Electrochemical nonenzymatic glucose sensing meets the challenge of excellent selectivity and the minimum poisoning effect of the electrode. Bimetallic alloys based on Pt have distinct synergistic ...characteristics and offer remarkable anti-poisoning capability and electrocatalytic performance for sensitive and selective glucose sensing at low potential. Bimetallic PtAu alloy nanomaterials loaded into nanocarbon carrier (PtAu/C) were successfully fabricated. The morphology and structure of PtAu bimetallic alloy were observed. The voltammetric response of the PtAu/C modified electrodes towards glucose oxidation in NaOH revealed significant enhanced compared with Pt/C or Au/C. PtAu (1:1)/C with 0.4 wt% content of Pt was used for selective glucose detection at a low potential of −0.33 V (vs. SCE). Interfering substances revealed inert and ignorable analytical influence on glucose detection. Furthermore, DPV was applied for sensitive determination of glucose. A linear relationship was found between peak current and glucose concentration within the range of 0.01–10 mM with the limit of detection (LOD) of 3 μM. Validation in human serum samples indicated that the PtAu (1:1)/C (0.4 wt% Pt) modified electrode accurately detected glucose. The PtAu bimetallic alloy exhibited a bright prospect for the glucose analysis of real samples.
•Bimetallic PtAu alloy with homogeneous distribution of Pt and Au was fabricated.•PtAu/C shows catalytic and anti-poisoning capability for nonenzymatic glucose sensing•Mechanism of enhanced capability of PtAu is due to its strong synergistic effect.•PtAu/C for glucose sensing at low potential shows advantage of anti-interference.•This strategy for glucose sensing is sensitive, selective, stable, and reproducible.

Difficulty in wound healing is one common complication of diabetes mellitus. The study explored whether the therapeutic effect of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) on diabetic ...ulcer wound was enhanced by the activation of the Wnt signaling pathway.
Rat diabetic model was established by intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin (STZ). hUCMSCs were purified and seeded on the collagen-chitosan laser drilling acellular dermal matrix (CCLDADM) scaffold, which was subsequently implanted into the cutaneous wound of normal and diabetic rats, followed by daily injection of Wnt signaling pathway agonist (Wnt3a) or antagonist (sFRP3) at the edge of the scaffold. Wound healing was checked on days 7, 14, and 21, and the fibrous tissue deposition, capillaries, and epidermal regeneration at the wound were examined by hematoxylin-eosin staining. The hUCMSCs-CCLDADM scaffold was cultured in vitro and treated with Wnt3a or sFRP3, followed by evaluation of cell proliferation, cell proliferation rate, survival status, and altered protein levels in the Wnt signaling pathway using BrdU staining, CCK-8 assay, live/dead staining, and Western blotting, respectively.
On days 7 and 14 postoperatively, the speed of wound healing was significantly lower in diabetic rats than that in normal control rats. This phenomenon was significantly improved by the activation of the Wnt signaling pathway that also elevated the fibrous protein deposition and the abundance of capillary in the granulation tissue. Conversely, blockade of Wnt signaling slowed the healing of skin wound in diabetic rats. The activation of Wnt signaling pathway promoted the proliferation and differentiation and decreased the apoptosis of hUCMSCs, thereby elevating the number of living hUCMSCs on the CCLDADM scaffold, while the suppression exerted a contrary effect.
The activation of the Wnt signaling pathway promotes the healing of diabetic skin wound by the regulation of proliferation and differentiation of hUCMSCs on the CCLDADM scaffold.
The improvement of the efficiency of medical and health services is of great significance for improving the high-quality and efficient medical and health services system and meeting the increasingly ...diverse health needs of residents. Based on the panel data of 13 cities in Jiangsu Province, this research analyzed the relative effectiveness of medical and health services from 2015 to 2019 using the super efficiency slack-based measure-data envelopment analysis model, and the Malmquist index method was used to explore the changes in the efficiency of medical and health services from a dynamic perspective. Furthermore, the spatial autocorrelation analysis method was used to verify the spatial correlation of medical and health services efficiency. In general, there is room for improvement in the efficiency of medical and health services in 13 cities in Jiangsu Province. There are obvious differences in regional efficiency, and there is a certain spatial correlation. In the future, the medical and health services efficiency of China’s cities should be improved by increasing the investment in high-quality medical and health resources, optimizing their layout and making full use of the spatial spillover effects between neighboring cities to strengthen inter-regional cooperation and exchanges.
