Blue photoluminescene (PL) from chemically derived graphene oxide has been observed. The PL is attributed to radiative recombination of electron–hole pairs in isolated “molecular” sp2 domains, which ...are present within the carbon–oxygen sp3 matrix in chemically derived graphene oxide. The PL intensity is correlated to the evolution of sp2 domains during reduction.

ObjectivesIntimate partner violence (IPV) against women remains a major global public health problem with harmful consequences for individuals and society. People’s lifestyles have been greatly ...affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigated the prevalence of and relationship between IPV and anxiety and depression in pregnant Chinese women during the pandemic.DesignCross-sectional study.SettingThis investigation was conducted in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China from 15 September to 15 December 2020.ParticipantsA total of 3434 pregnant women were screened with the Abuse Assessment Screen Questionnaire to evaluate IPV and General Anxiety Disorder and Patient Health Questionnaire to evaluate symptoms of anxiety and depression, respectively. Pregnant women with perinatal health records at Shenzhen District Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospitals who consented to participate were enrolled. Women with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia, mania or substance dependence and pregnant women who refused to participate were excluded. Data were analysed with the χ2 test and by logistic regression analysis.ResultsThe prevalence of IPV among pregnant women was 2.2%. Mental violence was the most common type of violence (2.2%), followed by physical (0.6%) and sexual (0.7%) violence. The prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms was 9.8% and 6.9%, respectively. After adjusting for covariates, there was a statistically significant association between IPV and prenatal anxiety (OR=4.207, 95% CI: 2.469 to 7.166) and depression (OR=3.864, 95% CI: 2.095 to 7.125).ConclusionsIPV increased the risk of prenatal anxiety and depression in pregnant women in China during the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts should be made by the government and civil society to promote long-lasting antenatal interventions to ensure the safety and protect the mental health of pregnant women.

The coexistence of stronger face- and weaker corner-shared connecting manners affords the feasibility of tailoring the 3D framework into low-dimensional skeletons, which provide a new structural prototype to modify the semiconducting properties similar to those of classic perovskites.

Self-sampling HPV test and thermal ablation are effective tools to increase screening coverage and treatment compliance for accelerating cervical cancer elimination. We assessed the ...cost-effectiveness of their combined strategies to inform accessible, affordable, and acceptable cervical cancer prevention strategies.
We developed a hybrid model to evaluate costs, health outcomes, and incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICER) of six screen-and-treat strategies combining HPV testing (self-sampling or physician-sampling), triage modalities (HPV genotyping, colposcopy or none) and thermal ablation, from a societal perspective. A designated initial cohort of 100,000 females born in 2015 was considered. Strategies with an ICER less than the Chinese gross domestic product (GDP) per capita ($10,350) were considered highly cost-effective.
Compared with current strategies in China (physician-HPV with genotype or cytology triage), all screen-and-treat strategies are cost-effective and self-HPV without triage is optimal with the most incremental quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) gained (220 to 440) in rural and urban China. Each screen-and-treat strategy based on self-collected samples is cost-saving compared with current strategies (-$818,430 to -$3540) whereas more costs are incurred using physician-collected samples compared with current physician-HPV with genotype triage (+$20,840 to +$182,840). For screen-and-treat strategies without triage, more costs (+$9404 to +$380,217) would be invested in the screening and treatment of precancerous lesions rather than the cancer treatment compared with the current screening strategies. Notably, however, more than 81.6% of HPV-positive women would be overtreated. If triaged with HPV 7 types or HPV16/18 genotypes, 79.1% or 67.2% (respectively) of HPV-positive women would be overtreated with fewer cancer cases avoided (19 cases or 69 cases).
Screen-and-treat strategy using self-sampling HPV test linked to thermal ablation could be the most cost-effective for cervical cancer prevention in China. Additional triage with quality-assured performance could reduce overtreatment and remains highly cost-effective compared with current strategies.

Chinese mahogany (Toona sinensis) is a woody plant that is widely cultivated in China and Malaysia. Toona sinensis is important economically, including as a nutritious food source, as material for ...traditional Chinese medicine and as a high‐quality hardwood. However, the absence of a reference genome has hindered in‐depth molecular and evolutionary studies of this plant. In this study, we report a high‐quality T. sinensis genome assembly, with scaffolds anchored to 28 chromosomes and a total assembled length of 596 Mb (contig N50 = 1.5 Mb and scaffold N50 = 21.5 Mb). A total of 34,345 genes were predicted in the genome after homology‐based and de novo annotation analyses. Evolutionary analysis showed that the genomes of T. sinensis and Populus trichocarpa diverged ~99.1–103.1 million years ago, and the T. sinensis genome underwent a recent genome‐wide duplication event at ~7.8 million years and one more ancient whole genome duplication event at ~71.5 million years. These results provide a high‐quality chromosome‐level reference genome for T. sinensis and confirm its evolutionary position at the genomic level. Such information will offer genomic resources to study the molecular mechanism of terpenoid biosynthesis and the formation of flavour compounds, which will further facilitate its molecular breeding. As the first chromosome‐level genome assembled in the family Meliaceae, it will provide unique insights into the evolution of members of the Meliaceae.

This work presents polymer photovoltaic devices based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and TiO2 nanorod hybrid bulk heterojunctions. Interface modification of a TiO2 nanorod surface is conducted to ...yield a very promising device performance of 2.20% with a short circuit current density (J sc) of 4.33 mA/cm2, an open circuit voltage (V oc) of 0.78 V, and a fill factor (FF) of 0.65 under simulated A.M. 1.5 illumination (100 mW/cm2). The suppression of recombination at P3HT/TiO2 nanorod interfaces by the attachment of effective ligand molecules substantially improves device performance. The correlation between surface photovoltage and hybrid morphology is revealed by scanning Kelvin probe microscopy. The proposed method provides a new route for fabricating low-cost, environmentally friendly polymer/inorganic hybrid bulk heterojunction photovoltaic devices.

We mainly investigate the rational solutions and

-wave resonance solutions for the (3+1)-dimensional Kudryashov–Sinelshchikov equation, which could be used to describe the liquid containing gas ...bubbles. With appropriate transformations, two kinds of bilinear forms are derived. Employing the two bilinear equations, dynamical behaviors of nine district solutions for this equation are discussed in detail, including bright rogue wave-type solution, dark rogue wave-type solution, bright W-shaped solution, dark W-shaped rational solution, generalized rational solution and bright-fusion, dark-fusion, bright-fission, and dark-fission resonance solutions. In addition, the generalized rational solutions, which depending on two arbitrary parameters, have an interesting structure: splitting from two peaks into three peaks.
