women's. Both the Israeli-Zionist & the Palestinian societies use the strategy of "nation first, women after." It is shown that different historical backgrounds & myths of these societies have similar effects on the situation of women. In Israeli society, the obsession with security has neutralized women's efforts to achieve equality with men; in Palestinian society, liberation & resistance have neutralized efforts to advance women's issues. 30 References. A proposed high energy Future Circular Hadron-Electron Collider would provide sufficient energy in a clean environment to probe di-Higgs production. Using this channel we show that the azimuthal ...angle correlation between the missing transverse energy and the forward jet is a very good probe for the non-standard \(hhh\) and \(hhWW\) couplings. We give the exclusion limits on these couplings as a function of integrated luminosity at a \(95\)\% C.L. using the fiducial cross sections.