Drainage basins are fundamental elements of the earth’s surface, and quantifying their geomorphic features is essential to understand the interaction between tectonics, climatic, and surface ...processes. In this study, 40 basins of the Greater Khingan Mountains were selected for hypsometric analysis using a 90-m Shuttle Radar Topography Mission digital elevation model. The hypsometric integral values range from 0.13 to 0.44, with an average value of 0.30, and most hypsometric curves exhibit remarkable downward concave shapes. This feature indicates that most drainage basins and the landscape of the Greater Khingan Mountains are approaching the old-age development stage, consistent with the present moderately stable tectonic activity. The spatial distribution of the χ values is characterized by unambiguously higher values on the western flank than those on the eastern flank in the middle and southern segments of the Greater Khingan Mountains. We interpret this as an indicator of the disequilibrium across the main divide. The interpolation of the erosion rates and channel steepness for the catchments on both sides of the Greater Khingan Mountains revealed westward divide migration, which is consistent with the lower χ values, a higher slope, and local relief observed along the eastern flanks. Considering the long-term tectonic evolution pattern between the Greater Khingan Mountains and Songliao Basin, the landscape decay and slow westward divide migration were mostly driven by the inherited Cenozoic tectonics and precipitation gradient across East Asia.
While there is growing global concern about the impact of antibiotic residues on emergence and enhancement bacteria's resistance, toxicity to natural organisms, and, ultimately, public health, a ...concise picture of measured environmental concentrations of antibiotic occurrence in multiple environmental matrices, particularly in solid matrices (e.g., sludge, soil, and sediments) is still elusive, especially for China. In this paper, we present an up-to-date dataset of the distribution of antibiotic occurrence in solid environmental matrices in China, derived from 210 peer-reviewed literature published between 2000 and 2020. We extracted geographical sampling locations and measured concentration associated with antibiotic occurrence reported in English and Chinese original publications, and applied quality-control procedures to remove duplicates and ensure accuracy. The dataset contains 6929 records of geo-referenced occurrences for 135 antibiotics distributed over 391 locations distinguished at four levels of scale i.e., provincial, prefectural, county, and township or finer. The geographical dataset provides an updated map of antibiotic occurrence in solid environmental matrices in China and can be used for further environmental health risk assessment.
By contrast with the rich, wurztite-related, one-dimensional nanostructure of ZnO and its wide variety of applications, there only exists a few methods for the controlled and designed synthesis of ...one-dimensional CdSe nanostructures. Here, we describe a low-temperature and directed preparation of CdSe nanowires in a simple one-step, template-free electrochemical deposition. The preparation takes advantage of both the wurtzite structure characteristics and current-induced preferential orientation. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) patterns clearly verify that the prepared CdSe nanowires have a single-crystal wurtzite structure and grow along the 0001 (c-axis). With the discovery of other one-dimensional CdSe nanostructures and CdS nanowires, it is anticipated that this electrochemical synthesis method can be extended to other nanostructures of CdSe and to other II−VI semiconductors and can also be developed into a systematic synthesis for nanostructured semiconductors. The average diameter of the thus prepared CdSe nanowires is larger than those synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and solution−liquid−solid (SLS) methods. This may be an advantage in some applications, for example, as the light-harvesting material in photovoltaic cells. Organic/inorganic hybrid photovoltaic cells fabricated with CdSe nanowires and PEDOT:PSS give a good photovoltaic performance, demonstrating the attractive potential of CdSe nanowire applications in photovoltaics.

