Microstructure, texture, precipitation, mechanical and magnetic properties in a twin-roll strip casting Cu-bearing non-oriented electrical steel were studied by a combination of X-ray diffraction ...(XRD), electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD), optical microscopy (OM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results indicated that the average grain size and main texture component were not affected by aging time, while the size and crystal structure of copper precipitates were influenced. In the peak strength condition, copper precipitation contributed ~ 207MPa to the yield strength of the final product without deteriorating the magnetic properties. In summary, a non-oriented electrical steel with excellent mechanical and magnetic properties was successfully processed via twin-roll strip casting.

Background
Our purpose was to establish and validate a nomogram model in early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients for predicting the cancer‐specific survival (CSS).
Methods
We extracted eligible ...data of relevant patients between 2010 and 2015 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Further, we divided all patients into two groups (training and validation cohorts) at random (7:3). Nomogram was established using effective risk factors based on univariate and multivariate analysis. The effective performance of nomogram was evaluated using concordance index (C‐index), calibration plots, decision curve analysis (DCA), and receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC).
Results
We selected 3620 patients with early HCC including the training cohort (70%, 2536) and the validation cohort (30%, 1084). The nomogram‐related C‐indexes were 0.755 (95% CI: 0.739–0.771) and 0.737 (95% CI: 0.712–0.762), in the training and validation cohorts, respectively. The calibration plots showed good consistency of 3‐and 5‐year CSS between the actual observation and the nomogram prediction. The 3‐, 5‐year DCA curves also indicated that the nomogram has excellent clinical utility. The 3‐, 5‐year area under curve (AUC) of ROC in the training cohort were 0.783, 0.779, respectively, and 0.767, 0.766 in the validation cohort, respectively. With the establishment of nomogram, a risk stratification system was also established that could divide all patients into three risk groups, and the CSS in different groups (i.e., low risk, intermediate risk, and high risk) had a good regional division.
Conclusions
We developed a practical nomogram in early HCC patients for predicting the CSS, and a risk stratification system follow arisen, which provided an applicable tool for clinical management.

Cyclophilins (CYPs) are a member of the immunophilin superfamily (in addition to FKBPs and parvulins) and play a significant role in peptidyl-prolyl
-
isomerase (PPIase) activity. Previous studies ...have shown that CYPs have important functions in plants, but no genome-wide analysis of the cotton
gene family has been reported, and the specific biological function of this gene is still elusive. Based on the release of the cotton genome sequence, we identified 75, 78, 40 and 38
gene sequences from
,
,
, and
, respectively; 221
genes were unequally located on chromosomes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that 231
genes clustered into three major groups and eight subgroups. Collinearity analysis showed that segmental duplications played a significant role in the expansion of
members in cotton. There were light-responsiveness, abiotic-stress and hormone-response elements upstream of most of the CYPs. In addition, the motif composition analysis revealed that 49 cyclophilin proteins had extra domains, including TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat), coiled coil, U-box, RRM (RNA recognition motif), WD40 (RNA recognition motif) and zinc finger domains, along with the cyclophilin-like domain (CLD). The expression patterns based on qRT-PCR showed that six
expression levels showed greater differences between Xinhai21 (long fibres,
) and Ashmon (short fibres,
) at 10 and 20 days postanthesis (DPA). These results signified that
genes are involved in the elongation stage of cotton fibre development. This study provides a valuable resource for further investigations of
gene functions and molecular mechanisms in cotton.

Developing promising luminescent probes for the selective sensing of nitro-explosives remains a challenging issue. Porous luminescent covalent-organic polymers are one of the excellent sensing probes ...for trace hazardous materials. Herein, fluorescent monomers 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-formyl-(1,1′-biphenyl))ethane (TFBE) and 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid trihydrazide (BTCH) were selected to build a novel hydrazone connected stable luminescent covalent-organic polymer (
H-COP
) of high stability by typical Schiff-base reaction. The N
2
sorption study, BET surface area analysis, and TGA profile indicate the porosity and stability of this
H-COP
material. Such properties of the
H-COP
material enable a unique sensing platform for nitro-explosives with great sensitivity (
K
sv ∼ 10
6
M) and selectivity up to μM. This polymer material shows attractive selectivity and sensitivity towards phenolic nitro-explosives and other common explosives among earlier reported COP-based sensors.
A novel
H-COP
was synthesized through Schiff-base condensation reaction, which shows high sensitivity (

Aim:
This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cerebrovascular disease (CeVD) events in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
...Methods:
We searched the literatures in Pubmed, Embase, and Web of Science to identify cohort studies reporting the association between PCOS and CVD/CeVD events from 1964 to June 1, 2020. Outcome variables, such as all-cause mortality, cardiovascular death, any cardiovascular diseases, myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, and stroke, were extracted from the identified literatures, and we reported the outcomes of the association in hazard ratios (HR) and odds ratios (OR).
Results:
Ten cohort studies comprising 166,682 samples are included in the review. Compared to non-PCOS women, the pooled risk of CVD events in PCOS women (OR: 1.66, 95% CI: 1.32–2.08). In addition, the risk of myocardial infarction (OR: 2.57, 95% CI: 1.37–4.82), ischemic heart disease (OR: 2.77, 95% CI: 2.12–3.61), and stroke (OR: 1.96, 95% CI: 1.56–2.47) are higher in the PCOS group. However, no significant difference in the overall mortality (HR: 1.04, 95% CI: 0.57–1.86) and CVD-related death (HR: 1.49, 95% CI: 0.99–2.23) was observed. Funnel plots of all outcomes are roughly symmetric, and no significant publication bias was found.
Conclusion:
Though this study identified an increased risk of CVD and CeVD among women with PCOS, including occurrence of myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, and stroke, there was no difference in the all-cause or CVD-related mortality observed. Further large-scale studies are warranted to strengthen the association between PCOS and CV events. Our study may require a larger sample size to further verify the conclusions.

