The purpose of this study was to identify the physical and chemical properties of Indonesian coffee beans for different postharvesting methods after being roasted. Several types of Indonesian export ...coffee, i.e., Gayo Luwak coffee, Wamena coffee, Toraja coffee, Gayo coffee, Flores coffee and Kintamani coffee, were used in the present study. Each coffee has its own aroma and taste according to the location, soil type, and land elevation. The roasting process started with preheating the roasting machine, after which the samples were roasted for about 15 minutes at 215℃ to obtain the medium-to-dark (MTD) roasting level. The physical properties measured included density, mass loss, porosity, water content, and morphology using a scanning electron microscope. The transmittance spectrum was observed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The physical properties of the coffee were successfully measured. The bulk density varied from 0.6 to 0.7 g/cm3, and particle density was about 0.9 g/cm3 for green beans. The roasting process reduced the bulk and particle density to 0.3 g/cm3 on average and 0.8 g/cm3, respectively. The fully-washed condition gave an overlapping spectrum for green and roasted beans, which shows that the roasting process did not affect the spectrum. The results can be used to study the coffee quality resulting from different postharvest processing methods.

Abstract
This paper reports a qualitative inquiry to investigate the application of the Investigative Science Learning Environment (ISLE) approach as a framework for teaching and learning physics. ...The aims of this study are to investigate how ISLE processes are applied, what the perspectives of instructors and students on the ISLE approach are, how the ISLE approach could be possibly applied in the physics courses and other STEM courses in Indonesia. Participants in this inquiry consist of the inventor of ISLE, three ISLE instructors, and students in an ISLE lab session. We used qualitative case study method and narrative data analysis in the process of evaluating data from observations, interviews, and ISLE-based learning materials and publications. It was found that the ISLE approach was applied smoothly in the class and lab sessions. The ISLE instructors are those who believe in the philosophical and epistemological reasoning behind the framework and the importance to nurture students’ scientific abilities. Some students liked the ISLE approach, some didn’t. Those who liked ISLE found that they enjoyed the process of thinking and discussing in learning. It is very likely to apply the ISLE approach in Indonesia for physics courses, but it will be challenging for other subjects.
The study is about a method for enhancing the assessment in e-learning. We study summative assessment that enables teachers or examiners to know if their students have reached an appropriate level of ...knowledge and formative assessment that enables a student to check how well they are performing in learning. This type of assessment takes the form of a more detailed feedback such as in what aspects a student posses strengths as well as where they have weaknesses. We implement a new approach for enhancing assessment in e-learning by building a system that utilizing a user model to capture user’s knowledge of a concept and to keep updating it in their user models. We implement the system by using the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) that were combined with a standard of test called the Question Test of Interoperability (QTI). As the result, more positive and negative feedback can be offered to e-learning users.

In a process of learning, learning media play an important role in improving students' understanding. In this study, a learning medium based on Internet of Thing (IoT) was developed. The IoT is one ...of core development in technology of Industrial Revolution 4.0 era. The learning media developed in this research study utilizing LoRa (Long Range Area) which functions as a remote data sender. The LoRa paired with Arduino connected to sensors and placed in several location within Banda Aceh. LoRa was integrated with Network Thing to store data and could be displayed on the PC. The researchers and students could observe the changes in air quality in relation to the changes in temperature, humidity, and air pressure from the data that have been stored in the Network Thing cloud. The students are motivated in the learning process to find out relationships between air quality and changes to the temperature, humidity, and air pressure. This is preliminary and ongoing research. The early data were collected from interviews with students after the learning process and collecting the results of the observation. Students' interest increases with the integration of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in the learning process. This was demonstrated by students during the learning process. From this learning process, students are also aware of the importance of reducing air pollution. Around 86% of students understand the concepts of subject learned and around 92% of students were motivated and enjoy during the learning.
The Indonesian 2013 curriculum demands that a learning process emphasize three domains, namely attitude, knowledge, and skills. One learning environment that supports the curriculum is the ...Investigative Science Learning Environment (ISLE), which is based on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The ISLE-based STEM approach is a learning approach that encourages students to be active, creative and innovative in conducting observations and experiments on a project. The ISLE-based STEM method can help students solve actual scientific problems through collaborative group activities. The development of worksheets lays an important role in ISLE-based STEM approach. The purpose of this study was to develop worksheets of the ISLE-based STEM by gathering feedback and learning outcomes from grade 10 high-school students in Banda Aceh. This research employed the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) development model. The result of the analysis of worksheet validation by experts reached 3.91, indicating a valid criterion for a worksheet to be used in a learning process. The percentage of students' responses to learning was 85%, indicating positive students' responses to learning using worksheets developed, while the test of learning outcomes after the implementation of ISLE-based STEM approach reached 86%. These results indicate that ISLE-based STEM worksheets can be used for grade 10 high-school students.

Abstract Distinguishing between eggs laid by chickens fed organic versus chemical feed poses a formidable challenge, particularly when relying on eggshell characteristics alone. As such, this ...investigation was undertaken to conduct a qualitative exploration of the eggshell composition in free-range chickens, employing laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to discern varying feed treatments within the samples. To initiate the formation of micro-plasma, a Nd:YAG LIBS system has been utilized as the excitation source. The eggshells used in the study were sourced from seven distinct chicken groups subjected to diverse feeding protocols, including 100% industrial feed, 100% village feed, and its combination, and also along with eggshells from purebred chickens purchased from traditional markets. Based on the spectroscopic analysis, the seven samples utilized in this study exhibit a uniform chemical composition, encompassing both organic and inorganic elements, specifically C, O, H, Ca, Mg, Fe, Al, K, Si, and S.
