A new hybrid of Sideritis L. is proposed, endemic to the Central and Northwestern side of the Iberian Peninsula: S. ×vallisoletana, published by Brother Sennen and Carlos Pau, as a variety of S. ...hirsuta, in 1908. This taxon is reinterpreted as a hybrid between S. montserratiana and S. hirsuta. The lectotype of the name is designated from original material. In addition, iconography is provided for this hybrid and its parents.
Se propone un nuevo híbrido de Sideritis L., endémico del centro y noroeste de la península ibérica: S. ×vallisoletana publicado por el Hermano Sennen y Carlos Pau, como variedad de S. hirsuta, en 1908. Se reinterpreta dicho taxon como híbrido entre S. montserratiana y S. hirsuta, al tiempo que se designa su respectivo
lectotipo. Además, se aporta iconografía para dicho híbrido y sus progenitores.
New taxonomic data about the hydrization complex between Sideritis hirsuta L. y S. tragoriganum Lag. (Labiatae) are reported. Two news nothosubspecies are described, S. × valentina nothosubsp. ...roselloi (from Sisante, Cuenca, Spain) and nothosubsp. rierae (from Cortes de Pallás, Valencia, Spain); the first plant comes from the hybridization between S. hirsuta and S. tragoriganum subsp. mugronensis (Borja) Obón & D. Rivera, and the second one from S. hirsuta and S. tragoriganum subsp. tragoriganum. Morphological descriptions of these two hybrids are reported, emphasizing the main diagnostic characters which allow the
separation from their parent taxa, and between type nothosubspecies described by Sennen and Pau from material collected in Benicarló and Peñíscola, and identified in this work as a hybrid between S. hirsuta and S. tragoriganum subsp. juryi (Peris, Stübing & Figuerola) M.B. Crespo & Mateo. The names S. × valentina Sennen & Pau and S. × segobricensis var. pauana Font Quer are typified, the lectotypes designated are a specimen preserved at MA from the Sennen's exsiccata Plantes d'Espagne, and a specimen from Pau preserved at BC, respectively. A new status and combination for the name S. × laderoi Socorro & García-Granados is reported, as a nothosubspecies of S. × valentina.
Se aportan datos sobre la taxonomía de los híbridos entre Sideritis hirsuta L. y S. ragoriganum Lag. (Labiatae). Se describen dos nuevas notosubespecies, S. × valentina nothosubsp. roselloi (de Sisante, Cuenca) y nothosubsp.rierae (de Cortes de Pallás, Valencia), proveniente la primera de la hibridación entre S. hirsuta y S. tragoriganum subsp. mugronensis (Borja) Obón & D. Rivera, y la segunda entre S. hirsuta y S. tragoriganum subsp. tragoriganum. Se presentan sendas descripciones morfológicas y sus principales caracteres diagnósticos frente a sus progenitores y a la notosubespecie tipo descrita por Sennen y Pau, considerada en este trabajo como híbrido entre S. hirsuta y S. tragoriganum subsp. juryi (Peris, Stübing & Figuerola) M.B. Crespo & Mateo. Se tipifican los nombres S. × valentina Sennen & Pau y S. × segobricensis var. pauana Font Quer, designando como lectotipos un espécimen de los exsiccata de Sennen Plantes d’Espagne conservado en el herbario MA y un espécimen de Pau conservado en BC, respectivamente. Se propone una combinación y estatus nuevo para el híbrido S. × laderoi Socorro & García-Granados, como notosubespecie de S. × valentina.
The lectotype of Sideritis tragoriganum Lag. (Labiatae) was designated by Figuerola & al. in 1991 from an illustration published by Lobelius in 1591 and cited in the protologue of Lagasca. However, ...Rivera et al. in 1991 proposed its replacement by an original specimen preserved in the herbarium of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid at MA since the Lobelius’ illustration does not allow a precise identification with the current use and concept of the name. However, according to the Shenzhen Code, this replacement is ineffective and should be rejected. The illustration from Lobelius (1591) must be treated as the lectotype of S. tragoriganum. On the other hand, in order to avoid any ambiguity in the interpretation of the lectotype, an epitype is selected from a specimen preserved in the herbarium of the
Botanic Garden of the Valencian University at VAL, and collected in the locality cited by Lagasca in the protologue “Tibi” (Alicante province, Spain).
