Technological advances have created new possibilities in education, requiring the development of new pedagogical practices that contribute to the process of teaching and learning. This paper presents ...a proposal for the construction of an immersive virtual laboratory of computer networks in 3D OpenSim environment. The main advantages of the proposal are the development and the treatment of issues related to context-aware computing, such as: cognitive styles, technology used, analysis of learning, expertise and quality of context. The prototype of this laboratory is currently in development, with some positive partial results.
Industrial robots are commonly used in various industries due to their flexibility. However, their adoption for machining tasks is minimal because of the low dynamic stiffness characteristic of ...serial kinematic chains. To overcome this problem, we propose coupling two industrial robots at the flanges to form a parallel kinematic machining system. Although parallel kinematic chains are inherently stiffer, one possible disadvantage of the proposed system is that it is heavily overactuated. We perform a modal analysis to show that this may be an advantage, as the redundant degrees of freedom can be used to shift the natural frequencies by applying tension to the coupling module. To demonstrate the validity of our approach, we perform a milling experiment using our coupled system. An external measurement system is used to show that tensioning the coupling module causes a deformation of the system. We further show that this deformation is static over the tool path and can be compensated for.

Everyone agrees that Alberta's highways and roads need to be maintained, and their hospitals, schools and communities need to built, yet it seems that more and more these days, no one agrees on where the material should come from, or how the rules should be applied to the industry. However, there is a window for change opening in Alberta to reduce some of these inconsistencies and challenges with the amalgamation of the private and public lands coming together under Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.

Industrie 4.0 gilt als einer der Trends des letzten Jahrzehnts, stellt bisher jedoch im Wesentlichen eine digitale Innovation dar. Für eine volle Ausschöpfung des Potenzials müssen auch ...hardwareseitig die Produktionsmaschinen und -systeme der Zukunft grundlegend neu gedacht werden. Das Forschungsvorhaben Wertstromkinematik (kurz: WSK) setzt an dieser Stelle an. Dieses neuartige Produktionskonzept sieht die Gestaltung ganzer Produktionen anhand der Verkettung mehrerer Maschinen einer baugleichen, roboterähnlichen Kinematik vor. Die daraus resultierende Wandlungsfähigkeit ermöglicht eine volle Ausschöpfung des Potenzials von Industrie 4.0. Nachdem im ersten Teil dieses Beitrags der Schwerpunkt auf der Planung und Steuerung der roboterähnlichen Kinematiken lag, steht in dem hier vorliegenden zweiten Teil die Planung ganzer Produktionsanlagen im Fokus.

Seitens der Hardware müssen für eine volle Ausschöpfung des Potentials die Produktionsmaschinen und -systeme der Zukunft grundlegend neu gedacht werden. Das Forschungsvorhaben Wertstromkinematik setzt an dieser Stelle an. Das neuartige Produktionskonzept sieht die Gestaltung ganzer Produktionen anhand der Verkettung mehrerer Maschinen einer baugleichen, roboterähnlichen Kinematik vor. Das hierdurch geschaffene Produktionssystem besitzt eine Wandlungsfähigkeit, die die volle Ausschöpfung des Potenzials durch Industrie 4.0 ermöglicht und zur Erhaltung und Anpassung globaler Wertschöpfungsketten beiträgt.
