H2 receptor antagonists are commonly employed to manage gastro-esophageal reflux and peptic ulcer diseases with a very low incidence of side effects. Herein, we report an extremely rare incidence of ...famotidine-induced acute confusion in a patient with end-stage renal failure. We also discuss the pharmacokinetic properties of famotidine and its interplay with compromised renal function to result in neuropsychiatric manifestations, highlighting the importance of dosage adjustment in individuals with renal insufficiency.

Global demand for food has always been on the increase due to the increase of the population in this world. Intercropping is one of the alternatives of agronomic practices that is widely practiced in ...ensuring food security and enhancing yield stability. Strip, mixed, and relay intercropping can be practiced to increase crop production. In addition to achieving a successful intercropping system, factors such as suitable crops, time of sowing, maturity of the crop, and plant density need to be considered before and during planting. Besides, practiced intercropping becomes a useful cropping system to increase efficient resource utilization, enhance biodiversity, promote soil health, enhance soil fertility, erosion control, yield advantage, weed, pest, and disease control, insurance against crop failure, ecosystem and modification of microclimate, market instability, and increase farmers income. Crop productivity in any types of cropping system implemented relies primarily on the interception of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) of crop canopy and conversion of intercepted radiation into biomass or known as radiation use efficiency (RUE). Both PAR and RUE are important measurements that have significant roles in crop growth and development in which the accessibility of these radiation dynamics is connected with the leaf area index and crop canopy characteristics in maximizing yield as well as total productivity of the crop component in intercropping systems.

water shortage is the greatest significant reason controlling crop yield that harmfully affects fruit production, boll shedding, lint yield and fiber properties quality in cotton plants. Objectives: ...this study was carried out at Sakha Agricultural Research Station, Kafr El-Sheikh, Agric. Res. Center, Egypt, during 2014 and 2015 growing seasons. A study was undertaken in cotton (G. barbadense L.) to detect the magnitude of genetic divergence among parental cotton genotypes and their F1s cross combinations and to select most suitable combinations for tolerant water deficient. Results and conclusion: the data showed that the first eight main principal components with eigen value more than one are extracted from the complicated components, the total cumulative variance of these eight factors amount for about 85.28% of the total multivariate variance. Suggesting that these PCA scores might be used to summarize the original variables in any further analysis of the data. The female parent 10,229 formed wide cluster having wide divergent distance from the other groups. On the same trend, the extra-long varieties Giza 96 and Giza 45 formed unique groups, cluster number 8 and cluster 1 nearly related. Cluster number 7 and cluster 4 which consisted of two genotypes for each characterized by susstable to water deficit conditions. The cross combinations Giza 77 x Dandra, Giza 77 x Pima S6, Giza 96 x Australy and Minufy x Dandra grouped at the same cluster, however the cross combinations Giza 86 x Dandra and Giza 68 × 10,229 classified into two different clusters. The data revealed that the inter cluster distance was higher than the intra cluster, indicating wide genetic divergent among the studied genotypes. Principal components analysis is useful in identifying and most influential characters affecting genetic variation of population.

To investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of severe bronchial asthma in Chinese people over 14 years old.
According to the multi-stage random cluster sampling methods, a total of ...164 215 subjects were visited by a questionnaire in the epidemiology survey from eight provinces (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Liaoning, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan provinces) located in seven regions (north, northeast, east, central China, south, southwest and northwest) of China from February 2010 to August 2012. A total of 2 034 were diagnosed as asthma. The clinical characteristics and related risk factors of patients with severe asthma in China were analyzed.
Among all asthma patients, 560 were newly diagnosed, accounting for 27.5% (560/2 034) and the percentage of previously confirmed patients was 72.5% (1 474/2 034). A total of 145 were eligible for severe asthma, accounting for 9.8% (145/1 474) of previously confirmed asthmatics and 7.1% (145/2 034) of all asthmatics. 83.5% (121/145) severe asthmatics
The electric wrench is widely used in the screw connection of the equipment installation, their transmission system usually use the planet gears. In view of the problems existed in the dynamic ...simulation of planetary gear system trains, the virtual prototy ping technology is used to simulate the dynamic of electric wrench. Firstly, the three-dimensional model of the planetary transmission trains is established by using SolidWorks software. Secondly, the model is introduced into the ADAMS software to carry ou t the dynamic simulation analysis, the dynamic force of the X axis and the Y axis direction are obtained. The dynamic force is synthesized by using the Matlab software and the dynamic circle force is obtained. Finally, using the model and formula of gear s tatic calculation, the circle force in the static state is obtained. Comparison of the both, the result shows that the dynamic circle force fluctuates around the value of the static circle force according to the rotation period, which fits the characteristics of dynamic changes for acting force. The work lays a foundation for the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of planetary transmission train in the next step.
Changes of sucrose metabolism in the subtending leaf to cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) boll at different fruiting branch nodes (FBN) were investigated. Two cotton cultivars, Kemian 1 and Sumian 15, ...were grown in the field at three planting dates in 2009 and 2011. Cotton planted on different dates but experiencing similar climatic factors flowered on the same date and had similar boll opening dates, but had different FBN. In the present study, boll weight and carbohydrate content were significantly affected by both flowering date (FD) and FBN. However, only cystolic fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (cy-FBPase) and sucrose-phosphate synthase (SPS) activities of the sucrose-metabolizing enzymes were influenced significantly by FBN, and the influence of FBN was lower with delayed FD. In general, effects of FBN on boll weight and sucrose metabolism in the subtending leaf were higher at the optimal FD (13 August) than those at later FD (9 September 2009 and 2 September 2011), and total fruiting branches were used to characterize cotton physiological age in the current study. Sucrose transport capacity (Tn) and SPS in the subtending leaf had significantly positive correlations with boll weight at 17–24 days post anthesis (DPA), a crucial period when boll weight was significantly affected. In addition, higher SPS activity was favourable for sucrose export and boll weight during boll development.
Using a data set of 2.93 fb taken at a center-of-mass energy root s = 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we perform a search for an extra U(1) gauge boson, also denoted as a ...dark photon. We examine the initial state radiation reactions e(+)e(-) -> e(+)e(-) gamma(ISR) and e(+)e(-) -> mu(+)mu(-) gamma(ISR) for this search, where the dark photon would appear as an enhancement in the invariant mass distribution of the leptonic pairs. We observe no obvious enhancement in the mass range between 1.5 and 3.4 GeV/c(2) and set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the mixing strength of the dark photon and the Standard Model photon. We obtain a competitive limit in the tested mass range.

Low back pain is common and associated with a considerable burden to patients and society. There is uncertainty regarding the relative benefit of paracetamol and diclofenac and regarding the ...additional effect of pain medication compared with advice only in patients with acute low back pain. This trial will assess the effectiveness of paracetamol, diclofenac and placebo for acute low back pain over a period of 4 weeks. Furthermore, this trial will assess the additional effectiveness of paracetamol, diclofenac and placebo compared with advice only for acute low back pain over a period of 4 weeks.
The PACE Plus trial is a multi-center, placebo-blinded, superiority randomized controlled trial in primary care, with a follow-up of 12 weeks. Patients with acute low back pain aged 18-60 years presenting in general practice will be included. Patients are randomized into four groups: 1) Advice only (usual care conforming with the clinical guideline of the Dutch College of General Practitioners); 2) Advice and paracetamol; 3) Advice and diclofenac; 4) Advice and placebo. The primary outcome is low back pain intensity measured with a numerical rating scale (0-10). Secondary outcomes include compliance to treatment, disability, perceived recovery, costs, adverse reactions, satisfaction, sleep quality, co-interventions and adequacy of blinding. Between group differences for low back pain intensity will be evaluated using a repeated measurements analysis with linear effects models. An economic evaluation will be performed using a cost-effectiveness analysis with low back pain intensity and a cost-utility analysis with quality of life. Explorative analyses will be performed to assess effect modification by predefined variables. Ethical approval has been granted. Trial results will be released to an appropriate peer-viewed journal.
This paper presents the design of the PACE Plus trial: a multi-center, placebo-blinded, superiority randomized controlled trial in primary care that will assess the effectiveness of advice only, paracetamol, diclofenac and placebo for acute low back pain.
