Rapid advances in industrial information integration methods have spurred tremendous growth in the use of enterprise systems. Consequently, a variety of techniques have been used for probing ...enterprise systems. These techniques include business process management, workflow management, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), grid computing, and others. Many applications require a combination of these techniques, which is giving rise to the emergence of enterprise systems. Development of the techniques has originated from different disciplines and has the potential to significantly improve the performance of enterprise systems. However, the lack of powerful tools still poses a major hindrance to exploiting the full potential of enterprise systems. In particular, formal methods and systems methods are crucial for modeling complex enterprise systems, which poses unique challenges. In this paper, we briefly survey the state of the art in the area of enterprise systems as they relate to industrial informatics.

AlphaFold2 has revolutionized protein structure prediction from amino‐acid sequence. In addition to protein structures, high‐resolution dynamics information about various protein regions is important ...for understanding protein function. Although AlphaFold2 has neither been designed nor trained to predict protein dynamics, it is shown here how the information returned by AlphaFold2 can be used to predict dynamic protein regions at the individual residue level. The approach, which is termed cdsAF2, uses the 3D protein structure returned by AlphaFold2 to predict backbone NMR NH S2 order parameters using a local contact model that takes into account the contacts made by each peptide plane along the backbone with its environment. By combining for each residue AlphaFold2's pLDDT confidence score for the structure prediction accuracy with the predicted S2 value using the local contact model, an estimator is obtained that semi‐quantitatively captures many of the dynamics features observed in experimental backbone NMR NH S2 order parameter profiles. The method is demonstrated for a set nine proteins of different sizes and variable amounts of dynamics and disorder.

High‐dielectric solvents were explored for enhancing the sulfur utilization in lithium–sulfur (Li−S) batteries, but their applications have been impeded by low stability at the lithium metal anode. ...Now a radical‐directed, lithium‐compatible, and strongly polysulfide‐solvating high‐dielectric electrolyte based on tetramethylurea is presented. Over 200 hours of cycling was realized in Li|Li symmetric cells, showing good compatibility of the tetramethylurea‐based electrolyte with lithium metal. The high solubility of short‐chain polysulfides, as well as the presence of active S3.− radicals, enabled pouch cells to deliver a discharge capacity of 1524 mAh g−1 and an energy density of 324 Wh kg−1. This finding suggests an alternative recipe to ether‐based electrolytes for Li−S batteries.
Li−S batteries: A lithium‐compatible and strongly polysulfide‐solvating high‐dielectric electrolyte based on tetramethylurea was proposed to direct a solvation‐mediated radical reaction pathway. It enables Li−S pouch cells to deliver an energy density of 324 Wh kg−1. Key: red=electrochemical, black=chemical, dashed=diffusion/precipitation.

In the present study, cellulose acetate (CA) nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning technique. Alkaline hydrolysis was introduced for conversion of CA nanofibers to cellulose nanofibers. ...Nanofibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Furthermore, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were incorporated on regenerated cellulose nanofibers with different concentrations and used as an antimicrobial agent against Gram negative Escherichia coli BH5 α, Gram positive Spectromyces arenus, and Aspergillus flavus. Strong inhibition activities were determined.

As an emerging technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) revolutionized the global network comprising of people, smart devices, intelligent objects, data, and information. The development of IoT is ...still in its infancy and many related issues need to be solved. IoT is a unified concept of embedding everything. IoT has a great chance to make the world a higher level of accessibility, integrity, availability, scalability, confidentiality, and interoperability. However, how to protect IoT is a challenging task. System security is the foundation for the development of IoT. This article systematically reviews IoT cybersecurity. The key considerations are the protection and integration of heterogeneous smart devices and information communication technologies (ICT). This review provides useful information and insights to researchers and practitioners who are interested in cybersecurity of IoT, including the current research of IoT cybersecurity, IoT cybersecurity architecture and taxonomy, key enabling countermeasures and strategies, major applications in industries, research trends and challenges.
In recent years, the Internet of Things (IoT) has made great progress. The interconnection between IoT and the Internet enables real-time information processing and transaction implementation through ...heterogeneous intelligent devices. But the security, the privacy, and the reliability of IoT are key challenges that limit its development. The features of the blockchain, such as decentralization, consensus mechanism, data encryption, and smart contracts, are suitable for building distributed IoT systems to prevent potential attacks and to reduce transaction costs. As a decentralized and transparent database platform, blockchain has the potential to raise the performance of IoT security to a higher level. This article systematically analyzes state of the art of IoT security based on the blockchain, paying special attention to the security features, issues, technologies, approaches, and related scenarios in blockchain-embedded IoT. The integration and interoperation of blockchain and IoT is an important and foreseeable development in the computational communication system.
Some scholars hold that dynamic capability is one of the key in searching for competitive advantage in strategic management. But there are still debates on the definition and effects of dynamic ...capabilities and the role of environmental dynamism. In the context of Chinese-like emerging economies, from a strategic process perspective, this study defines dynamic capability as the firms' potential to systematically solve problems, formed by its propensity to sense opportunities and threats, to make timely decisions, and to implement strategic decisions and changes efficiently to ensure the right direction, and also explores the relationship between dynamic capabilities and competitive advantage and, the role environmental dynamism plays. With an empirical study of 217 enterprises in China, this study finds that dynamic capabilities do significantly positively affect competitive advantage, and environmental dynamism is a driver rather than a moderator.

The analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra for the comprehensive and unambiguous identification and characterization of peaks is a difficult, but critically important step in all NMR ...analyses of complex biological molecular systems. Here, we introduce DEEP Picker, a deep neural network (DNN)-based approach for peak picking and spectral deconvolution which semi-automates the analysis of two-dimensional NMR spectra. DEEP Picker includes 8 hidden convolutional layers and was trained on a large number of synthetic spectra of known composition with variable degrees of crowdedness. We show that our method is able to correctly identify overlapping peaks, including ones that are challenging for expert spectroscopists and existing computational methods alike. We demonstrate the utility of DEEP Picker on NMR spectra of folded and intrinsically disordered proteins as well as a complex metabolomics mixture, and show how it provides access to valuable NMR information. DEEP Picker should facilitate the semi-automation and standardization of protocols for better consistency and sharing of results within the scientific community.
