Cordia verbenacea is a Brazilian coastal shrub popularly known as "erva baleeira". The essential oil from fresh leaves was obtained by hydrodistillation and analyzed by CG/MS. The main components ...were identified as β-caryophyllene (25.4%), bicyclogermacrene (11.3%), δ-cadinene (9.%) and α-pinene (9.5%). In this study, the antimicrobial activity of Cordia verbenacea was evaluated.
The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the essential oil was obtained using the broth microdilution assay (from 512 to 8 μg/ml).
The results showed that the essential oil presented fungistatic activity against Candida albicans and Candida krusei and antibacterial activity against Gram-positive strains (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus) and against multiresistant Gram-negative (Escherichia coli 27), in all tests the MIC was 64 μg/ml. When the essential oil was associated to aminoglycosides (subinhibitory concentrations, MIC/8), a synergic and antagonic activity was verified. The synergic effect was observed to the amikacin association (MIC reduction from 256 mlto 64 μg/ml) in all strains tested.
The essential oil of Cordia verbenacea influences the activity of antibiotics and may be used as an adjuvant in antibiotic therapy against respiratory tract bacterial pathogens.

OBJECTIVES: Assess the profile of use of immunobiological (IMB) in the service of rheumatology of a Health PlansOperator (HPO) located in Fortaleza,Ceara, Brazil. METHODS: This is a descriptive and ...retrospective study. The data was collected from the medical skills performed in the rheumatology service, as well as the revision of patients' charts in use of 1MB from 2012 to 2016. RESULTS: Were analyzed 354 patients, with female predominance, 68.36% (n = 242) and the median of age was 50 years. The pathologies of higher incidence were rheumatoid arthritis with 42.37% (n = 150), ankylosing spondylitis with 39.27% (n = 139) anderythroderma arthritis with 8.76% (n = 31). 487 therapeutic schemes were used during the period. The inhibitors of the tumor necrosis factor (antiTNF) were the most used in relation to the other classes, representing 73.10% (n - 356). The other classes were interleu-kin-6 (12.32%) inhibitors, depletor of lymphocytes B (6.98%); T lymphocyte inhibitor (6.16%); interleukin-17 inhibitor (1.03%); interleukin inhibitor-12/23 (0.41%).The most prominent antiTNF were the infliximab, the adalimumab and the golimumabe representing 21.36%, 19.51% and 11.50% of the use, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The knowledge of the profile and patient care information is the basis for any planning strategy. The high cost of these medicines shows the need for multiprofes-sional auditing to evaluate the correct use and impact that the IMBs possess in the healthcare provider. This is important to plan and offer the best care of the patient and intervene when necessary.

Aims. Our goal is to study the physical properties of the circumstellar environment of young stellar objetcs (YSOs). In particular, the determination of the scattering mechanism can help us to ...constrain the optical depth of the disk and/or envelope in the near infrared. Methods. We used the IAGPOL imaging polarimeter along with the CamIV infrared camera at the LNA observatory to obtain near infrared polarimetry measurements in the H band of a sample of optically visible YSOs, namely, eleven T Tauri stars and eight Herbig Ae/Be stars. An independent determination of the disk (or jet) orientation was obtained for twelve objects from the literature. The circumstellar optical depth could then be estimated by comparing the integrated polarization position angle (PA) with the direction of the major axis of the disk projected onto the plane of the sky. Optically thin disks have, in general, a polarization PA that is perpendicular to the disk plane. In contrast, optically thick disks have polarization PAs parallel to the disks. Results. Among the T Tauri stars, three are consistent with having optically thin disks (AS 353A, RY Tau and UY Aur) and five with optically thick disks (V536 Aql, DG Tau, DO Tau, HL Tau and LkHα 358). Among the Herbig Ae/Be stars, two stars exhibit evidence of optically thin disks (Hen 3-1191 and VV Ser) and two of optically thick disks (PDS 453 and MWC 297). Our results seem consistent with optically thick disks at near infrared bands, which are more likely to be associated with younger YSOs. Marginal evidence of polarization reversal is found in RY Tau, RY Ori, WW Vul, and UY Aur. In the first three cases, this feature can be associated with the UXOR phenomenon. Correlations with the IRAS colors and the spectral index yielded evidence of an evolutionary segregation in which the disks tend to be optically thin when they are older.

