This paper presents the application of CAD/CAE/CAM systems at the improvement of the manufacturing the flotation balls for grinding ore. Flotation balls need to satisfy the appropriate requirements ...in terms of dimensional, chemical, mechanical and physical properties. These properties are directly related to technology of ball manufacturing, in this case - permanent-mold casting technology. Software tolls from the group of CAD/CAE/CAM systems were used for designing the casting parts, casting and feeding systems, mold and simulation of permanent-mold casting process. Based on results of casting process simulation the casting process in real industrial conditions was realized. After the casting process, testing of casting parts has been performed. The testing gave satisfactory results, so the presented methodology, based on CAD/CAE/CAM systems, is acceptable for manufacturing program in foundry.
We surveyed the Ural Owl Strix uralensis macroura from 1993 to 2007 to determine the geographic range of the species in Croatia and to provide information on its density and habitat preferences. We ...conducted playback surveys at 365 survey points within 19 plots (total survey area 1070 km2) systematically covering all of the major forest types in Croatia. Surveys were also carried out at 144 calling stations arranged in transects and at 133 stations scattered over larger areas. Playback surveys were conducted twice at stations in plots and along transects, and once at scattered stations. A total of 234 Ural Owl territories were located. We estimate the total population of the Ural Owl in Croatia to be 700–1000 pairs, and include an updated map of its distribution. The owls occurred in Dinaric fir—beech forests, montane beech, Sessile Oak Quercus petraea and Common Oak Quercus robur forests. The majority of the population, around 80%, was located in Mountain Croatia, where mixed Dinaric fir—beech forests predominated, at densities ranging from 1.1 to 5.4 pairs/10 km2 (average 2.3 pairs/10 km2). The highest density was found in the Plitvice Lakes National Park, in forests that have not been commercially logged for more than 50 years. Approximately 20% of the total population was found in the western part of Lowland Croatia, in the zone of beech and Sessile Oak-hornbeam forests, with average density of 0.9 pairs/ km2, as well as in Common Oak forests, with density of 0.7 pairs/10 km2. In Mediterranean Croatia the Ural Owl was found only in the mountainous zone of thermophile beech forests. There we recorded a density of 0.3 pairs/km2 and estimate the population at 15–25 breeding pairs constituting approximately 2% of total population in Croatia.
Migration routes and origins of the Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus), Great Reed Warbler (A. arundinaceus) and Sedge Warbler (A. schoenobaenus) populations migrating through the eastern ...Adriatic coast were investigated by analysing recoveries of birds ringed or found at two eastern Adriatic wetlands during autumn migration. There were 75, 104 and 63 long-distance recoveries for these three species, respectively. Great Reed Warblers from central and eastern Europe and Sedge Warblers from countries surrounding the Baltic Sea use the eastern Adriatic wetlands as stopover sites and continue their migration across the Mediterranean. Some Great Reed Warblers use south-western route during their return migration. Reed Warblers of unknown origin, presumably from eastern Europe continue their migration through south-western route to Spain (mean distance - 1329.3 ± 118.0 km, n = 20; mean azimuth - 251.05 ± 4.91°, n = 20; mean velocity - 63.25 km/day, n = 16). Local breeding Reed Warblers migrate southeast along the eastern Mediterranean (azimuth 117.53°). Eastern Adriatic coast represents a crossroads for migratory warblers using south-western, south-eastern and central Mediterranean flyways.
This paper represents an effort to explain the originality of a consensus theory, its similarities and differences with neo-institutional theory. The author discusses the interrelations between the ...terms convention and institute, trying to determine the overlapping and disciplinary boundaries of the economy of conventions and neo-institutional economic theory. We start from the hypothesis that the above mentioned directions are sufficiently different in terms of form and meaning, but they also have some essential similarities and many mutual points, primarily in terms of a concept. The maritime industry is a key sector in Europe in terms of employment, creating value added, innovation and infrastructural development and long term development strategy. Maritime traffic, ...transport and transshipment of goods, associated logistical services and the use of maritime resources are vital for the survival of European industry. Such position is based on: a) the need to set up an integrated European transport system, b) the maritime industry's contribution to ecological renovation of economic system, c) the future importance of maritime sector in an industrial policy context and d) the fact that the importance of employment policy extends far beyond Europe's coastal regions. Development of maritime in the European Union, especially development of the port sector, is still institutionally dependent on state intervention. Particularly important (or: significant) practical example is the Chinese challenge. In the future years it may be a decisive factor in determining the competitive situation, given the immense efforts of Chinese government to develop shipbuilding and maritime in general. Aim of this study is to analyze the trends of state regulation of the maritime industry in Europe and worldwide. Its hypothesis is that the Chinese and European experience in state regulation of maritime industry may be useful exemplary models for strengthening the institutional development of Montenegrin maritime assumptions and its adjustment to the modern world and European trends. The subject of this paper is the research of public perception based on the selected samples of highly educated persons on the existence of institutional violence as a breaking factor in the ...development of Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the paper is to quantitatively analyse the impact of five independent variables on the basis of a hypothetical theoretical approach and relevant questionnaires: a) institutional underdevelopment, b) reduction of economic freedom, democracy, and individualism, c) hegemonic theoretical governance, d) dictation of "new entrepreneurs" and "new elites", and e) domination of privileged choices and interest motivation of the nomenclature in power on the dependent variable, which we defined as the existence of institutional violence in society. The paper starts from the hypothesis that the factors defined by independent variables dominantly influence the manifestation and maintenance of institutional violence as a key development boundary. Multiple regression linear approach is methodologically applied to the samples from 150 selected respondents in the three countries mentioned above. The results have confirmed the validity of the hypothesis and, consequently, the need for significant social reforms in the part of independent variables, which would lead to the reduction of institutional violence in these countries, or the influence of alternative institutions.

This paper focused on the economic analysis of the sustainable tourism using an example of cultural tourism. We evaluated the annual economic impact to the city of Nottingham based on the causal ...chain model that was fulfilled from the perspective of the selected evaluation criteria. Our results yielded the feasibility and practicability of the evaluation method based on the new taxonomy of sustainable cultural tourism. The combined evaluation method enables policy-makers to evaluate comprehensively the overall impact of each attraction and locate the attraction in the cultural space by taking both economic and cultural impacts into account. web URL: http://www.transformations.knf.vu.lt/41b/article/econ
