Inverse problems of fracture exploration seismology are solved using machine learning methods. A single fracture of fixed size and subvertical orientation is considered in the two-dimensional case. ...The spatial position and the inclination angle of the fracture are determined using a neural network. The training set consists of solutions of direct problems produced by the grid-characteristic method on regular rectangular meshes in the form of synthetic seismograms obtained by measuring the vertical velocity on the surface of the medium.

Fusion-fission hybrid facility based on superconducting tokamak DEMO-FNS is developed in Russia for integrated commissioning of steady-state and nuclear fusion technologies at the power level up to ...40 MW for fusion and 400 MW for fission reactions. The project status corresponds to the transition from a conceptual design to an engineering one. This facility is considered, in RF, as the main source of technological and nuclear science information, which should complement the ITER research results in the fields of burning plasma physics and control.
The correlations between structures and mechanical characteristics of α-AlB12-, AlB12C2-, B4C-based lightweight ceramics and composites synthesized or sintered by hot pressing (at 30 MPa) and ...SiC-based ceramics obtained by reactive sintering are compared. The effect of C, TiC and SiC additions on the properties of the resultant composites and the particularities of the ceramics destruction under shock loading are discussed. Ballistic tests performed on 10 mm thick plates fabricated from the developed ceramics (2.63 g/cm3 density; 78 wt% B4C and 22 wt% SiC composition according to X-ray diffraction analysis; B3.64CSi0.01 and SiC1.07 stoichiometry according to SEM microprobe X-ray analysis), showed that the material could withstand a 10 m distance shot using a bullet with initial kinetic energy of 3.7 kJ.

We present direct measurements of the superconducting order parameter in nearly optimal FeSe Te single crystals with the critical temperature

S
≈ 1 meV, and their temperature dependences. We show that a twoband model fits well the experimental data. The estimated electron–boson coupling constants indicate a strong intraband and a moderate interband interaction.

The engineering and technical aspects of the creation of the electromagnetic system (EMS) developed using high-temperature superconductors (HTSCs) for the TRT project (Tokamak with Reactor ...Technologies) are considered. Some proposals on the design of superconducting the wire and EMS windings are presented, taking into account a number of restrictions imposed by equipment and operating conditions of the TRT. A brief comparison of the TRT EMS with a number of existing projects is given.

B isotope contents. We find that only a small amount of conduction electrons behave as Drude-type charge carriers while about 70% of the electrons are involved in collective oscillations of electron density coupled to vibrations of both the Jahn-Teller unstable rigid boron cage and rattling modes of La-ions loosely bound to the lattice. We suggest that exactly these non-equilibrium conduction electrons determine the extraordinary low work function of thermoemission in LaB

The increasing complexity of the systems-on-a-chip, as well as their raising operating frequencies, leads to the more complex and accurate design of the systems for generating clock signals. In this ...case, it becomes important not only to define all the characteristics that directly affect the accuracy of the generated signals, but also the practical possibility of estimating them using computer simulation. The reason for this is that the numbers of systems, which require modeling, develop faster than the computing power of a data processor. This paper discusses the possibilities of analyzing clock generation systems to estimate the value of random noise. The development of data transmission interfaces seeksto increase the speed of information transmission, whereas this development is proceeding in several directions.Firstly, the increase in speed may be achieved refining modulation systems. Another way to increase the speed of information transfer is to change the data transfer protocol. However, the most effective method of increasing the data transfer rate for any interfaces is still to increase the transmission frequency, i.e. reducing the duration of a single interval, which leads to stricter requirements for both the transmitter and the receiver involved in the physical implementation of the data transfer interface (PHY).
The article deals with the peculiarities of modeling the characteristics of low-density parity-check codes (LDPC) in terms of their decoding. When decoding low-density parity-check codes in various ...communication standards, the iterative belief propagation algorithm (BP) and its various modifications - Pearl's algorithm, sum-of-products algorithm - are widely used. In the article, special attention is given to this algorithm. The BP algorithm is a message-passing algorithm on a graphical model and consists of two basic messaging procedures between the nodes in the Tanner graph for LDPC code. The issues of constructing an effective architecture for an iterative decoder operating on the belief propagation algorithm in a heterogeneous system with massively parallel computing on a graphics processing unit are considered. It is shown that the use of the GPU allows to achieve a significant gain in decoding time with a sufficient size of the test matrix (a sufficient number of code and test nodes), obtained due to the parallelism of the architecture. Expressions for calculation of the size of the "working group" are given. The benefit of using a modified decoder architecture is estimated.
The article describes the study of vacuum thin-film technology for producing electrode materials for highly-capacitive electrolytic capacitors (EC) based on a roll carbon fabric called Busofit, with ...a highly developed surface (more than 1000 m2/g). Laboratory technology has been developed for a metal film coating of carbon fabric used as electrode material for a production of EC cells. The electrical properties of the manufactured cell prototypes, such as specific energy and capacitance and internal resistance, were investigated. The prospects of using thin-film technologies for creating highly-capacitive ECs is shown.