Abstract
Introduction:
Monitoring allows students the basic cycle of higher-level courses, principally, a deeper understanding of all content been living in class, in this case, the Human Anatomy ...classes. Through it the student develops various daily activities at the Human Anatomy Laboratory to that add up to the didactic and pedagogical activities required in this process, like the cadaveric dissection. Dissect derives from the Latin meaning to separate, cut, etymologically being equivalent to anatomy. The present study aimed to report the student-monitor experience the discipline of Human Anatomy in cadaveric dissection.
Methods:
The study is an experience report of a qualitative approach, with an exploratory descriptive analysis, whose objective was to describe, in the words of Physiotherapy course monitors, the importance in the dissection technique. For this, has been made the reading for each reporting for the identification of the central issues described by each monitor.
Results:
The reports were obtained in February 2014 soon after the end of the I Course of cadaveric dissection of Upper and Lower Limbs, sponsored by the Human Anatomy Laboratory of the University of Pernambuco, Petrolina, as a process of training to those student-monitors who had been selected for the period between 2014.1 and 2014.2 monitoring.
Conclusion:
It could be perceived that the cadaveric dissection was seen as a way to strengthen the humanization of future health professionals, which resulted in its ethical and social practice, and it has allowed an improvement in teacher-monitor-student relationship.

Introduction:
The neuroanatomy discipline is seen by students as one of the most complex and difficult of the basic cycle in health courses. This is taught with lectures and practical ...classes, where in the last one, the use is made of corpse parts. However, the use of this type of material has been decreasing making it professors and monitors search for new alternatives. One of these alternatives is the manufacture and the use of neuroanatomical models that assist and facilitate the understanding of practical teaching and learning. The study aims to manufacture neuroanatomical models alternative for the practical Neuroanatomy classes.
Materials and Methods:
The study is an action research, exploratory, descriptive, where were made neuroanatomical models in the Human Anatomy Laboratory at the University of Pernambuco, Petrolina, with cheap materials in order to improve learning in practical teaching. The confections of these models were made with polystyrene, biscuit dough, string, colored acrylic paint, ink colored oil, rubberized, cardboard and plaster bandages.
Results:
Were made ten neuroanatomical parts that corresponding to the spinal cord, reticular formation and the dermatomes of the limbs.
Conclusion:
It was observed that the manufacturing of these models is necessary for conducting practical classes being possible elaborate them with quality at low cost, being an alternative in front of real difficulties in obtaining corpse parts and being a strong tool in the teaching and learning of the Neuroanatomy discipline. But regardless of the alternatives utilized, the confection of models will never replace the use of corpse parts.

Aims
Genetic and pharmacological inhibition of mitochondrial fission induced by acute myocardial ischaemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) has been shown to reduce myocardial infarct size. The ...clinically used anti-hypertensive and heart failure medication, hydralazine, is known to have anti-oxidant and anti-apoptotic effects. Here, we investigated whether hydralazine confers acute cardioprotection by inhibiting Drp1-mediated mitochondrial fission.
Methods and results
Pre-treatment with hydralazine was shown to inhibit both mitochondrial fission and mitochondrial membrane depolarisation induced by oxidative stress in HeLa cells. In mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), pre-treatment with hydralazine attenuated mitochondrial fission and cell death induced by oxidative stress, but this effect was absent in MEFs deficient in the mitochondrial fission protein, Drp1. Molecular docking and surface plasmon resonance studies demonstrated binding of hydralazine to the GTPase domain of the mitochondrial fission protein, Drp1 (KD 8.6±1.0 µM), and inhibition of Drp1 GTPase activity in a dose-dependent manner. In isolated adult murine cardiomyocytes subjected to simulated IRI, hydralazine inhibited mitochondrial fission, preserved mitochondrial fusion events, and reduced cardiomyocyte death (hydralazine 24.7±2.5% vs. control 34.1±1.5%, P=0.0012). In ex vivo perfused murine hearts subjected to acute IRI, pre-treatment with hydralazine reduced myocardial infarct size (as % left ventricle: hydralazine 29.6±6.5% vs. vehicle control 54.1±4.9%, P=0.0083), and in the murine heart subjected to in vivo IRI, the administration of hydralazine at reperfusion, decreased myocardial infarct size (as % area-at-risk: hydralazine 28.9±3.0% vs. vehicle control 58.2±3.8%, P<0.001).
Conclusion
We show that, in addition to its antioxidant and anti-apoptotic effects, hydralazine, confers acute cardioprotection by inhibiting IRI-induced mitochondrial fission, raising the possibility of repurposing hydralazine as a novel cardioprotective therapy for improving post-infarction outcomes.
