O caso retrata políticas de engajamento do consumidor adotadas pelo Armazém Paraíba, contextualizando a estratégia de Black Friday adotada pela empresa que levou à implantação de estratégias de ...engajamento. A partir de mensurações para entender o perfil e necessidades dos clientes, estabeleceu-se conexões e ações para melhoria do relacionamento entre consumidor e empresa. O caso suscita discussões sobre papel do cliente para melhoramento dos serviços e sucesso das organizações por meio sistema de recompensas/bonificação, resultando ações bem-sucedidas, que ressaltam a importância da comunicação para fortalecimento do vínculo com a organização e de se priorizar o cliente como cerne das estratégias.
Propranolol (PPN) is a therapeutic option for the treatment of infantile hemangiomas. This study aimed at the development of nanoemulsion (NE) containing 1% PPN, characterization of the system, and ...safety studies based on ex vivo permeation, cytotoxicity, and biodistribution in vivo.
The formulation was developed and characterized in relation to the droplet size, polydispersity index (PDI), pH, zeta potential, and electronic microscopy. Ex vivo permeation studies were used to evaluate the cutaneous retention of PPN in the epidermis and dermis. Cytotoxicity studies were performed in fibroblasts, macrophages, and keratinocytes. In vivo biodistribution assay of the formulations was performed by means of labeling with technetium-99m.
NE1 exhibited droplet size of 26 nm, PDI <0.4, pH compatible with the skin, and zeta potential of -20 mV, which possibly contributes to the stability. Electron microscopy showed that the NE presented droplets of nanometric size and spherical shape. NE1 provided excellent stability for PPN. In the ex vivo cutaneous permeation assay, the NE provided satisfactory PPN retention particularly in the dermis, which is the site of drug action. In addition, NE1 promoted cutaneous permeation of the PPN in small amount. In vivo biodistribution showed that the radiolabeled formulation remained in the skin and a small amount reached the bloodstream. NE1 presented low cytotoxicity to fibroblasts, macrophages, and keratinocytes in the concentrations evaluated in the cytotoxicity assay.
We concluded that the formulation is safe for skin administration; however, cutaneous irritation studies should be performed to confirm the safety of the formulation before clinical studies in patients with infantile hemangiomas.
Digital limitations (or, conversely, digital capabilities) are a new way to frame the digital divide discourse in three dimensions: access, cognition and behavior. Digital limitations address an ...individual's barriers to properly access the information and communication technologies (ICTs), as well as his/her cognitive disabilities and negative behaviors towards ICT use effectiveness. In a survey with 174 undergraduate students in a traditional state university in underdeveloped Northeastern Brazil who compulsorily use an institutional ICT-based academic system, we investigated the factorial structure and the relationship of two constructs that pertain to the cognitive dimension of digital limitations – computer self-efficacy and anxiety. Our findings address the negative correlation between the two constructs and the unanticipated proposition that both low and high levels of self-efficacy and anxiety do not signal per se the presence of cognitive digital limitations or capabilities.
•The levels of CSE and ANX may mean either digital limitations or capabilities.•High CSE and low ANX do not necessarily promote voluntary technology use.•Extremely high CSE and extremely low ANX may undermine technology use.•Moderately low CSE and moderately high ANX may leverage technology use.•Cognitive enablers must be promoted in state funded digital inclusion programs.

Turismo Comunitário prioriza as vivências que traduzem o modo de vida em comunidade, sendo organizado a partir da autogestão dos recursos e repartição igualitária dos benefícios gerados. Utilizando ...como referência teorias sobre turismo e justiça distributiva no campo de marketing, esta pesquisa buscou entender como a estruturação do Turismo Comunitário contribuiu para a percepção de desenvolvimento de uma cidade e formação de um sistema mais justo para os moradores. O estudo foi realizado no município de Nova Olinda, Ceará, que abrange a experiência da Fundação Casa Grande, responsável pela criação e gestão do turismo local. A pesquisa adotou uma abordagem qualitativa, com entrevistas semiestruturadas e observação participante. Os resultados apontam que um modelo que considera as partes interessadas, pautado em valores como a vivência em comunidade, a cooperação e o reconhecimento do espaço cultural, é capaz de alavancar o desenvolvimento socioeconômico local e estabelecer trocas justas. A discussão teórica e empírica da temática da justiça dentro do turismo e a análise de uma experiência de gestão que absorve os ideais de trocas justas são as principais contribuições deste estudo.

O presente caso para ensino apresenta aspectos relacionados a externalidades e ações de marketing social que permeiam a ONG SOS Cuiá. O objetivo é a estruturação de uma narrativa que discutisse os ...impactos de marketing ao ambiente, fazendo uma contextualização das ações do Movimento SOS Cuiá, que atua como numa perspectiva de reparar externalidades negativas. Utilizou-se dados primários, entrevistas coletivas com os dirigentes da ONG, e dados secundários, como o estatuto, site institucionais e redes sociais. O caso pode ser aplicado em disciplinas de Marketing e Marketing Social.
Abstract The objective of this paper was to develop and evaluate two semi-solid pharmaceutical forms containing 0.1% tacrolimus: cream (CRT01) and gel (GLT01). For the evaluation of physicochemical ...stability, at times 0, 30, 60 and 90 days, at 23°C and at 40°C, High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with a Diode Array Detector (HPLC-DAD) was employed. This method was developed and validated for tacrolimus quantification. The occlusivity test and skin permeation assay were also performed, using an animal model (Wistar rats), and the CRT01 and GLT01 were compared to the 0.1% tacrolimus ointment (PFU01) obtained from the University Pharmacy, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. CRT01 and GLT01 presented a homogeneous aspect and consistency adequate for topical products, along with sensory characteristics above PFU01. They also presented adequate physicochemical stability for 90 days and a lower occlusive effect than PFU01 (p<0.05). CRT01 showed greater affinity for the skin when compared to PFU01 and GLT01, with low systemic absorption. The CRT01 semi-solid formulation was considered the most adequate one to treat patients with atopic dermatitis or other dermatologic inflammatory diseases, promoting rational use of tacrolimus.

