This work aimed to investigate the application of a solid acid catalyst, a replacement for mineral acids or enzymes, to biomass conversion for further applications. Sulfonated zeolite, HSO
-ZSM-5, ...was successfully synthesized and characterized by several analysis techniques. The obtained catalyst showed high activity and efficiency in the hydrolysis of pretreated corn cob. Moreover, the acidity of the zeolite product positively influenced the biomass conversion. The influences of reaction parameters such as catalyst loading, reaction time and temperature on the hydrolysis were also established. Under suitable conditions, a hydrolysis yield of ∼54% was achieved. This recyclable solid acid catalyst provided a promising potential for applications in many industrially important hydrolysis processes of biomass.

In this contribution we present an experimental study of 3D opal photonic crystals. The samples are opals constituted by colloidal silica spheres, realized with self-assembly technique. The sphere ...diameter is selected in order to obtain coupling of the photonic band gap with the emission from CdSe/ZnS colloidal quantum dots. The quantum dots infiltrated in the opals is expected to be enhanced or suppressed depending on the detection angle from the photonic crystal. The structural and optical characterization of the SiO2 opal photonic crystals are performed by field-emission scanning electron microscopy and reflectivity spectroscopy. Measurements performed on samples permits to put into evidence the influence of the different preparation methods on the optical properties. Study of self-activated luminescence of the pure opals is also presented. It is shown that the luminescence of the sample with QDs have original QD emission and not due to the photonic crystal structure. The optical properties of colloidal core-shell semiconductor quantum dots of CdSe/ZnS which are prepared in our lab will be mention.
This work studied the application of sulfonated ZSM-5 zeolite, a bi-functional catalyst for conversion of biomass-derived glucose to HMF. Glucose hydrolysate was obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of ...rice straw, that was pretreated by sodium hydroxide. Glucose hydrolysate was then subjected to a transformation reaction to achieve HMF using HSO
-ZSM-5 zeolite under the assistance of sonication. The reaction conditions including solvent, temperature, catalyst dosage and reaction time were studied. Suitable conditions, which gave the highest yield of HMF of 54.1% have been found. The HSO
-ZSM-5 zeolite presented a high catalytic efficiency for conversion of glucose to HMF, an important and useful intermediate in the chemical industry.

The exceptions and limitations in copyright law have been firmly established by the Berne Convention. Indeed, these foundations consolidate and facilitate the unification in protecting copyrights of ...member states’ domestic laws. Nevertheless, the understanding and interpretations of each member are notably different and inadvertently maintain the inconsistency in international law. On that basis, the article analyzes the practice of Berne Convention’s codification and application in Vietnamese laws and judicial practice. Thereafter, the article emphasizes that Vietnamese intellectual property law has attempted to internalize the Berne Convention’s provisions on the limitations and exceptions of copyright law and proposes solutions to ameliorate such attempts. The article then shows the practice in Vietnamese judgment in order to show how Vietnamese intellectual property law receive the provision of limitations and exceptions in copyright law.

Access to medication plays a dual role in the balance of interests between the monopoly created by intellectual property law and the protection of public health. Intellectual property law contributes three mechanisms to support access to medication: compulsory license, parallel importation and generic drugs. Furthermore, competition law grants another supplementary method to insure access to medication by insuring a fair competition. However, these mechanisms were not enough to guarantee equitable access to medication because developing countries have met other obstacles in multi laterals agreements. Access to medication has to be reformed in light of the bias presented by intellectual property law.
A novel route to the fabrication of hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures including nanospheres and nanoporous network was described. Their structure and morphology evolution of the ...as-synthesized materials were determined by various techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transforminfrared spectra, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherm, and a formation mechanism was proposed. The results revealed that the Nd_2O_3 nanospheres had the diameter of 300 nm, which were composed of small primary nanoparticles(NPs) with the size of 10 nm. The nanoporous structure also formed the NPs of ca. 10 nm which were connected with each other to form a three-dimensional(3D) texture. This simple and mild approach to fabricate hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures could be easily scaled up and potentially extended to synthesize other oxide hierarchical structures.

We present results on the synthesis of core-shell CdSe/ZnS semiconductor nanocrystal quantum dots (NQDs) and their optical enhancement properties. A very strong and narrow photoluminescence is ...observed for sizes varying from 2 to 5 nm. Using an effective mass theory, we model the energy shift for the first excited state for core and core/shell NQDs. Core/shell heterostructure can be used to significantly increase the absorption cross section and decrease the efficiency of Auger recombination. Opal structures prepared from silica beads are also reported. This photonic crystal infiltrated with NQDs shows promise in biological detection.

Customer satisfaction provides a platform for organizations to increase the relationship with customers which enable to gain the long-term success. And this study ...investigates the current pattern of customer satisfaction in Bank of Vietnam. The study also aims to find out the most important attributes of service quality in bank card which can be used to evaluate he characteristics of banking service quality. The investigation was done by distributing 500 questionnaires to customers. 458 responses are collected from the targeted respondents and 5 hypotheses are tested to find out the relationship between service quality and customer satisfaction. The questionnaire is developed based on the SERVQUAL model that identifies the influence of five dimensions including tangibility, responsiveness, reliability, assurance and empathy on customer satisfaction. The result indicates that four services quality dimensions have positive influence on customer satisfaction. Finally, the conclusion an
