value of 0.17 ± 0.67 mg/mL. In addition, the methanolic extract was found to possess antioxidant properties, as evidenced by its ability to prevent β-carotene discoloration, with an IC
ranging from 0.062 ± 0.02 mg/mL to 0.070 ± 0.06 mg/mL. In vitro study showed that all extracts significantly inhibited the enzymatic activity of α-amylase and α-glucosidase. Finally, molecular docking models were applied to assess the interaction between the primary phytochemicals identified in

The aqueous extract obtained by maceration showed high levels of polyphenols and flavonoids, with values of 379.67 ± 0.09 mg GAE/g and 212.11 ± 0.11 mg QE/g, respectively. This extract also exhibited an impressive ability to scavenge DPPH radicals, as indicated by its IC50 value of 0.095 ± 0.12 mg/mL. Additionally, the methanolic extract obtained using the Soxhlet method demonstrated antioxidant properties by preventing β-carotene discoloration, with an IC50 of 0.087 ± 0.14 mg/mL. Results from in-vitro studies showed that extracts from U. lactuca were able to significantly inhibit the enzymatic activity of α-amylase and α-glucosidase. Among the various extracts, methanolic extract (S) has been identified as the most potent inhibitor, exhibiting a statistically similar effect to that of acarbose. Furthermore, molecular docking models were used to evaluate the interaction between the primary phytochemicals found in these extracts and the human pancreatic α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes. These findings suggest that U. lactuca extracts contain bioactive substances that are capable of reducing enzyme activity more effectively than the commercially available drug, acarbose.

essential oil (PVEO) from the province of Oujda, Morocco, for its therapeutic properties. The essential oil was obtained by hydro-distillation, and its volatile components were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results revealed the presence of various aromatic and terpene compounds, with carvacrol being the most abundant compound. PVEO showed antioxidant properties in several tests, including β-carotene bleaching, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging and total antioxidant capacity (TAC). It also demonstrated cytotoxicity against MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell lines, with higher selectivity for MDA-MB-231. The results reveal that
essential oil (PVEO) could be a promising natural alternative for the treatment of breast cancer.

Throughout history, essential oils have been employed for their pleasing scents and potential therapeutic benefits. These oils have shown promise in various areas, including aromatherapy, personal ...care products, natural remedies, and even as alternatives to traditional cleaning agents or pest control solutions. The study aimed to explore the chemical makeup, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties of Origanum compactum Benth., Salvia officinalis L., and Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. et Perry. Initially, the composition of the three essential oils, O. compactum (HO), S. officinalis (HS), and S. aromaticum (HC) was analyzed using GC-MS technology, revealing significant differences in the identified compounds. α-thujone emerged as the predominant volatile component in the oils, making up 78.04% of the composition, followed by eugenol, which constituted 72.66% and 11.22% of the HC and HO oils, respectively. To gauge antioxidant capabilities, tests involving DPPH scavenging capacity and total antioxidant capacity were conducted. Antioxidant activity was determined through the phosphomolybdate test and the DPPH• radical scavenging activity, with the HO essential oil displaying significant scavenging capacity (IC50 of 0.12 ± 0.02 mg/mL), similar to ascorbic acid (IC50 of 0.26 ± 0.24 mg/mL). Similarly, the TAC assay for HO oil revealed an IC50 of 1086.81 ± 0.32 µM AAE/mg. Additionally, the oils’ effectiveness against four bacterial strains, namely Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and Listeria monocytogenes, and five fungi, Geotrichum candidum, Aspergillus niger, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida glabrata, and Candida albicans, was tested in vitro. The examined essential oils generally exhibited limited antimicrobial effects, with the exception of HC oil, which demonstrated an exceptionally impressive level of antifungal activity. In order to clarify the antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal effects of the identified plant compounds, we employed computational methods, specifically molecular docking. This technique involved studying the interactions between these compounds and established protein targets associated with antioxidant, antibacterial, and antifungal activities.
This study focused on developing an innovative, straightforward, and economical method utilizing a mixture of readily available solvents to extract arborescin (C2OH2OO8) crystals from Artemisia ...absinthium L. (A. absinthium). The structural elucidation and characterization were conducted using a suite of techniques including IR spectroscopy, CNHSO elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and mass spectroscopy (MS). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to determine the molecular properties. Antioxidant activity was measured using the DPPH radical scavenging assay and the β-carotene bleaching test. Antimicrobial efficacy was assessed against four bacterial strains and three fungal strains. The molecular docking approach was employed to predict the probable binding patterns and affinities of arborescin with specific target biomolecules. Employing an array of analytical techniques, examination of the isolated crystal from A. absinthium. led to its comprehensive structural elucidation. IR spectroscopy revealed the presence of distinctive functional groups, including a carbonyl group within the γ-lactone and an epoxy group. CNHSO elemental analysis verified that the crystal contained only carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, a finding corroborated by SEM-EDS analysis, consistent with the molecular structure of arborescin. Additionally, mass spectrometry confirmed the identity of the compound as arborescin, with a molecular ion with a mass m/z = 248. Quantum-Chemical Descriptors revealed that arborescin is resistant to elementary decomposition under standard conditions. Although arborescin demonstrates a relatively low antioxidant capacity, with an IC50 of 5.04 ± 0.12 mg/mL in the DPPH assay, its antioxidant activity in the β-carotene bleaching test was found to be 3.64%. Remarkably, arborescin effectively inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Listeria innocua at low concentrations (MIC = 166 µg/mL). Additionally, it exhibits significant antifungal activity against Candida glabrata, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum fungicidal concentration (MFC) of 83 µg/mL and 166 µg/mL, respectively. In this study, arborescin exhibited a robust docking score of −8.1 kcal/mol, indicating a higher affinity compared to ciprofloxacin. This suggests that arborescin has significant potential as a potent antibacterial agent.

