Emission is one of the key problems in the automotive industry, which engineers try to eliminate by lowering emissions to the minimum. Transmission emission plays an important part here. The basic ...characteristics of gears include their shape, load capacity, and emissions. The most significant source of noise and vibration in the gearbox is the step change in the meshing stiffness of the gearing, which depends on the path of meshing at the entry and exit of the meshed teeth. Ensuring a permanent multi-pair mesh is a way to mitigate these step changes as much as possible. This leads to the design and implementation of gears in an integer contact ratio. In addition to this, the article deals with the impact of individual parameters on the stiffness of the gearing, which is a source of noise and vibration. The meshing stiffness of the gearing was determined on the deformation basis of the gearing, as solved by the Finite Element Method.
Shell Eco-marathon is an international competition to develop a vehicle with the lowest fuel consumption. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University in Košice has been involved ...in this competition for 25 years, during which it developed 8 vehicles. For vehicles are important not only low fuel consumption but also high safety. In addition to the low aerodynamic drag of the vehicle, the low weight of the vehicle is important to achieve low fuel consumption. This is achieved by using ultra-light and solid materials in all parts of the vehicle. The latest generation vehicle uses a self-supporting body, which has increased requirements for front and rear stiffness, as discussed in this article.
Changing market requirements, pressure to minimize production costs, competition, but also legislative restrictions have an impact on a number of areas, not excluding the automotive industry. ...Currently, development trends are moving towards the application of advanced technological solutions and materials, with the aim to reduce vehicle‘s weight, increase their strength and safety, and at the same time reduce the emission of vehicles. The Shell Eco Marathon competition is an excellent platform for the implementation of these activities. The main goal of the competition is to support the creative invention of research teams and bring innovative ideas and technical solutions. The scientific article focuses on a detailed analysis of development steps in the construction of experimental vehicles. The results of the research were presented at a competition in London 2019 with successful achievement. This work is a contribution to the design and aerodynamic optimization of the body and at the same time brings new ideas and structural elements to improve the production power unit.
In this article, the authors refer to the measurement of acoustic emission, where they found that this methodology can determine the combustion characteristics in the combustion chamber of the engine ...and thus it is possible to confirm a better combustion process and overall reduction of engine noise after decarbonization. The formation of diesel exhaust soot is also supported by the authors' paper, in which they describe how such soot is formed and what effect the addition of special mixtures to the combustion process has on the formation of such carbon deposits. The article uses BG technologies for deep engine decarbonization, including intake and exhaust parts. This technology is one of many on the market, but it was only with this technology that the authors managed to achieve the relevant results that this article will introduce to. For the test, we selected vehicles that had a problem to pass at the emission control.
The intravascular variant of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (IVBL) is a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma that is frequently diagnosed at autopsy because the symptoms are nonspecific or confusing. We ...report a case of IVBL in a woman with pre-existing myelodysplastic syndrome manifested as a fever of unknown origin, bilateral adrenal enlargement and subsequent development of panhypopituitarism. Lymphomatous infiltration or osteomyelitis of the sella was supposed. Despite antibiotic and corticosteroid therapy the patient died within three months. An intravascular variant of B-cell lymphoma with intravascular collections of lymphomatous cells predominantly localized in the adrenal and pituitary glands was found at autopsy. The association of panhypopituitarism with bilateral adrenal enlargement is uncommon in endocrinological praxis and the occurrence of combined endocrine involvement in a patient with IVBL has not been described in previous literature.

Virtual Reality (VR) represents a computer technology to create a simulated three-dimensional (3D) environment. Compared to the traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. ...This research aimed to implement and examine modern learning strategies and activities with the VR for teaching crime scene investigation. The target group of this piloting study consisted of all students who enrolled in a crime scene investigation course at Al-Istiqlal University during the Spring semester of 2021. An online item-based questionnaire has been developed. It is used to assess students' perceptions towards using cooperative, discussion, field trip and problem-solving learning strategies and activities implemented with the VR technology. This study showed that VR is a helpful tool to practice modern learning strategies and skills in learning forensic science and crime scene investigation. We can conclude that using VR technology for educational purposes supports the learning process.
