. The numbers of charm and beauty events are determined using variables reconstructed by the H1 vertex detector including the impact parameter of tracks to the primary vertex and the position of the secondary vertex. The measurements are combined with previous data and compared to QCD predictions.

. They support flavour independence of the diffractive exchange, expressed in terms of the scaling variable (
Q
2
+
M
2
V
)/4, and proton vertex factorisation. The spin density matrix elements are measured as a function of kinematic variables. The ratio of the longitudinal to transverse cross sections, the ratio of the helicity amplitudes and their relative phases are extracted. Several of these measurements have not been performed before and bring new information on the dynamics of diffraction in a QCD framework. The measurements are discussed in the context of models using generalised parton distributions or universal dipole cross sections.

To evaluate the aetiology and the diagnostic yield of the standardized diagnostic work-up based on European Society of Cardiology guidelines in the syncope unit.
A total of 501 patients (191 men and ...310 women), mean age 65 years (44-75 years), were prospectively evaluated. They underwent initial evaluation (history, physical evaluation, and a 12-lead electrocardiogram) and subsequently targeted tests that differed according to suspected aetiology. Initial evaluation resulted in diagnosis in 155 patients--reflex syncope (93), arrhythmogenic syncope (62), and pacemaker malfunction (7). In 22 patients with solitary syncope, a diagnostic algorithm was stopped after initial evaluation. In 139 patients with organic heart disease, cardiac syncope was found in 83 patients and reflex syncope in 30 patients. In 185 patients without organic heart disease, reflex syncope was diagnosed in 127 patients, cardiac syncope in 30 patients, and vascular syncope in 2 patients. Vasovagal syncope was the most common type of syncope (43%), followed by bradyarrhythmias (25%), tachyarrhythmias (9%), and orthostatic hypotension (5%). Aetiology of syncope remained unknown in 11% of patients. Diagnostic yield of specific examinations was as follows: head-up tilt 52%, implantable loop recorder 51%, electrophysiologic study 33%, initial evaluation 31%, EKG Holter 12%, orthostatic test 10%, transoesophageal stimulation 9%, carotid sinus massage 4%, and echocardiography 2%.
Standardized diagnostic evaluation determined the aetiology of syncope in 89% of patients. Diagnostic yield of specific diagnostic procedures was different. Initial evaluation resulted in diagnosis in one-third of patients.
The production of jets is studied in deep-inelastic e+p scattering at low negative four momentum transfer squared 5<Q2<100 GeV2 and at inelasticity 0.2<y<0.7 using data recorded by the H1 detector at ...HERA in the years 1999 and 2000, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 43.5 pb−1. Inclusive jet, 2-jet and 3-jet cross sections as well as the ratio of 3-jet to 2-jet cross sections are measured as a function of Q2 and jet transverse momentum. The 2-jet cross section is also measured as a function of the proton momentum fraction ξ. The measurements are well described by perturbative quantum chromodynamics at next-to-leading order corrected for hadronisation effects and are subsequently used to extract the strong coupling αs.

The production of jets is studied in deep-inelastic e±p scattering at large negative four momentum transfer squared 150<Q2<15000 GeV2 using HERA data taken in 1999–2007, corresponding to an ...integrated luminosity of 395 pb−1. Inclusive jet, 2-jet and 3-jet cross sections, normalised to the neutral current deep-inelastic scattering cross sections, are measured as functions of Q2, jet transverse momentum and proton momentum fraction. The measurements are well described by perturbative QCD calculations at next-to-leading order corrected for hadronisation effects. The strong coupling as determined from these measurements is \(\alpha_{s}(M_{Z})=0.1168\pm0.0007\,\mathrm{(exp.)}{}^{+0.0046}_{-0.0030}\,\mathrm{(th.)}\pm 0.0016\) (PDF).

A search for narrow baryonic resonances decaying into Ξ-π- or Ξ-π+ and their antiparticles is carried out with the H1 detector using deep inelastic scattering events at HERA in the range of negative ...photon four-momentum transfer squared 2 < Q2 < 100 GeV2. No signal is observed for a new baryonic state in the mass range 1600–2300 MeV in either the doubly charged or the neutral decay channels. The known Ξ(1530)0 is observed through its decay mode into Ξ-π+. Upper limits are given on the ratio of the production rates of new baryonic states, such as the hypothetical pentaquark states Ξ–5q or Ξ05q, relative to the Ξ(1530)0 baryon state.

A measurement of the inclusive ep scattering cross section is presented in the region of low momentum transfers, 0.2 GeV2 a parts per thousand currency signQ (2)a parts per thousand currency sign12 ...GeV2, and low Bjorken x, 5a <...10(-6)a parts per thousand currency signxa parts per thousand currency sign0.02. The result is based on two data sets collected in dedicated runs by the H1 Collaboration at HERA at beam energies of 27.6 GeV and 920 GeV for positrons and protons, respectively. A combination with data previously published by H1 leads to a cross section measurement of a few percent accuracy. A kinematic reconstruction method exploiting radiative ep events extends the measurement to lower Q (2) and larger x. The data are compared with theoretical models which apply to the transition region from photoproduction to deep inelastic scattering.

Background. Cariprazine is a new piperazine derivative atypical antipsychotic, like aripiprazole and brexpiprazole. It has been approved for treating schizophrenia in many countries and has recently ...been included on the List of Essential Medicines in Russia. Unlike most other atypical antipsychotics, it shows high in vivo occupancy of dopamine D2 and D3 receptors at clinically relevant doses. In animal models, cariprazine has demonstrated dopamine D3 receptor- dependent pro-cognitive and anti-anhedonic effects, suggesting its potential for treating negative symptoms. This review summarizes the efficacy of cariprazine in the treatment of negative symptoms of schizophrenia.
Methods. A literature search of databases covering international and Russian journals, for articles published between 1st January 2010 and 1stJune 2020.
Results. Cariprazine demonstrated at least comparable efficacy in the treatment of schizophrenia symptoms to active comparators including risperidone, olanzapine or aripiprazole. The drug has a good safety profile. It appeared to be associated with a lower risk of metabolic syndromes and most extrapyramidal symptoms. The positive effect of cariprazine on the negative symptoms of schizophrenia may be associated with the elimination of secondary negative symptoms. However, of all the atypical antipsychotics to date, only cariprazine has a convincingly, methodologically robust proven advantage over risperidone in eliminating the predominant negative symptoms of schizophrenia. Yet only four studies have investigated the effect of cariprazine on the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. There is a lack of research into its direct impact on emotional-volitional disorders, anhedonia, cognitive symptoms and personality changes. However, there is evidence to suggest cariprazine is effective in treatment-resistant cases, but this requires further confirmation.
Conclusion. Cariprazine is an effective and well-tolerated agent for the treatment of schizophrenia and may be effective in cases where other antipsychotics have failed. Cariprazine has been shown to have a positive effect on negative symptoms. Further studies are needed to collect more data on long-term treatment of schizophrenia and especially negative symptoms.
