The subject of this article are selected German one-word idioms that describe the human trait of anxiety. At the center of the investigation is the question of the synonymy of the phraseologisms to ...be analyzed. The aim of the study is to show to what extent the analyzed phraseological units can be regarded as synonymous and consequently as interchangeable. The analysis is carried out on the basis of the data taken from the DeReKo. The background to the research on this question is provided by considerations over the definition of single-word idioms, which aim to show that, despite their monolexicality, German single-word idioms should be included in the subject area of phraseology. For this, various arguments are presented and discussed in the theoretical part of the article. The appearance of the synonyms in the lexicon is then explained in more detail, and the manner in which the synonymy is manifested in the phraseolexicon is also discussed. It is pointed out that phraseological units can be synonymous both with one another and with other units of the lexicon. However, it should be noted that only the first perspective of the synonymy of phraseological units is examined in the article.

Specialistic language research has an important place in linguistics these days. This is due to the fact that a noticeable tendency can be observed that specialistic languages are used more and more ...in everyday life. Specialistic terms can often be found in the media, including the press, which significantly shapes their use. The article presents a volume concerning the usage and functions of specialistic terms in the daily press. In this study, the authors deal primarily with how the specialistic terms are presented in the German daily press and to what extent do they cause problems with understanding for recipients.
For some time now, there could be found more and more offers/services on the Internet that are linked to medical industry. An example of this are the doctor evaluation portals, which, as the results ...of many surveys prove, enjoy ever greater popularity among Internet users. They are used in the first place to find the right doctors, and also give the opportunity to assess them. In the center of interest of the article are opinions on doctors in the form of comments obtained from the German doctor evaluation portal Jameda. The analysis focuses on the expressions describing doctors used by the evaluators in the comments. The starting point for the analysis is the assumption that the appelative personal designations used in the evaluations are of great importance for the general meaning of the entire comment. The corpus of the study consists of about 120 evaluations obtained from the portal. Personal designations excerpted from the texts are analyzed from the perspective of their morphological and syntactic structure, taking into account also the criterion of naming motives.
The article focuses on collective names in the German language which are used to identify well-known people. In addition to proper names and individual common names, collective names offer themselves ...as another way of designating of persons. Since collective names used to designate people have formal similarities (they are nouns of singular form and plural meaning) and are very similar in their semantics (they refer to well-known people), their inventory is considered as a semantic field. Starting from an introduction into the nature of personal collective names in the German language and the concept of semantic field, selected German collective names of this kind are analzyed. At the center of the analysis is their lexicographic meaning, which is confronted with their useage tendencies in contexts. The study shows usage nuances of personal collective names in German.
Illness and the accompanying psychological and physical states are often hard to verbalize. For this reason and in order to appropriately describe a given state of illness one has to resort to ...metaphorical expressions. Based on this assumption we aim using depression as an example and deploying the Conceptual Metaphor Theory to show how psychological diseases can be conceptualised. Four main conceptual metaphors pertaining to depression have been singled out and discussed. The basis for the investigation constitute verbal collocations which have been extracted from the DWDS corpus and analysed using the Wortprofil tool.
Celem podjętym w artykule jest analiza tekstów autoprezentacyjnych pochodzących z profili niemieckich i polskich lekarzy na portalach umożliwiających użytkownikom internetu ocenę przedstawicieli tego ...zawodu. Treści zawarte na profilach medyków nie tylko służą informowaniu o usługach medycznych, stanowią także niebezpośrednią zachętę do skorzystania z nich, dlatego przedmiotem artykułu uczyniono perswazyjność autoprezentacji lekarzy. Korpus badawczy tworzą profile lekarzy pochodzące z jednego niemieckiego (jameda.de) i jednego polskiego (ZnanyLekarz.pl) portalu oceniającego lekarzy, co pozwoli na uchwycenie różnic oraz wskazanie podobieństw między tego typu tekstami w badanych językach. Aby zrealizować zakładany cel, w części teoretycznej artykułu scharakteryzowano portale publikujące ocenę lekarzy, przybliżono termin autoprezentacja oraz zdefiniowano proces perswazji językowej.