El lectotipo de Sideritis tragoriganum Lag. (Lamiaceae) fue designado por Figuerola, Stübing & Peris en 1991 a partir de una ilustración publicada por Lobelius in 1591 y citada en el protólogo por Lagasca. Sin embargo, Rivera y colaboradores en 1991 proponen su reemplazo por un espécimen del material original conservado en el herbario del Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid en MA al considerar que la ilustración de Lobelius contradice el protólogo y no permite una precisa identificación con el uso y el concepto actual del nombre. Sin embargo, este reemplazo es inefectivo y tendría que ser rechazado de acuerdo con el Código de Shenzhen. La ilustración de Lobelius (1591) debe ser tratada como el lectotipo de S. tragoriganum. Por otro lado, para evitar cualquier ambigüedad en la interpretación del lectotipo, un epitipo es seleccionado a partir de un espécimen conservado en el herbario del Jardín Botánico de la Universidad de Valencia (VAL), y recolectado en la localidad de “Tibi” (Alicante, España) citada por Lagasca en el protólogo.

Se revisan las tipificaciones de cuatro nombres de plantas descritas por Léon Dufour. El lectotipo de Centaurea scorpiurifolia (Compositae) es designado a partir de material original conservado en el “Herbario Léon Duforur” en BORD (disponible en: Archives départementales des Landes). Los neotipos de Centaurea stenophylla y Thalictrum maritimum (Ranunculaceae) fueron designados a partir de material conservado en los herbarios P y VAL, respectivamente. Sin embargo, material original para estos dos nombres se ha encontrado en BORD. Por lo tanto, los respectivos lectotipos de C. stenophylla y T. maritimum son designados en este trabajo de acuerdo con lo dispuesto en el Art. 9.19(a) del Código Internacional de Nomenclatura para algas, hongos y plantas (CIN). Por otro lado, el lectotipo de Centaurea dracunculifolia es asimismo designado a partir de material original conservado en BORD.
In this paper we explain the historical evolution of valencian Botany science to the prestigious
figure of Dr. Gonzalo Mateo Sanz. We divide it into 4 periods. In the first period (XI and XII ...centuries) the study of plants was motivated by medicinal uses; there, we can highlight the botanist Abbu-S-Salt Umayya. Along the second period (XIII-XVII) the study of plants due to their medical interest continued on. For that period the figures of Arnau de Vilanova, Muhammad Al Shafra, Pere Jaume Esteve, Joan Plaça and Jaime Honorato Pomar can be remarked. Joan Plaça created the botanical garden of the University of Valencia. During the third period (XVII-XIX) the study of plants was considered as a main matter per se, and not
only because of their medicinal properties. We can stand out Tomás Vilanova y Poyanos, José Salvador Ximenez Peset, Antonio Josef Cavanilles y Palop, Vicente Alonso Lorente, Simon de Rojas Clemente y Rubio, José Pizcueta y Donday and José Salvador Benedicto. There is no doubt that the more relevant author for this period was Cavanilles. During the fourth period (XIX onwards) there was a division of the Botany specialists. On the one hand Eduard Boscá Casasnoves, Francisco Beltrán Bigorra and Ignacio Docavo Alberti in the University of Valencia; and on the other hand, Carlos Pau Español, Manuel Calduch
Almela, Abelardo Rigual Magallón, José Borja y Carbonell and Josep Mansanet i Mansanet worked in their own drugstores, studying the plants. Without any doubt the second group of botanists contributed largely to the botanical knowledge. Finally, Dr. Mansanet obtained a chair of botany and became PhD supervivor of Gonzalo Mateo Sanz. Dr. Mateo became a great botanist, contributing notably to the knowledge of Iberian flora, as well as being a referent to a lot of current botanists

de Gonzalo Mateo Sanz. Lo dividimos en 4 periodos. En el primer período (siglos XI y XII) el estudio de las plantas está motivado por usos medicinales. Podemos destacar en Abbu-S-Salt Umayya. Durante el segundo período (siglos XIII-XVII) continuó el estudio de las plantas debido a su interés médico. Finalmente, Mansanet obtuvo una cátedra de botánica y se convirtió en director de tesis de Gonzalo Mateo Sanz. Mateo se convirtió en un gran botánico que está contribuyendo en gran medida al conocimiento de la flora ibérica y es un referente para muchos botánicos actuales.

