The composition and properties of the tailings of quartzite enrichment of "Gora Karaul'naya" deposit, the possibility of its using as an aggregate in the composition of heavy and fine-aggregate ...concrete and dry construction mixture were determined. The introduction of quartzite tailings increases the water demand of the mixture, reduces the compressive strength of concrete and mortar, increases the bending strength compared to quartz sand.
This contribution describes recent progress in the design, synthesis and properties of solution-processible star-shaped oligomers and their application in organic photovoltaics. Even though ...alternative chemistry has been used to design such oligomers, the most successful approach is based on a triphenylamine donor branching center, (oligo)thiophene conjugated spacers and dicyanovinyl acceptor groups. These are mainly amorphous low band-gap organic semiconductors, though crystalline or liquid crystalline ordering can sometimes be realized. It was shown that the solubility, thermal behavior and structure of such molecules in the bulk strongly depend on the presence and position of alkyl groups, as well as on their length. The photovoltaic properties of solution-processed molecules of this type are now approaching 5% which exceeds those of vacuum-sublimed devices. The design rules and future perspectives of this class of organic photovoltaic molecules are discussed.
The challenges of the modern society and the growing demand of high-technology sectors of industrial production bring about a new phase in the development of organic synthesis. A cutting edge of ...modern synthetic methods is introduction of functional groups and more complex structural units into organic molecules with unprecedented control over the course of chemical transformation. Analysis of the state-of-the-art achievements in selective organic synthesis indicates the appearance of a new trend - the synthesis of organic molecules, biologically active compounds, pharmaceutical substances and smart materials with absolute selectivity. Most advanced approaches to organic synthesis anticipated in the near future can be defined as 'atomic precision' in chemical reactions. The present review considers selective methods of organic synthesis suitable for transformation of complex functionalized molecules under mild conditions. Selected key trends in the modern organic synthesis are considered including the preparation of organofluorine compounds, catalytic cross-coupling and oxidative cross-coupling reactions, atom-economic addition reactions, methathesis processes, oxidation and reduction reactions, synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, design of new homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems, application of photocatalysis, scaling up synthetic procedures to industrial level and development of new approaches to investigation of mechanisms of catalytic reactions. The bibliography includes 840 references.

The sealing and relaxation characteristics of fluoroplast-4 gaskets are studied. It is established that, at the same specific pressure, the use of wider gaskets can increase sealing of the working ...pressure by about 25%. The influence of the stress level and time on the value of the relaxation modulus is also studied. A safety coefficient is proposed that takes the relaxation of specific pressures into account. Results of a control experiment conducted to assess the adequacy of the relaxation model are presented along with practical recommendations.

We studied daily dynamics of proliferative activity of embryonic fibroblast-like cells in culture during the logarithmic growth phase. Daily increase in cell count in the culture showed a 4-day ...rhythm that persisted over 3 weeks of culturing. In cultures from different animals, the phase of this rhythm was synchronous and did not depend on the moment of cell isolation. It can be hypothesized that the 4-day biorhythm of proliferative activity of embryonic fibroblast-like cells in culture is determined by external environmental factors, probably of electromagnetic nature.

Abstract
Doppler backscattering (DBS) was successfully previously used on the Globus-M tokamak. The diagnostic was utilised in the form of either a single-frequency or a four-frequency dual homodyne ...system. It was used primarily for the study of zonal flows, filaments and Alfvén eigenmodes. These phenomena are worth being studied both on the periphery and in the core region of the plasma in a tokamak. For this specific reason two multifrequency DBS systems were installed on the upgraded Globus-M2 tokamak. The first four-frequency system with dual homodyne detection had already been used on the Globus-M tokamak and has lower probing frequencies which provide measurements from the periphery plasma. The second and new six-frequency DBS system was installed with a non-linear transmission line that was adapted to generate probing signals at frequencies 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 GHz. The pyramidal horn antennas are located inside the vacuum vessel with a special cardan-like rotator outside the camera so as to tilt antennas in the toroidal and poloidal directions. A previously developed code was applied to simulate 3D raytracing for all frequency channels. Calculations were carried out for different angles of incidence and for different electron density distributions in order to investigate the possibilities of the implementation of radial and poloidal correlation Doppler reflectometry. Examples of the DBS system application for study of plasma properties in the Globus-M2 tokamak are presented.
Programmed cell death of non-nucleated blood cells – platelets – could be associated with pathophysiology of oncologic and oncohematologic diseases. It contributes to both bleedings (caused by the ...thrombocytopenia, which is induced by elimination of the platelets) and thrombosis (caused by the processes of blood coagulation on the surface of phosphatidylserine exposing platelets). Here we characterized functional responses of platelets from the patients with various oncological disorders undergoing chemotherapy and compared them to the platelets from the healthy donors and platelets pre-incubated with apoptosis inducer ABT-737. Some patients exhibited diminished capability of platelets to aggregate. Immunophenotyping of these platelets revealed their pre-activation in comparison to the platelets from the healthy donors. Calcium signaling analysis revealed that in the patient-derived platelets, as well as in the apoptotic platelets, intracellular calcium levels were increased in resting cells. However, moderate level of this increase together with weak expression of phosphatidylserine allows us to assume that apoptotic processes in the circulating platelets from the patients are limited.
