Agriculture has always been central to China's cultural and economic development. The traditional calendar used in China to this day tells villagers the best time to sow and harvest, further ...confirming the importance of agriculture in everyday life. Land has always been the backbone of the agricultural sector, which in turn is the cornerstone of China's economy. Over the years, they have ensured national food security and provided livelihoods for large populations. Although the total amount of agricultural land in China is the third largest in the world, for a large area of land, only 0.106 hectares per capita is accounted for, which is far below the world average. Given the pressures of shrinking agricultural land due to economic development, rapid population growth, and urban growth, the Chinese government has developed a series of measures to protect agricultural land and ensure food security. This article is aimed at a detailed analysis of the evolution of agricultural land protection policy in China, an attempt to analyze the reasons for policy change, the measures introduced and their effectiveness. It will also provide experience and inspiration for solving issues related to land resources in Ukraine and can become the basis for cooperation between China and Ukraine in the field of agriculture to jointly address the global challenges of food security.
Summary Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) is an endemic chronic osteochondral disease, which has a high prevalence and morbidity in the Eastern Siberia of Russia, and in the broad diagonal, northern-east to ...southern-west belt in China and North Korea. In 1990's, it was estimated that in China 1–3 million people had some degree of symptoms of the disease, although even higher estimates have been presented. In China, the extensive prevalence peaked in the late 1950's, but since then, in contrast to the global trend of the osteoarthritis (OA), the number of cases has been dramatically falling. Up to 2013, there are 0.64 millions patients with the KBD and 1.16 millions at risk in 377 counties of 13 provinces or autonomous regions. This is obviously thanks to the preventive efforts carried out, which include providing millions of people with dietary supplements and clean water, as well as relocation of whole villages in China. However, relatively little is known about the molecular mechanisms behind the cartilage damage, the genetic and the environmental risk factors, and the rationale of the preventive effects. During the last decade, new data on a cellular and molecular level has begun to accumulate, which hopefully will uncover the grounds of the disease.

Land cover change has been a hot area of research on global ecological change and sustainable development due to its importance in global ecological change. Understanding land cover change trends is ...the basis for rational planning and management of land resources and is of important value for achieving land protection and sustainable development. Land transfer matrix has great value in the research of land cover change, its results are not disturbed by the land cover category and quantity, and the data can be analyzed in different time periods according to the demand. However, the land transfer matrix produced by traditional methods has the problems of long production period and certain requirements for hardware performance. In this paper uses Google Earth Engine to obtain the public land cover dataset of Ukraine and uses raster calculation to quickly construct the land transfer matrix. The matrix data show that the land cover change in Ukraine from 2000-2015 is modest, with a total change of 2.244%. The proportion of cropland decreased and the proportion of Urban and Built-up Lands increased. The results show that the methods can quickly and effectively obtain data on land cover change in the study area and provide assistance in analyzing trends and patterns of land cover change.
Tri-band bandpass filters based on a dual-plane structure with improved band allocation is proposed in this letter. The dual-plane structure is consisting of both a microstrip and a defeated ground ...structure (DGS) slot. The slot with interdigital shape in the DGS is designed to obtain dual-frequency responses and transmission zeros are introduced to split one of the single bands into two. Two design examples with different frequency responses and band allocations are presented. All results obtained from the equivalent-circuit model and full-wave simulation are conformed by measurement.
In the present study, a consortium of two rhizobacteria Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Bk7 and Brevibacillus laterosporus B4, termed 'BB', biochemical elicitors salicylic acid and β-aminobutyric acid ...(SB) and their mixture (BBSB) were investigated for cold and drought stress tolerance in rice plants. After withholding water for 16 days, rice plants treated with BBSB showed 100% survival, improved seedling height (35.4 cm), shoot number (6.12), and showed minimum symptoms of chlorosis (19%), wilting (4%), necrosis (6%) and rolling of leaves. Similarly, BB inoculation enhanced plant growth and reduced overall symptoms in rice seedlings subjected to 0 ± 5 °C for 24 h. Our results imply several mechanisms underlying BB- and BBSB-elicited stress tolerance. In contrast to the control, both treatments significantly decreased leaf monodehydroascorbate (MDA) content and electrolyte leakage, and increased leaf proline and cholorophyll content. Moreover, activities of antioxidant enzymes, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) increased 3.0- and 3.6-fold, respectively. Moreover, expression of OsMYB3R-2, OsDIL, OsDREB1A and OsCDPK13 genes was significantly up-regulated, suggesting that these genes play important roles in abiotic stress tolerance of rice. In addition, bacterial strains Bk7 and B4 were able to produce high amounts of IAA and siderophores, and colonise the plant roots, while only strain Bk7 exhibited the capability to form biofilms and solubilise inorganic phosphate. This study indicates that the BB and BBSB bio-formulations can be used to confer induced systematic tolerance and improve the health of rice plants subject to chilling and drought stress.

We study baryon-baryon scattering by applying time-ordered perturbation theory to the manifestly Lorentz-invariant formulation of SU(3) baryon chiral perturbation theory. We derive the corresponding ...diagrammatic rules paying special attention to complications caused by momentum-dependent interactions and propagators of particles with non-zero spin. We define the effective potential as a sum of two-baryon irreducible contributions of time-ordered diagrams and derive a system of integral equations for the scattering amplitude, which provides a coupled-channel generalization of the Kadyshevsky equation. The obtained leading-order baryon-baryon potentials are perturbatively renormalizable, and the corresponding integral equations have unique solutions in all partial waves. We discuss the issue of additional finite subtractions required to improve the ultraviolet convergence of (finite) loop integrals on the example of nucleon-nucleon scattering in the P03 partial wave. Assuming that corrections beyond leading order can be treated perturbatively, we obtain a fully renormalizable formalism which can be employed to study baryon-baryon scattering.

Integral equations for meson–baryon scattering amplitudes are obtained by utilizing time-ordered perturbation theory for a manifestly Lorentz-invariant formulation of baryon chiral perturbation ...theory. Effective potentials are defined as sums of two-particle irreducible contributions of time-ordered diagrams and the scattering amplitudes are obtained as solutions of integral equations. Ultraviolet renormalizability is achieved by solving integral equations for the leading order amplitude and including higher order corrections perturbatively. As an application of the developed formalism, pion-nucleon scattering is considered.

We study the ground-state octet baryon masses and sigma terms using the covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) with the extended-on-mass-shell (EOMS) renormalization scheme up to ...next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N

= 2+1 lattice quantum chromodynamics (LQCD) results from the PACS-CS, LHPC, HSC, QCDSF-UKQCD and NPLQCD collaborations is achieved. Finite-volume corrections to the lattice data are calculated self-consistently. Our study shows that the N

LO BChPT describes better the light quark mass evolution of the lattice data than the NNLO BChPT does and the various lattice simulations seem to be consistent with each other. We also predict the pion and strangeness sigma terms of the octet baryons using the LECs determined in the fit of their masses. The predicted pion- and strangeness-nucleon sigma terms are
