Laryngeal cancer has the highest mortality rate among head and neck tumours. RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most plentiful and variable in mammalian mRNA. Yet, the m6A regulatory mechanism ...underlying the carcinogenesis or progression of LSCC remains poorly understood.
The m6A RNA methylation quantification kit was used to detect tissue methylation levels. m6A microarray analysis, mRNA transcriptomic sequencing (mRNA-seq), and proteomics were used to determine RBM15, TMBIM6, and IGF2BP3. Immunohistochemical (IHC), quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot were used to investigate RBM15, TMBIM6, and IGF2BP3 expression in tissue samples and cell lines. The biological effects of RBM15 were detected both in vitro and in vivo. The combination relationship between RBM15/IGF2BP3 and TMBIM6 was verified by RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay, Methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (MeRIP-seq), RNase Mazf, and luciferase report assay. RNase Mazf was used to determine the methylation site on TMBIM6 mRNA. Hoechst staining assay was used to confirm the apoptotic changes. The actinomycin D verified TMBIM6 stability.
The global mRNA m6A methylation level significantly increased in LSCC patients. RBM15, as a "writer" of methyltransferase, was significantly increased in LSCC and was associated with unfavorable prognosis. The knockdown of RBM15 reduced the proliferation, invasion, migration, and apoptosis of LSCC both in vitro and in vivo. The results were reversed after overexpressing RBM15. Mechanically, TMBIM6 acted as a downstream target of RBM15-mediated m6A modification. Furthermore, RBM15-mediated m6A modification of TMBIM6 mRNA enhanced TMBIM6 stability through IGF2BP3-dependent.
Our results revealed the essential roles of RBM15 and IGF2BP3 in m6A methylation modification in LSCC, thus identifying a novel RNA regulatory mechanism.

This paper proposes an 'electric vehicle' mode for ICBC and an 'airplane mode' for Citibank. Further, it describes the difficulties encountered by the Chinese banking industry and proposes some feasible ways to upgrade. 'Technology power' will become the core competitive concept for the financial institutions of the future.
Reserve sites for coastal nuclear power plants are gradually being depleted, prompting a shift towards the development of inland nuclear power stations. A new cooling system based on the integration ...of multiple cooling sources using a hybrid dry–wet cycle is proposed to achieve a balance between energy and water consumption for inland nuclear power stations. Comparative studies among all the available cooling systems were further conducted to analyze the cooling performance and economic viability. The case study results indicate that, in comparison to relative humidity, the cooling performance and circulating water consumption of cooling systems are more susceptible to changes in dry-bulb temperature. In arid and water-scarce regions, a Combined Natural Draft Hybrid Cooling System generally exhibits a monthly average circulating water consumption rate that is more than 270 kg/s lower than that of the natural draft wet cooling system, with an average monthly back pressure reduction of 0.11 kPa. When the dry-bulb temperature exceeds 13 °C, the net profit of wet cooling surpasses that of hybrid cooling. However, this scenario undergoes a reversal as the dry-bulb temperature decreases and local water prices rise. It is emphasized that hybrid cooling demonstrates minimal impact when subjected to changes in environmental conditions, offering extensive regional applicability.

Abstract In recent years, there has been a gradual increase in the performance of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) cameras. These cameras have gained popularity as a viable alternative ...to charge-coupled device cameras in a wide range of applications. One particular application is the CMOS camera installed in small space telescopes. However, the limited power and spatial resources available on satellites present challenges in maintaining ideal observation conditions, including temperature and radiation environment. Consequently, images captured by CMOS cameras are susceptible to issues such as dark current noise and defective pixels. In this paper, we introduce a data-driven framework for mitigating dark current noise and bad pixels for CMOS cameras. Our approach involves two key steps: pixel clustering and function fitting. During the pixel clustering step, we identify and group pixels exhibiting similar dark current noise properties. Subsequently, in the function fitting step, we formulate functions that capture the relationship between dark current and temperature, as dictated by the Arrhenius law. Our framework leverages ground-based test data to establish distinct temperature–dark current relations for pixels within different clusters. The cluster results could then be utilized to estimate the dark current noise level and detect bad pixels from real observational data. To assess the effectiveness of our approach, we have conducted tests using real observation data obtained from the Yangwang-1 satellite, equipped with a near-ultraviolet telescope and an optical telescope. The results show a considerable improvement in the detection efficiency of space-based telescopes.
Induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) have been derived from various somatic cell populations through ectopic expression of defined factors. It remains unclear whether iPSCs generated from different ...cell types are molecularly and functionally similar. Here we show that iPSCs obtained from mouse fibroblasts, hematopoietic and myogenic cells exhibit distinct transcriptional and epigenetic patterns. Moreover, we demonstrate that cellular origin influences the in vitro differentiation potentials of iPSCs into embryoid bodies and different hematopoietic cell types. Notably, continuous passaging of iPSCs largely attenuates these differences. Our results suggest that early-passage iPSCs retain a transient epigenetic memory of their somatic cells of origin, which manifests as differential gene expression and altered differentiation capacity. These observations may influence ongoing attempts to use iPSCs for disease modeling and could also be exploited in potential therapeutic applications to enhance differentiation into desired cell lineages.
This paper proposes a novel event-driven architecture for enhancing edge-based vehicular systems within smart transportation. Leveraging the inherent real-time, scalable, and fault-tolerant nature of ...the Elixir language, we present an innovative architecture tailored for edge computing. This architecture employs MQTT for efficient event transport and utilizes Elixir’s lightweight concurrency model for distributed processing. Robustness and scalability are further ensured through the EMQX broker. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through two smart transportation case studies: a traffic light system for dynamically adjusting signal timing, and a cab dispatch prototype designed for high concurrency and real-time data processing. Evaluations on an Apple M1 chip reveal consistently low latency responses below 5 ms and efficient multicore utilization under load. These findings showcase the system’s robust throughput and multicore programming capabilities, confirming its suitability for real-time, distributed edge computing applications in smart transportation. Therefore, our work suggests that integrating Elixir with an event-driven model represents a promising approach for developing scalable, responsive applications in edge computing. This opens avenues for further exploration and adoption of Elixir in addressing the evolving demands of edge-based smart transportation systems.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a deadly cancer, mainly presenting in southeast and east Asia. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) play essential roles in cancer progression. Exosomes are critical for ...intercellular communication. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify the functional lncRNAs in NPC and its relevant mechanisms.
Data from public databases were utilized to screen for functional lncRNAs in NPC. Functional and mechanical experiments were performed to determine the role of lncRNAs in NPC and its relative molecular mechanisms. Exosomes derived from NPC cells were isolated to determine their function in tumor-associated macrophages.
LncRNA TP73-AS1 was increased in NPC cells and tissues and was associated with a poor prognosis. TP73-AS1 overexpression promoted proliferation, colony formation, and DNA synthesis of NPC cells while TP73-AS1 knockdown showed opposite roles. TP73-AS1 could directly bind with miR-342-3p. MiR-342-3p overexpression attenuated the effect of TP73-AS1 in NPC cells. Furthermore, TP73-AS1 was transferred by exosomes to promote M2 polarization of macrophages. Lastly, exosomal TP73-AS1 enhanced the motility and tube formation of macrophages.
Together, this study suggests that TP73-AS1 promotes NPC progression through targeting miR-342-3p and exosome-based communication with macrophages and that TP73-AS1 might be an emerging biomarker for NPC.

