Este trabajo surge con el propósito de realizar un estudio, económico-financiero, sobre los Centros Especiales de Empleo localizados en Castilla y León, a partir de una clasificación en función de la ...personalidad jurídica que adoptan y comprobar cómo les puede afectar la crisis económica iniciada a finales de 2007. Se analizan diferentes partidas recogidas en sus estados financieros y se comparan los resultados del análisis con los obtenidos en años anteriores, periodo 2007-2013, al objeto de mostrar una perspectiva más amplia de su tamaño, desarrollo, crecimiento y comportamiento. Para ello se utilizan las siguientes magnitudes económicas: activo total, cifra de negocios y resultados. Se compara la variable empleo con las subvenciones recibidas por los Centros poniendo de manifiesto como la crisis sí les afecta en función de la personalidad jurídica que adoptan, siendo las entidades más perjudicadas las asociaciones y personas físicas, pudiendo incluso ocasionar su desaparición. Además se introduce la cuenta de reversión para los Centros, que mide qué porcentaje de las ayudas públicas recibidas es devuelto a la sociedad.

Japón acaba de salir de la Segunda Guerra Mundial como un país derrotado y que necesita superar los traumas heredados de una trágica época. En ese camino de sanación, la memoria y su relación con el paisaje, entendido de manera extensa, van a jugar un papel fundamental en la recuperación de una sociedad que debe volver a reinventarse. El libro propone un repaso histórico y temático hasta el día de hoy vertebrado a través de ambos conceptos.

Se han estudiado 15 taxones pertenecientes a 4 secciones del género Saxifraga en el NW Ibérico, tanto al M.O. como al M.E.B., procedentes de recolecciones propias y de material de herbario. Los resultados obtenidos corroboran la importancia taxonómica del polen en este género, permitiendo separar no sólo secciones, sino también en alguno casos especies.

A biometrical study of I specimens of Dactylisglomerata L. collected in NW Spain (Galicia) and in Portugal, belonging to 15 populations with three different ploidy levels (2x, 4x and 6x) is made. The ...results show that there is not a single character which could be used to separate the three pioidy levels. However, a combination of seven of studied variables clearly discriminates 94,28 % of the specimens.
COVID‐19 is a systemic infectious disease that may affect many organs, accompanied by a measurable metabolic dysregulation. The disease is also associated with significant mortality, particularly ...among the elderly, patients with comorbidities, and solid organ transplant recipients. Yet, the largest segment of the patient population is asymptomatic, and most other patients develop mild to moderate symptoms after SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Here, we have used NMR metabolomics to characterize plasma samples from a cohort of the abovementioned group of COVID‐19 patients (n = 69), between 3 and 10 months after diagnosis, and compared them with a set of reference samples from individuals never infected by the virus (n = 71). Our results indicate that half of the patient population show abnormal metabolism including porphyrin levels and altered lipoprotein profiles six months after the infection, while the other half show little molecular record of the disease. Remarkably, most of these patients are asymptomatic or mild COVID‐19 patients, and we hypothesize that this is due to a metabolic reflection of the immune response stress.

COVID-19 is a systemic infection that exerts significant impact on the metabolism. Yet, there is little information on how SARS-CoV-2 affects metabolism. Using NMR spectroscopy, we measured the ...metabolomic and lipidomic serum profile from 263 (training cohort) + 135 (validation cohort) symptomatic patients hospitalized after positive PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2 infection. We also established the profiles of 280 persons collected before the coronavirus pandemic started. Principal-component analysis discriminated both cohorts, highlighting the impact that the infection has on overall metabolism. The lipidomic analysis unraveled a pathogenic redistribution of the lipoprotein particle size and composition to increase the atherosclerotic risk. In turn, metabolomic analysis reveals abnormally high levels of ketone bodies (acetoacetic acid, 3-hydroxybutyric acid, and acetone) and 2-hydroxybutyric acid, a readout of hepatic glutathione synthesis and marker of oxidative stress. Our results are consistent with a model in which SARS-CoV-2 infection induces liver damage associated with dyslipidemia and oxidative stress.