Abstract
Waste recycling with increasing the lifecycle of resource is a novel approach for enhancing circular economy. Within this context, this study aims to give a second life cycle to ...phosphogypsum (PG) waste, which is a by-product from phosphoric acid manufacture, as useful resources. This study evaluates the sustainability of this harmful waste, which is accumulated in large stockpiles and becomes hazardous during storage, and to stabilize bentonite-based concrete intended for road construction.
The effect of raw bentonite (Ca-Na montmorillonite), PG, and lime on the properties of cementitious materials has been investigated through various tests. The properties examined include chemistry (X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry), mineralogy (X-ray Powder Diffraction and Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), calorimetry (Differential Thermal Analysis/Thermogravimetry) and microstructure (Scanning Electron Microscopy) of the mortar based on different mixtures of bentonite, PG and lime. The result show that lime and PG addition involves in the formation of new nanocrystalline phases and the disappearance of certain minerals as portlandite. Calcium silicate hydrate gel appeared in the mixture with 8% of lime, whereas strätlingite was neoformed in the mixture with 8% of lime and 8% of PG. These nanocrystalline phases are responsible for enhancing mechanical strength through the pozzoloanic reaction.
Objectifs pédagogiques L’hernie intestinale dans le sac dural constitue une complication postopératoire exceptionnelle. Notre objectif est d’illustrer à travers un cas cette complication ...inhabituelle, démontrer l’intérêt de l’IRM dans l’exploration les complications postopératoires de la pathologie rachidienne. Matériels et méthodes Il s’agit d’une patiente explorée dans notre service de neuroradiologie de Rabat qui a été suivie pour maladie de Marfan et opéré pour un kyste arachnoïdien sacré en 2007. La patiente a présenté un syndrome de la queue de cheval d’installation lentement progressive. Notre patiente a bénéficié d’une IRM médullaire. Résultats Patiente âgée de 47 ans suivie pour maladie de Marfan opérée en 2007 pour kyste arachnoïdien sacré ayant bénéficié d’une kystectomie par aspiration avec résection du dôme saillant et ablation du fond du kyste. La patiente a présenté des troubles génito-sphinctériens avec anesthésie en selle une année plus tard. Une IRM médullaire a été réalisée et qui a objectivé une hernie grêlo-épiploique à travers un défect osseux de la paroi antérieure du sacrum. Conclusion L’hernie digestive dans le sac dural représente une complication exceptionnelle d’une chirurgie rachidienne. L’IRM médullaire est l’examen clé dans l’exploration de cette affection inhabituelle.