Background
Esophagogastric variceal re-bleeding (EGVR) is a common and potentially lethal complication after open or laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection (LSD) in patients with ...cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Currently, noninvasive biomarkers for predicting EGVR are lacking. This prospective study focused on developing a noninvasive and convenient clinical model for predicting postoperative EGVR.
Methods
Between September 2014 and March 2017, we enrolled 164 patients with cirrhosis who successfully underwent LSD. Based on the absence or presence of EGVR, patients were divided into EGVR and non-EGVR groups. We used correlation analysis to determine significant candidate variables among the liver fibrotic markers procollagen type III (PC-III), hyaluronidase (HA), laminin (LN), and type IV collagen (C-IV).
Results
Postoperative EGVR occurred in 22 (13.41%) patients. Correlation analyses showed that LN (
r
= 0.375;
p
< 0.001) and C-IV (
r
= 0.349;
p
< 0.001) were significantly positively associated with EGVR. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of LN was 0.817 (95% confidence interval CI 0.722–0.913); that of C-IV was 0.795 (95% CI 0.710–0.881). In logistic multivariate regression, cutoff values LN ≥ 64 µg/L and of C-IV ≥ 65 µg/L were independent risk factors for EGVR. LN ≥ 64 µg/L combined with C-IV ≥ 65 µg/L was the best performing model, with AUC 0.867 (95% CI 0.768–0.967).
Conclusion
LN and C-IV are potential markers to predict EGVR. Combining the two markers showed satisfactory ability to predict EGVR in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension after LSD.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has had a major impact on global human health. During the spread of SARS-CoV-2, weakened host immunity and the use of vaccines with low ...efficacy may result in the development of more-virulent strains or strains with resistance to existing vaccines and antibodies. The prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 mutant strains differs between regions, and this variation may have an impact on the effectiveness of vaccines. In this study, an epidemiological investigation of SARS-CoV-2 in Portugal was performed, and the VSV-ΔG-G* pseudovirus system was used to construct 12 spike protein epidemic mutants, D614G, A222V+D614G, B.1.1.7, S477N+D614G, P1162R+D614G+A222V, D839Y+D614G, L176F+D614G, B.1.1.7+L216F, B.1.1.7+M740V, B.1.258, B.1.258+L1063F, and B.1.258+N751Y. The mutant pseudoviruses were used to infect four susceptible cell lines (Huh7, hACE2-293T-293T, Vero, and LLC-MK2) and 14 cell lines overexpressing ACE2 from different species. Mutant strains did not show increased infectivity or cross-species transmission. Neutralization activity against these pseudoviruses was evaluated using mouse serum and 11 monoclonal antibodies. The neutralizing activity of immunized mouse serum was not significantly reduced with the mutant strains, but the mutant strains from Portugal could evade nine of the 11 monoclonal antibodies tested. Neutralization resistance was mainly caused by the mutations S477N, N439K, and N501Y in the spike-receptor binding domain. These findings emphasize the importance of SARS-CoV-2 mutation tracking in different regions for epidemic prevention and control.

Background
Digestive system complications are among the most important causes of postoperative poor quality of life after open and conventional laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection ...(CLSD). We firstly developed a modified vagus nerve-preserving laparoscopic splenectomy and azygoportal disconnection (MVLSD). In this study, we aimed to evaluate whether MVLSD is feasible and safe and to determine whether MVLSD can effectively eliminate postoperative digestive system complications, in comparison with CLSD.
Method
In this randomized controlled single-center study, 60 patients with cirrhosis were randomly assigned to undergo either CLSD (
n
= 30) or MVLSD (
n
= 30) between April and December 2018. The primary outcome was delayed gastric emptying (DGE). Endoscopic physicians were blinded to group assignments.
Results
One patient who received MVLSD withdrew from the study. There were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, incidence of blood transfusion, time to off-bed activity, time to first flatus, and postoperative hospital stay between the two groups. Compared with CLSD, operation time and incidences of DGE, diarrhea, epigastric fullness, and overall postoperative complications were all significantly reduced in the MVLSD group (all
P
< 0.05). Compared with CLSD, MVLSD was associated with significantly increased weight and albumin levels at 1, 6, and 12 months postoperatively versus preoperative values (all
P
< 0.05). The curative effect of resolving gastroesophageal variceal bleeding was similar between the groups.
Conclusion
MVLSD is not only a technically feasible and safe procedure, it is also succinct and convenient. Furthermore, MVLSD effectively reduces postoperative digestive system complications, contributing to improved quality of life.