A morphological description is reported, emphasizing the main diagnostic characters which allow the separation from its parent taxa.
Se comentan detalles taxonómicos referentes a la hibridación entre T. angustissimum y T. capitatum s.l. (sect. Polium, Labiatae), Se describe una nueva nothosubespecie, Teucrium ×coeleste nothosubsp. schreberi, proveniente de la hibridación de T. angustissimum y T. capitatum subsp. gracillimum. Se presenta una descripción morfológica y los principales caracteres diagnósticos del nuevo híbrido frente a sus progenitores. El híbrido se ha localizado en el término municipal de Calles (Valencia).
The inclusion of Sideritis calduchii Cirujano & al. within S. paulii Pau is proposed by the following
combination: S. paulii subsp. calduchii comb. & stat. nov. Besides, S. × gomeznavarroi, is ...proposed as a new hybrid
between S. montserratiana Stübing & al. and S. paulii subsp. calduchii. The corresponding descriptions, a
comparative table with diagnostic features and iconography of this hybrid and taxa are provided.
Se propone la inclusión de Sideritis calduchii Cirujano & al., dentro de S. paulii Pau, mediante la
siguiente combinación: S. paulii subsp. calduchii comb. & stat. nov. Además, se propone un nuevo híbrido,
S. × gomeznavarroi, como resultado del cruzamiento natural entre S. montserratiana Stübing & al. y S. paulii subsp.
calduchii. Se aportan las correspondientes descripciones, una tabla comparativa con los caracteres diagnósticos e
iconografía del híbrido y táxones implicados.
Sideritis ×celtiberica (Labiatae) was described in 1915
by Carlos Pau from a material collected by Brother Elías, as an hybrid between S. cavanillesii and S. ovata. This hybrid has gone unnoticed ...throughout history and has even been considered as unpublished and nomen nudum by some
authors. In this work the value of the description of Pau is claimed, specifying the identity of its parents according to
the current taxonomy of the genus, the name is typified and the initial description is extended. An iconography of the
nothotaxon and its two parents and a table with the main diagnostic characters among these three plants are included.
Sideritis ×celtiberica (Labiatae) fue descrita en 1915 por Carlos Pau a partir de un material recolectado por el Hermano Elías, como producto del cruzamiento natural entre S. cavanillesii y S. ovata. Este híbrido ha
pasado desapercibido a lo largo de la historia e incluso ha sido considerado como inédito y nomen nudum por algunos
autores. En este trabajo se reivindica la valía de la descripción de Pau, precisando la identidad de los progenitores
según la taxonomía actual del género, se tipifica el nombre y se amplía la descripción inicial, al tiempo que se aporta
una amplia iconografía del nothotaxon y sus dos progenitores y una tabla con los principales caracteres de diagnóstico
entre estas tres plantas.
Se revisa la taxonomía, nomenclatura, corología y fitosociología de Sideritis fruticulosa (Labiatae). Se propone su división en cuatro subespecies (subsp. fruticulosa, subsp. cavanillesii, subsp. ...ferreriana y subsp. tarraconensis), una de las cuales (subsp. ferreriana) se describe en este trabajo. Se propone también una nueva variedad: S. fruticulosa subsp. cavanillesii var. illerdensis. Se lectotipifica el nombre Sideritis ×llenasii.
The taxonomy, nomenclature, chorology and phytosociology of Sideritis fruticulosa (Labiatae) are reviewed. We propose the division of this taxon in four subspecies (subsp. fruticulosa, subsp. cavanillesii, subsp. ferreriana, and subsp. tarraconensis), one of which (subsp. ferreriana) is described in this paper.