Esta pesquisa teve o objetivo identificar variáveis antecedentes à impulsividade na compra e de verificar a relação entre a tendência à compra por impulso e os valores humanos. Para alcançar esse ...objetivo foi realizado um survey por meio de um perfil criado no Orkut, em que os estudantes foram convidados a participar da pesquisa respondendo a um questionário disponível on-line. Foram aplicados cinco instrumentos: 1) Escala de Atividade de Compra; 2) Escala de Circulação na Loja; 3) Escala de Valores Humanos básicos; 4) Questionário sócio-demográfico; e, 5) Questionário de hábitos de consumo. Participaram da pesquisa 154 estudantes (77 homens e 77 mulheres) regularmente matriculados na Universidade Federal da Paraíba, na faixa etária entre 18 a 25 anos (média=21; DP=2). Foi calculada a distribuição das frequências das variáveis sócio-demográficas e dos hábitos de consumo dos participantes; os Alfas de Cronbach para os fatores das escalas; e análise de regressão linear múltipla para cada bloco de questões como Variável Dependente (VD) tendo sempre a Impulsividade como Variável Independente (VI); As variáveis que apresentaram poder preditivo da compra impulsiva foram os valores "Prazer" e "Estabilidade Pessoal", o Sistema de Valor "Existência", a circulação na loja, a frequência do uso do cartão de crédito nas compras, o costume de frequentar shopping centers, e variáveis sócio-demográficas como sexo, idade e renda familiar. Esta pesquisa contribuiu para a compreensão de aspectos que influenciam a compra por impulso, tema que é pouco estudado no Brasil.
This article analyzes the antecedents of the dropout rate and retention of students in management undergraduate programs. Empirical research was carried out in a management undergraduate program at a ...Brazilian Federal University, using the data of 1202 freshman students between the years 2004–2009. These students were followed up until the year 2013. In the analysis, we surveyed information regarding the student's time in the program, their graduation or dropout, as well as their socio-demographic information and program characteristics. The statistical technique used was the survival analysis, which allowed us to assess the factors that influence the time of program completion and the evolution of the dropout risk. In the main results, it was found that the number of semesters, student grades, gender, and the existence of failure or dropouts per course, were factors that explained both the time of completion of the course and the risk of dropping out. In addition, variables, such as age, marital status, race and high school background (public or private), showed no influence on these variables (graduation time and dropout rate).
O objetivo, neste artigo, foi analisar os condicionantes da evasão e da retenção de alunos do ensino superior em administração. A pesquisa empírica foi realizada em um curso de Administração de uma universidade federal brasileira com dados de 1202 ingressantes entre os anos de 2004 a 2009 que foram acompanhados até o ano de 2013. Na análise, foram levantadas informações relativas ao tempo de permanência do aluno no curso, forma de saída (diplomação ou evasão), além de informações sócio demográficas e sobre as características do curso. Para análise, foi utilizada a técnica estatística de análise de sobrevivência, que permitiu avaliar, ordenadamente, os fatores que influenciam o tempo de conclusão do curso e a evolução do risco de evasão. Como principais resultados, foi verificado que o número de semestres do curso, o desempenho do aluno, seu gênero, além da existência de reprovação e trancamento são fatores que explicam tanto o tempo de permanência quanto o risco de evasão. Na pesquisa foi constatado que variáveis relativas à idade no ingresso, estado civil, raça e natureza da escola de educação básica (pública ou privada) não demonstraram influência no tempo de conclusão ou evasão.

Implementing enterprise systems usually involves a partnership between the customer organization’s internal team and an external team with professionals from the technology supplier and the business ...consultants. On both sides, team performance (a process) and team effectiveness (an outcome) emerge partly due to the unpredictable effects of the interaction between human factors at the individual level. Thus, a team’s dynamics and achievements may not fully correspond to its members’ individual characteristics—for instance, a modest team may be formed by outstanding individuals, and an outstanding team may be formed by modest individuals. With an ex post facto approach and a case study on a successful ERP customization project, we studied the interaction effects between human factors (here represented by cognition and behavior) that lead to team performance and effectiveness. Moreover, we focused on the customer side of teamwork due to gaps identified in the literature. Individual team members in our study did not score the highest in several cognitive and behavioral measures; thus, we conclude that a high-performance, effective team does not necessarily possess a theoretically ideal cognitive and behavioral archetype. This study further contributes to the ambiguous debate on performance and effectiveness, their emergent nature, and the role of team management.
