A mesoporous silica support was synthesized using the sol-gel method from trichlorosilane. There is a tendency for the specific surface area and the proportion of silica particles mesopores to ...increase during all stages of sol-gel synthesis. It has been shown that the insertion of hexane and toluene, as additional solvents, into the structure-forming polyethylene glycol, makes it possible to regulate the pore size and specific surface area of silica. Silica functionalization was carried out using SILP technology. The activities of the catalytic systems based on polymer and inorganic supports immobilized by imidazole-based ionic liquids during the trichlorosilane disproportionation reaction were compared. There is a tendency for the monosilane yield for catalytic systems based on an inorganic support to increase. We identified the most promising catalyst in terms of monosilane yield and proposed a bifunctional catalyst that exhibited activity in two parallel reactions: trichlorosilane disproportionation and silicon tetrachloride hydrogenation.

In conclusion, the present article demonstrates the identification of PA96 as a lead compound for the future development of this compound into a clinically used drug.

This paper presents the solution of the inverse M/EEG problem using machine learning algorithms. The data on which the algorithm was trained were obtained as a result of solving the forward problem. ...The data are generated using a recurrent model of neuronal brain activity, where the consecutive excitation of sources in time of closely spaced sources is based on a stochastic Markov chain. The dipole activation model is expected to increase the accuracy of the M/EEG inverse problem solution by reducing its indeterminacy by replacing uncorrelated excitations of sources whose magnetic field is statically distributed on the brain surface with their spatially related time series. Machine learning algorithms in this case can recognize the correlation of source excitations and solve the problem in real time. The application of a method for localization of neuronal activity of the brain that takes into account the spatiotemporal character of the excitations can presumably provide a more complete picture of the brain functioning.
This research is aimed at analyzing existing plugging compositions and developing a new plugging composition based on phenol-formaldehyde resin. This paper presents the results of studies of a ...hardening composition based on phenol-formaldehyde resin for repair and insulation work in wells. The plugging composition consists of two parts: Component “A” (resin and additives) and Component “B” (hardener). A resol-type water-soluble phenol-formaldehyde resin was selected for testing. The resin was additionally modified with special additives to improve performance properties. A mixture of acids was chosen as a hardener. Concentrations of resin and hardener were selected to ensure optimal loss of fluidity of the composition for different temperatures. The main physicochemical properties of the plugging composition were determined. The elastic-strength characteristics of the developed composition after curing at various temperatures (Poisson’s ratio, Young’s modulus, and compressive strength) were assessed. It has been experimentally proven that samples based on phenol-formaldehyde resin do not collapse completely under load but undergo longitudinal and transverse deformations. As the amount of hardener in the system increases, the compressive strength decreases. The presence of the elastic-strength properties of cementing compositions based on synthetic resins distinguishes them favorably from hardening compositions based on cement and microcement.

The Arctic seas are now of particular interest due to their prospects in terms of hydrocarbon extraction, development of marine transport routes, etc. Thus, various geohazards, including those ...related to seismicity, require detailed studies, especially by instrumental methods. This paper is devoted to the ocean-bottom seismographs (OBS) based on broadband molecular–electronic transfer (MET) sensors and a deployment case study in the Laptev Sea. The purpose of the study is to introduce the architecture of several modifications of OBS and to demonstrate their applicability in solving different tasks in the framework of seismic hazard assessment for the Arctic seas. To do this, we used the first results of several pilot deployments of the OBS developed by Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IO RAS) and IP Ilyinskiy A.D. in the Laptev Sea that took place in 2018–2020. We highlighted various seismological applications of OBS based on broadband MET sensors CME-4311 (60 s) and CME-4111 (120 s), including the analysis of ambient seismic noise, registering the signals of large remote earthquakes and weak local microearthquakes, and the instrumental approach of the site response assessment. The main characteristics of the broadband MET sensors and OBS architectures turned out to be suitable for obtaining high-quality OBS records under the Arctic conditions to solve seismological problems. In addition, the obtained case study results showed the prospects in a broader context, such as the possible influence of the seismotectonic factor on the bottom-up thawing of subsea permafrost and massive methane release, probably from decaying hydrates and deep geological sources. The described OBS will be actively used in further Arctic expeditions.

A special problem in the surgery of rectal cancer is connected with a need for appropriate removal of intestine parts, along with the tumor, including the fragment close to the sphincter. To ...determine the length of fragments to remove, it is necessary to reveal areas without changes in molecule functioning, specific for tumor. The purpose of the present study was to investigate functioning the proteasomes, the main actors in protein hydrolysis, in patient rectal adenocarcinoma and different intestine locations. Chymotrypsin-like and caspase-like activities, open to complex influence of different factors, were analyzed in 43-54 samples by Suc-LLVY-AMC- and Z-LLE-AMC-hydrolysis correspondingly. Both activities may be arranged by the decrease in the location row: cancer→adjacent tissue→proximal (8-20 cm from tumor) and distal (2 and 4 cm from tumor) sides. These activities did not differ noticeably in proximal and distal locations. Similar patterns were detected for the activities and expression of immune subunits LMP2 and LMP7 and expression of 19S and PA28αβ activators. The largest changes in tumor were related to proteasome subtype containing LMP2 and PA28αβ that was demonstrated by native electrophoresis. Thus, the results indicate a significance of subtype LMP2-PA28αβ for tumor and absence of changes in proteasome pool in distal fragments of 2-4 cm from tumor.

We present first known case of kidney transplantation from deceased donor who was retrospectively diagnosed with COVID-19.
The recipient hadn't febrile and no other symptoms of acute respiratory ...disease during all hospital stay. No serum anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgM, IgG were detected before and during 6 weeks after surgery.
Repeated nasopharyngeal swabs rRT-PCR were negative during all the period. The patient was discharged with normal serum creatinine and doing well with no clinical or laboratory signs of COVID-19 after 8 months.
The presented clinical cases demonstrate the possibility of non-transmission of SARS-Cov-2 with renal graft.
