•Surface subsidence found in Cerro Pabellon geothermal plant.•Slow rates of subsidence.•Different sources of deformation may explain the location of the subsidence within the aquifer.
In 2017, Cerro ...Pabellón in northern Chile became the first high-enthalpy geothermal power facility to go into service in South America. We evaluated Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data containing 201 SAR scenes from the Sentinel-1A/B satellite mission between 2014 and 2021 to quantify the time-dependent surface deformation in the vicinity of the Cerro Pabellón geothermal plant. Using ascending and descending satellite orbits and the InSAR small baseline subset (SBAS) approach, we detected subsidence rates up to 6.3 mm/yr along the line of sight near the geothermal area, which began in 2017 and persisted through 2020 at which time the deformation rate decreased. We believe that geothermal activity may be responsible for the observed deformation based on the timing of the deformation – there was no detectable deformation in the area until the start of operations of the power plant. We invert the source of ground deformation using multiple analytic elastic half-space models (one or more spheroi ds or a sill-like source). The depth of the inferred sources is between 370 and 660 meters and is similar to the depth of the reservoir as determined by surface geophysics and well data. InSAR time series have not yet detected any tectonic deformation on the faults that encircle the graben where the geothermal plant is located, nor at the graben’s periphery. While the seismic records from a regional network near the geothermal field, analyzed between March 2017 and August 2020, show microseismicity in the graben near the power plant, accurate positions cannot be computed due to sparse and inadequate seismic data. Therefore, any possible correlation between the observed seismicity and the geothermal operations remains uncertain. This study emphasizes the need for an improved seismic network to obtain a better understanding of the geothermal-tectonic interplay.

Systematic reviews allow health decisions to be informed by the best available research evidence. However, their number is proliferating quickly, and many skills are required to identify all the ...relevant reviews for a specific question.
We screen 10 bibliographic databases on a daily or weekly basis, to identify systematic reviews relevant for health decision-making. Using a machine-based approach developed for this project we select reviews, which are then validated by a network of more than 1000 collaborators. After screening over 1,400,000 records we have identified more than 300,000 systematic reviews, which are now stored in a single place and accessible through an easy-to-use search engine. This makes Epistemonikos the largest database of its kind.
Using a systematic approach, recruiting a broad network of collaborators and implementing automated methods, we developed a one-stop shop for systematic reviews relevant for health decision making.

We introduce and study a category of algebras strongly connected with the structure of the Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebras of the endomorphism algebras of Bott-Samelson bimodules. We develop a series of ...techniques that allow us to obtain optimal presentations for the many Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebras appearing in the context of the Diagrammatic Soergel Category.

The 2011–2012 eruption at Cordón Caulle, Chile offers an exceptional opportunity to investigate topographic evolution of a laccolith, lava flows, and tephra during and after rhyolitic eruptions ...using satellite TanDEM-X and Plèiades data. We find distinct phases: rapid surface uplift from the laccolith and tephra (June–August 2011) and lava (June 2011–March 2012), followed by a reduction in the elevation of the laccolith and tephra (up to 19 m yr−1) until February 2013, and slower subsidence of all deposits until 2019 (the most recent data). The spatial distribution of subsidence-to-uplift ratios shows different volcanic and geomorphological processes occurring (degassing, cooling, crystallization, lateral movement, compaction, erosion). Pre-eruptive river channels showed elevation increases of up to 10–50 m due to tephra deposition, but this tephra was largely removed within three to four years. This research shows the potential of repeating high-resolution remote sensing elevation data to elucidate volcanic landscape evolution and yields insights into the co- and post-eruptive evolution of deposits.
The purpose of this study was to provide evidence-based recommendations of intermittent androgen deprivation therapy (IADT) compared with continuous androgen deprivation therapy (CADT) for men with ...prostate cancer (PCA).
We conducted a comprehensive search in MEDLINE, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and ECONLIT, from the database inception to December 2017. We adhered to the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation framework to assess the quality of the evidence and to formulate recommendations.
We included one systematic review with 15 trials as well as three additional studies that assessed IADT versus CADT, all of them focused on PCA patients in advanced stages. The findings did not show differences for critical and important outcomes, including adverse events. Trials reported the benefits of IADT in terms of selected domains of health-related quality of life, although with high heterogeneity. Evidence quality was considered moderate or low for most of the assessed outcomes. We identified a patient preference study reporting a high preference for IADT, due to issues related to quality of life, general well-being, and side effects, among others. We did not identify economic studies comparing these regimes. We formulate four recommendations: one no-recommendation, one conditional recommendation, and two good practice points.
For men in early stages of PCA, it is not possible to make any recommendation about the preferable use of IADT or CADT due to the lack of available evidence. For men in advanced stages of the disease, an IADT should be considered as soon as clinically reasonable (weak recommendation and low certainty of the evidence). Clinicians should discuss the risks and benefits of IADT and CADT with their patients, taking into account their values and preferences.
We study the structure of the Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebras of a family of idempotent truncations of the generalized blob algebras. We obtain optimal presentations in terms of generators and relations, ...monomial basis and dimension formula.
We introduce a type B analogue of the nil Temperley-Lieb algebra in terms of generators and relations, that we call the (extended) nil-blob algebra. We show that this algebra is isomorphic to the ...endomorphism algebra of a Bott-Samelson bimodule in type A˜1. We also prove that it is isomorphic to an idempotent truncation of the classical blob algebra.

Ketamine is a N-Metil-D-Aspartate receptor antagonist that has been used as adjuvant in the acute postoperative pain management because of its analgesic properties. However, its role is not clearly ...determined. To answer this question, we searched in Epistemonikos database, which is maintained by screening multiple information sources. We identified 19 systematic reviews including 226 randomized trials overall. We extracted data and generated a summary of findings table using the GRADE approach. We concluded intravenous ketamine probably has little or no effect in reducing postoperative pain.
