The correlation between the gestational age and the birth body weight are among others the basis of the estimation of newborn's maturity. Because of the acceleration of development and the decrease ...in the gestational age and birth body weight regarded as a limitation to newborn's survivalship there is a necessity of bringing up to date the existing reference systems.
The main goal of this work is to modernize the reference system of birth body weight in relation to gestational age.
The data of the birth body weight of 48,443 (25,225 boys and 23,218 girls) newborn, singleton children with a gestational age of 24-43 weeks were examined. Data was collected in 2001 and 2002 in Wielkopolski and Lubuski region. Values of the 3rd, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th and 97th percentile were calculated. The analysis was carried out separately for both sexes. Additionally, because of lack of dimorphic differences until the 33rd week of gestation, percentile values were calculated for both sexes together in the partition of 24 to 33 weeks of gestation.
In comparison to previous reference systems, the obtained results showed a tendency for the birth body weight to increase.
The method of receiving mixed epoxy-carbazole compositions which, for the fact of its photoluminescence ability, may be used for production of LEDs diodes, has been elaborated. Mechanical, thermal ...and optical properties of low-molecular-weight epoxy resin Ruetapox 0162 of different content of 5-(9-carbazolyl)methyl-1,3-oxothiolane-2-thione has been examined. It has been also confirmed that in the reaction of co-cross-linking of resin and carbazole derivatives; materials of typical for epoxy resin: high mechanical strength, thermal stability, low water absorption, and low flammability, have been obtained. Radiation absorption spectrums in UV range and photoluminescence of maximum of respectively 328 and 342
nm and also 348 and 365
nm are characteristic for isolated carbazole molecules, which proves that epoxy resin may well perform a function of scattering matrix for carbazolyl substituents. The compositions of 5
wt.% is characterized by the best mechanical features and the highest photoluminescence intensity.

Luminescence properties of a new material ‐ epoxy resin with added 9‐(2,3‐epoxypropyl)carbazole (REPK) were studied. Absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectra of REPK are compared with those of ...poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK). PL in REPK is shifted to shorter wavelengths. Its intensity is higher than in PVK. REPK emits light in the range from 330 nm to 470 nm. PL spectrum of REPK could be well deconvoluted for four emission bands.
