Video Question Answering (VideoQA) is a very attractive and challenging research direction aiming to understand complex semantics of heterogeneous data from two domains, i.e., the spatio-temporal ...video content and the word sequence in question. Although various attention mechanisms have been utilized to manage contextualized representations by modeling intra- and inter-modal relationships of the two modalities, one limitation of the predominant VideoQA methods is the lack of reasoning with event correlation, that is, sensing and analyzing relationships among abundant and informative events contained in the video. In this paper, we introduce the dense caption modality as a new auxiliary and distill event-correlated information from it to infer the correct answer. To this end, we propose a novel end-to-end trainable model, Event-Correlated Graph Neural Networks (EC-GNNs), to perform cross-modal reasoning over information from the three modalities (i.e., caption, video, and question). Besides the exploitation of a brand new modality, we employ cross-modal reasoning modules for explicitly modeling inter-modal relationships and aggregating relevant information across different modalities, and we propose a question-guided self-adaptive multi-modal fusion module to collect the question-oriented and event-correlated evidence through multi-step reasoning. We evaluate our model on two widely-used benchmark datasets and conduct an ablation study to justify the effectiveness of each proposed component.
Due to the rapid development of information technology, sitting in front of a computer for learning, working, and entertainment has become the norm of our daily life. Keeping a good sitting posture ...is vital to our health. Sitting plantar pressure distribution is an important biomechanical parameter that can reflect the ergonomics of sitting posture. This study presented a low-cost smart portable sitting mat that can measure the sitting plantar pressure distribution in real time. This smart mat consisted of 576 pressure sensing arrays made by a low-cost E-Textile. The sensing arrays were arranged in a matrix form. And a Voltage Feedback Non-Scanning Electrode (VF-NSE) method was used to eliminate the cross-talk effect due to the interconnected sensing arrays. And a cubit interpolation method further was used to increase the "virtual resolution" of this smart mat up to 43,376. A pilot experimental study was carried out to demonstrate that this smart mat can be applied to monitor the sitting plantar pressure distribution in different sitting postures and provide pressure information in details.
In this paper, the stability analysis problem for the networked multi station cooperative motion system (MSCMS) with the time delays and parameters uncertainties is addressed. Considering the random ...time delays and station nodes position compensation, an uncertain multi station model is established for the MSCMS. The random network-induced time delays are modeled as a discrete-time Markov chain and the time delays compensation method is used to compensate the tracking errors among the multi station nodes. Then, the stability and stabilization conditions for MSCMS are proposed by using a Lyapunov stability theory.

Results The results of several years of experiments show that in early spring, P. santalinus could be propagated well using the grafting propagation methods of skin grafting propagation and oblique grafting propagation, with survival rate over 80%. For rootstocks with young age or thin stems, the joint unions of the oblique grafting propagation healed well, without apparent protrusions, unlike those of skin grafting propagation. The survival rate of oblique grafting propagation that is fast and reliable was higher than that of cut grafting propagation. Conclusions It is feasible to use the grafting propagation methods to propagate P. santalinus seedlings. This is a traditional and innovative technology path in the in the propagation of high-quality seedlings of precious Hongmu trees, and can be promoted and applied in industrial practice.