Supply fluctuation is one of the most significant factors that cause jitter in high-speed I/O links. The traditional SPICE simulation or measuring method for power supply induced jitter is quite ...time-consuming and draining on resources. The I/O buffer information specification (IBIS) model is a popular standard for electronic behavioral specifications of digital integrated circuit I/O characteristics. Analytic jitter transfer functions for supply fluctuations are derived by solving two-order differential equations based on IBIS current versus voltage characteristics and pin package parameters. Then, the total time interval error induced by power and ground noise is obtained in both frequency domain and time domain. The method is validated by comparing the analytic calculation results with HSPICE simulated results for a DDR4 output buffer.
Published studies have shown contradictory results regarding the relationship between somatometric parameters and varicoceles. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the ...possible effects of age, height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) on the presence and severity of varicoceles.
Databases including EMBASE, MEDLINE, PubMed, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Web of Science, and Google Scholar were systematically searched to identify relevant articles published up to March 2020. Two researchers independently identified eligible articles and extracted data. Cochran's Q statistic and I
statistics were used to assess heterogeneity. Meta-analysis was performed using StataSE 12.0 software (StataCorp LP, USA). Random-effects models were used to obtain the weighted mean differences (WMDs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Publication bias was assessed using Begg's funnel plot and Egger's regression test.
The search strategy produced 272 articles, of which 18 articles were eligible according to the inclusion/exclusion criteria. A total of 56,325 patients with varicocele and 1,334,694 patients without varicocele were included in the meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of somatometric parameters on the presence and severity of varicocele. The overall results demonstrated that the presence of varicoceles was significantly associated with height (WMD = 1.41, 95% CI = 1.07 to 1.74, P < 0.001) and inversely correlated with BMI (WMD = - 1.35, 95% CI = -1.67 to - 1.03, P < 0.001) but not with age (WMD = -0.93, 95% CI = -2.19 to 0.33, P = 0.149) or weight (WMD = 0.24, 95% CI = -2.24 to 2.72, P = 0.850). The severity of varicocele was inversely correlated with increased BMI but not with age.
The presence of varicoceles was significantly associated with height and inversely correlated with BMI.

Curcumin (1E,6E) ‑1,7‑bis(4‑hydroxy‑3‑methoxyphenyl) hepta‑1,6‑diene‑3,5‑ dione is a natural polyphenol derived from the rhizome of the turmeric plant
. Accumulated evidences have presented ...curcumin's function in terms of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, and especially anti-tumor activities. Studies demonstrated that curcumin could exert anti-tumor activity
multiple biological signaling pathways, such as PI3K/Akt, JAK/STAT, MAPK, Wnt/β-catenin, p53, NF-ĸB and apoptosis related signaling pathways. Moreover, Curcumin can inhibit tumor proliferation, angiogenesis, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), invasion and metastasis by regulating tumor related non-coding RNA (ncRNA) expression. In this review, we summarized the roles of curcumin in regulating signaling pathways and ncRNAs in different kinds of cancers. We also discussed the regulatory effect of curcumin through inhibiting carcinogenic miRNA and up regulating tumor suppressive miRNA. Furthermore, we aim to illustrate the cross regulatory relationship between ncRNA and signaling pathways, further to get a better understanding of the anti-tumor mechanism of curcumin, thus lay a theoretical foundation for the clinical application of curcumin in the future.
