Biliary tract cancer (BTC) is an invasive adenocarcinoma affecting the hepatobiliary system, but high recurrence rates highlight the need for more effective adjuvant approaches. The modified Glasgow ...prognostic score (mGPS) has been explored as an independent prognostic indicator in patients with BTC. However, consensus on its prognostic value is lacking. This meta-analysis aimed to comprehensively assess the association between mGPS and diverse clinical outcomes in BTC by systematically analyzing relevant studies.
A systematic search approach was used to look for eligible papers published until June 2023 in PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase, with a focus on overall survival (OS) and disease-free/recurrence-free survival (DFS/RFS). The prognostic potential of mGPS was assessed using hazard ratios (HRs) with corresponding 95% CIs.
A total of 15 papers comprising 2447 patients were included in this meta-analysis. The results demonstrated that, in patients with BTC, the high mGPS was associated with poorer OS (HR=1.49, 95% CI=1.35-1.65, P<0.001) and DFS/RFS (HR=3.23, 95%CI=1.98-5.26, P=0.193).
According to this meta-analysis, our study found that high mGPS was associated with poorer OS and DFS/RFS in patients with BTC.

In this paper, a 3-dimensional method of characteristics is used to calculate the ion flow field around a metal building in the vicinity of bipolar HVDC transmission lines. The surface charges are ...introduced to make sure that the surface of the metal building is equipotential. An improved iterative method is proposed to solve the ion flow field. A reduced-scale test under laboratory conditions is carried out to verify the calculation results. Comparison of the results with those by Deutsch Assumption shows that although the two groups of results on the ground are in good agreement, the electric fields in space are different because the method of characteristics considers the effect of space charges on the direction of the electric field. The ion flow field around a metal building in the vicinity of a 800 kV transmission line was calculated with the method and discussed.
Operation of SF 6 gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) produces very fast transient overvoltage, which may interfere with the secondary system through many paths. As more and more smart devices are placed ...near GIS, their anti-EMI capability becomes more and more important. In response to the above problems, this paper carried out on-site measurement on the EMI in the secondary system during the operation of a 500 kV GIS. The EMI in the cable connecting the cabinet near the GIS and the control center 60 m away was paid attention to. By simultaneously measuring the electric field in space, the current through the grounding lead of the GIS, the EMI in the cables with different grounding methods, and the transient ground potential difference between the cabinet and the control center, the effects of different interference paths such as the spatial electromagnetic coupling and grounding system were analyzed. Results show that, the GIS operation will not only generate a spatial electric field, but also induce a circulating current on its grounding leads, resulting in an apparent ground potential difference on the grounding grid. When the shielding of the cable is grounded at both ends, the EMI is mainly determined by the spatial electric field and current in the shielding. As for the cable with single end grounded, the core-shielding voltage contains stronger high frequency components than that when the cable is grounded with both ends. The ground potential difference is the main source of core-ground voltage below 3 MHz when the cable is grounded at single end. Above 3 MHz the space electric field is the main source.
Considering that the existing video saliency prediction methods still have limitations in spatiotemporal correlation learning between features and saliency regions, this paper proposes a ...spatiotemporal module for video saliency prediction based on self-attention. The proposed model emphasizes three essential problems as follows. First, we raise a multi-scale feature-fusion network (MFN) for effective feature integration. The framework can extract and fuse features from four scales at low memory cost. Second, we view the task as a global evaluation of the correlation on pixel level to predict human visual attention in task-driven scenes more accurately. An adapted transformer encoder is designed for spatiotemporal correlation learning. Finally, we introduce DConvLSTM to learn the context in videos. Experimental results show that the proposed model achieves state-of-the-art performance on both driving scenes and natural scenes with multi-motion information. And our model also achieves very comparable performance especially in natural scenes with multi-category objects. It proves our method is practicable in both data-driven and task-driven conditions.

