This article deals with helicopter emergency medical services in Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. The article analyses and gives a comparison of effectiveness of the helicopter ...emergency medical services (HEMS) in different countries in terms of the services response time. Some ideal allocation of the helicopter emergency medical services in Slovak Republic was proposed in the conclusion of the article.
•Recent knowledge of ocular graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is reviewed by expert transplantation physicians and ophthalmologists.•Biological processes include lacrimal and meibomian gland ...dysfunction and corneoconjunctival inflammation.•Renin angiotensin system and endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling are implicated in murine models.•The National Institutes of Health eye score, Schirmer test, and corneal staining are useful for diagnosing ocular GVHD.•Emerging treatments for dry eye disease (eg, anakinra, lifitegrast) may be tested for ocular GVHD.
Ocular graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) occurs in more than one-half of patients who develop chronic GVHD after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT), causing prolonged morbidity that affects activities of daily living and quality of life. Here we provide an expert review of ocular GVHD in a collaboration between transplantation physicians and ophthalmologists through the Late Effects and Quality of Life Working Committee of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research and the Transplant Complications Working Party of the European Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Recent updates in ocular GVHD regarding pathophysiology, preclinical models, risk factors, prevention, screening, diagnosis, response criteria, evaluation measures, and treatment are discussed. Ocular GVHD involves at least 3 biological processes: lacrimal gland dysfunction, meibomian gland dysfunction, and corneoconjunctival inflammation. Preclinical models have identified several novel pathogenic mechanisms, including the renin angiotensin system and endoplasmic reticulum stress signaling, which can be targeted by therapeutic agents. Numerous studies have identified reliable tests for establishing diagnosis and response assessment of ocular GVHD. The efficacy of systemic and topical treatment for ocular GVHD is summarized. It is important that all health professionals caring for HCT recipients have adequate knowledge of ocular GVHD to provide optimal care.

In the ionic structure of the title compound, Fe(C12H8N2)3(C9H5N4O2)2·H2O, the octahedral tris-chelate Fe(phen)3(2+) dications Fe-N = 1.9647 (14)-1.9769 (14) Å; phen is 1,10-phenathroline afford ...one-dimensional chains by a series of slipped π-π stacking interactions centroid-to-centroid distances = 3.792 (3) and 3.939 (3) Å. The 1,1,3,3-tetracyano-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)propenide anions, denoted tcnoetOH(-), reveal an appreciable delocalization of π-electron density, involving the central propenide C-C = 1.383 (3)-1.401 (2) Å fragment and four nitrile groups, and this is also supported by density functional theory (DFT) calculations at the B97D/6-311+G(2d,2p) level. Primary noncovalent inter-moiety interactions comprise conventional O-H...O(N) and weak C-H...O(N) hydrogen bonding O...O(N) = 2.833 (2)-3.289 (5) Å and C...O(N) = 3.132 (2)-3.439 (2) Å. The double anion...π interaction involving a nitrile group of tcnoetOH(-) and two cis-positioned pyridine rings (`π-pocket') of Fe(phen)3(2+) N...centroid = 3.212 (2) and 3.418 (2) Å suggest the relevance of anion...π stackings for charge-diffuse polycyanoanions and common M-chelate species.

The environmental isolate Kytococcus sedentarius TR-2 was found to be a new producer of the oligoketide antibiotics monensin A and B. Electron microscopic studies demonstrated that the TR-2 strain ...had coccoid cells and DNA analysis revealed no close relationship to Streptomyces cinnamonensis, a typical monensin producer. Production of monensins was also proven with six culture collection K. sedentarius strains and three Dermacoccus nishinomiyaensis strains. The secondary metabolism of micrococci demonstrates a high degree of instability. Biosynthesis of monensins by micrococci endorses a phylogenetic relationship to Streptomyces spp.
The paper describes results obtained with a new type of GaSb based semiconductor distributed feedback multiple quantum well lasers operating in continuous wave mode well above room temperature. The ...lasers show good tunability both by current and temperature from 0 to +60 degrees C and current from threshold up to 120 mA. They all operate in high power (1-3 mW) single mode regime and can be tuned in the methane and ammonia overtone absorption spectral range over up to 12 cm(-1) and can be used for the detection of these and other gases.