Polyaniline/Au nanocomposite modified nanoelectrodes based dopamine nanosensors have been developed. The polyaniline/Au nanocomposite film was deposited at the exposed end of the nanoelectrode tip by ...a surface-graft polymerization method to fabricate a desired modified nanoelectrode. With this modified method, the nanocomposites firmly adhered on the electrode surface and the modified nanoelectrode still had a sharp tip, which was proved by the scanning electron microscope. The electrochemical measurement shows the polyaniline/Au nanocomposite modified film has a good and stable redox activity in neutral solution. The modified nanoelectrode exhibits the excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidations of ascorbic acid and dopamine in phosphate buffer solution. The separation of anodic peak potential of dopamine and ascorbic acid reaches 250
mV. Differential pulse voltammograms results illustrate that dopamine can be selectively determined in the presence of thousands times higher concentration of ascorbic acid with a wide linear range from 200 to 0.3
μM and the detection limit is 0.1
μM. This study provides a simple method for the construction of dopamine nanosensors that have a good sensitivity, wide linear range and stable response. The nanosensors are hopeful to be applied to the detection of dopamine in vivo.

n-ZnO nanorods/p-CuSCN heterojunction light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have been fabricated using low-temperature electrochemical method. The
I–
V characteristics of the heterojunction LEDs show obvious ...rectifying behavior. The typical room-temperature electroluminescence spectra obtained from this heterostructure device under forward bias exhibit a strong visible emission across the spectral region from 350 to 600
nm centered at 530
nm. The intensity of the visible emission rises more quickly than that of the ultraviolet emission with the increasing bias. Photocurrent and Raman spectra reveal that the growth process of CuSCN can induce more surface states and defects in the ZnO nanorods, which confirms the enhancement of visible emission from the ZnO nanorods/p-CuSCN heterostructure. Compared with the ZnO-only LEDs, a p-type CuSCN layer used as a hole-transporting material can balance the electrons and holes injection rates in the heterojunction LEDs. The processing procedure in this work is a low-cost, low-temperature and convenient way to fabricate ZnO-based heterojunction light-emitting diodes.

High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) has the highest mortality rate among female reproductive system tumors. Accurate preoperative assessment is crucial for treatment planning. This study aims to ...develop multitask prediction models for HGSOC using radiomics analysis based on preoperative CT images.
This study enrolled 112 patients diagnosed with HGSOC. Laboratory findings, including serum levels of CA125, HE-4, and NLR, were collected. Radiomic features were extracted from manually delineated ROI on CT images by two radiologists. Classification models were developed using selected optimal feature sets to predict R0 resection, lymph node invasion, and distant metastasis status. Model evaluation was conducted by quantifying receiver operating curves (ROC), calculating the area under the curve (AUC), De Long's test.
The radiomics models applied to CT images demonstrated superior performance in the testing set compared to the clinical models. The area under the curve (AUC) values for the combined model in predicting R0 resection were 0.913 and 0.881 in the training and testing datasets, respectively. De Long's test indicated significant differences between the combined and clinical models in the testing set (
= 0.003). For predicting lymph node invasion, the AUCs of the combined model were 0.868 and 0.800 in the training and testing datasets, respectively. The results also revealed significant differences between the combined and clinical models in the testing set (
= 0.002). The combined model for predicting distant metastasis achieved AUCs of 0.872 and 0.796 in the training and test datasets, respectively. The combined model displayed excellent agreement between observed and predicted results in predicting R0 resection, while the radiomics model demonstrated better calibration than both the clinical model and combined model in predicting lymph node invasion and distant metastasis. The decision curve analysis (DCA) for predicting R0 resection favored the combined model over both the clinical and radiomics models, whereas for predicting lymph node invasion and distant metastasis, DCA favored the radiomics model over both the clinical model and combined model.
The identified radiomics signature holds potential value in preoperatively evaluating the R0, lymph node invasion and distant metastasis in patients with HGSC. The radiomics nomogram demonstrated the incremental value of clinical predictors for surgical outcome and metastasis estimation.