Charges resulting from corona on dc transmission lines will be driven by the electric field to the space and form the ion flow field. Some space charges will accumulate on the surface of the ...insulated buildings in the vicinity of high-voltage direct current transmission lines and may lead to human body shock. An improved iterative method is used to solve the ion flow field and accumulated charges according to the boundary condition that the normal component of electric field on the insulated building surface is zero. The accumulated charges are calculated by a 3-D method of characteristics based on the known ion flow field, which avoids large-scale numerical calculation. The calculation results are in a good agreement with the measured data of reduced-scale test under laboratory conditions.
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is generally susceptible to the population, highly infectious, rapidly transmitted, and highly fatal. There is a lack of specific drugs against the virus at ...present and vaccination is the most effective strategy to prevent infection. However, studies have found that some groups, particularly patients with diabetes, show varying degrees of weak immune reactivity to various COVID-19 vaccines, resulting in poor preventive efficacy against the novel coronavirus in patients with diabetes. Therefore, in this study, patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who had weak immune response to the COVID-19 vaccine in recent years were analyzed. This article reviews the phenomenon, preliminary mechanism, and related factors affecting weak vaccine response in patients with T2DM, which is expected to help in the development of new vaccines for high-risk groups for COVID-19.
Abstract
The outer membrane proteins (OMPs) of Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum (T. pallidum), the etiological agent of the sexually transmitted disease syphilis, have long been a hot research ...topic. Despite many hurdles to studying the pathogen, especially the inability to manipulate T. pallidum in vitro genetically, considerable progress has been made in elucidating the structure, pathogenesis and functions of T. pallidum OMPs. In this review, we integrate this information to garner fresh insights into the role of OMPs in the diagnosis, pathogenicity and vaccine development of T. pallidum. Collectively, the essential scientific discussions herein should provide a framework for understanding the current status and prospects of T. pallidum OMPs.
This review summarizes information about selected outer membrane proteins of Treponema pallidum and highlights their possible use as part of a vaccine cocktail.
To solve the disposal problems of carbide slag (CS), soda residue (SR), and red mud (RM) solid wastes, a new type of cemented paste backfill (CPB) was prepared with CS, SR, and RM solid wastes. The ...mixing proportion for the CPB was optimized by combining the Box‒Behnken design (BBD) response surface method and the satisfaction function method. The strength formation mechanism for the CPB was analyzed with physical and mechanical property tests, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), etc. The safety of the CPB was evaluated with heavy metal leaching testing. The results showed that the 28-day unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of CPB first increased and then decreased with increasing CS/RM (0.2 ~ 0.6) and SR/RM (0.2 ~ 0.6); the optimum mixing ratios were CS/RM = 0.45 and SR/RM = 0.37, and the solid mass concentration was 64.75%; dense calcium silicate (aluminum) hydrate (C-S–H/C-A-S–H) bound to the solid particles of red mud and filled pores to provide early strength for the CPB, laminar interwoven Friedel’s salt (Fs), ettringite and portlandite hydration products provided late strength for the CPB; and the leaching concentrations of five heavy metals (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and Cr) in the solidified CPB were greatly reduced and far below the leaching limits specified in China’s Quality Standard for Groundwater (GB/T 14848–2017).

When a substation suffers from a lightning strike, beside the interference from the space, there are two main ways in which the transient disturbance affects the secondary cable through the grounding ...system: the uneven potential distribution and the mutual inductance between the secondary cable and the ground conductor. In this article, a circuit model of grounding grid is developed taking into consideration the mutual inductance between the secondary cable and the ground conductor. While a circuit model of the secondary cable is established with the consideration of uneven ground potential distribution and the mutual inductance between the secondary cable and the ground conductor. Then, the two models are unified to calculate the transient disturbance in the secondary cable due to a lightning strike on the grounding grid. The feasibility of the method is verified through experiments. Then, the effect of the ground potential difference of the grounding grid and its mutual induction with the cable is analyzed. The results show that both the mutual inductance between the cable and the grid and the uneven ground potential distribution greatly affect the transient disturbance in secondary cable.
The key to the development of microwave deicing technology in asphalt pavement engineering is to improve the heating efficiency using less magnetite aggregate with regards to the aggregate resource ...shortage. In this work, four asphalt mixtures with different magnetite layer thickness (MALT) by volume of the limestone aggregate were prepared. The microwave heating capacity test of magnetite aggregate was carried out firstly. Surface temperature, heat distribution, radiation depth, deicing time, and thermal diffusion for asphalt mixtures were also investigated. Results show that 4.75mm–9.5 mm is considered as the most suitable sieve size according to its higher microwave heating efficiency (MHE) and the highest proportion in aggregate gradation. The reduction of MALT in asphalt mixture can significantly improve the MHE ascribed to higher thermal conversion and utilization, related to the lower microwave reflectivity and shorter propagation path of internal heat to the surface obtained through adjusting MALT. The heat distribution of asphalt mixture with thinner MALT was more unevenly, which can be mainly attributed to the higher heat generating rate. Besides, the heat generated by the upper layer can be quickly transferred to limestone aggregate layer and thus the heat depth can not be used to represent the depth of radiation. In addition, both MALT and initial temperature have effect on the heat diffusion. The reason behind the higher deicing efficiency for asphalt mixture with thinner MALT was owing to both higher MHE and higher heat transfer efficiency.
