Esta revisão da literatura, busca alertar não apenas para a importância do reconhecimento da condição mas principalmente trazer o que há de mais recente no melhor manejo dos pacientes que padecem com dores mais de 14 dias por mês e que ainda vêem os analgésicos como única forma de tratamento.
Abstract The present study aimed to evaluate the use of organic and inorganic minerals in Cobb500 broiler breeder diet and its effects on the performance. The birds were housed in an experimental ...house at Poultry Laboratory of the Federal University of Santa Maria with 20 floor pens of 4.61m2 each. The experiment was conducted between 51st and 65th weeks of age of birds. The design was completely randomized with four treatments and five pen replicates with 22 hens and 2 roosters each. The treatments evaluated were: PI=100% mineral inorganic premix; PO= 100% mineral organic premix: PI+PO= 70% mineral inorganic premix + 30% mineral organic premix and PI+Zn= 100% mineral inorganic premix, except zinc mineral, that was 70% inorganic form and 30% organic form. The following parameters of performance and egg quality were evaluated: laying rate, body weight, egg, albumen and yolk weight, yolk color and specific gravity of eggs. These parameters were performed one day per week throughout the experimental period to evaluated egg quality. Under the conditions and time that the experiment was conducted, the use of organic minerals had no significant effect on the performance and egg quality parameters evaluated in the broiler breeders.
The heterogeneity of tinnitus is substantial. Its numerous pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical manifestations have hampered fundamental and treatment research significantly. A decade ago, the ...Tinnitus Research Initiative introduced the Tinnitus Sample Case History Questionnaire, a case history instrument for standardised collection of information about the characteristics of the tinnitus patient. Since then, a number of studies have been published which characterise individuals and groups using data collected with this questionnaire. However, its use has been restricted to a clinical setting and to the evaluation of people with tinnitus only. In addition, it is limited in the ability to capture relevant comorbidities and evaluate their temporal relationship with tinnitus.
Here we present a new case history instrument which is comprehensive in scope and can be answered by people with and without tinnitus alike. This ‘European School for Interdisciplinary Tinnitus Research Screening Questionnaire’ (ESIT-SQ) was developed with specific attention to questions about potential risk factors for tinnitus (including demographics, lifestyle, general medical and otological histories), and tinnitus characteristics (including perceptual characteristics, modulating factors, and associations with co-existing conditions). It was first developed in English, then translated into Dutch, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, and Swedish, thus having broad applicability and supporting international collaboration.
With respect to better understanding tinnitus profiles, we anticipate the ESIT-SQ to be a starting point for comprehensive multi-variate analyses of tinnitus. Data collected with the ESIT-SQ can allow establishment of patterns that distinguish tinnitus from non-tinnitus, and definition of common sets of tinnitus characteristics which might be indicated by the presence of otological or comorbid systemic diseases for which tinnitus is a known symptom.

Objectives
This randomized controlled clinical trial evaluated the efficacy of dental floss as a supplement to toothbrushing in support of gingival health in adults.
Materials and methods
...Seventy-five systemically healthy subjects, non-smokers, without loss of interproximal periodontal attachment and with more than 15% of the interproximal sites presenting with gingival bleeding were randomized into two groups either performing toothbrushing supplemented by dental floss (TB + DF) or toothbrushing (TB) alone. Over a 60-day period, participating subjects weekly received oral hygiene instruction and supervised personal and professional plaque removal by applying the devices assigned for the group. Study subjects were instructed to perform toothbrushing twice daily (group TB + DF and TB) and use dental floss once daily (group TB + DF). Gingival Index (GI) and Plaque Index (PlI) were evaluated at baseline, and at 30 and 60 days. Linear mixed models were used to compare PlI and GI intra- and intergroup means.
Results
Interproximal gingival inflammation (GI = 2 and mean GI) was significantly reduced in both groups by day 30, reduction in inflammation being significantly greater in the TB + DF compared with the TB alone group. No further significant alterations were observed by day 60. Moreover, reduction in gingival inflammation (GI = 2) was greater in the anterior compared with the posterior dentition.
Conclusions
Interproximal gingival inflammation may be significantly reduced by toothbrushing alone, the effect being significantly enhanced when toothbrushing is combined with dental floss.
Trial registration
The protocol registration was filed on May 9, 2018 (# 538,311,716.5.0000.5346) on ClinicalTrials.gov and after complete registration, a NCT number was generated (NCT04909840). Since the date in May 2018 when the protocol preregistration was filed, no change in methodology, primary outcome, and data analysis has occurred.
Clinical relevance
Optimized personal oral hygiene routines in individuals without loss clinical attachment interproximal should include dental floss as a supplement to toothbrushing in support of gingival health.
