The effect of isothermal pre-oxidation treatments on the \b{eta}-(Ni,Pt)Al + René N5 system degradation is here reported. The oxidation treatments were carried out from 900 (mostly {\theta}-Al2O3 ...growing conditions) to 1200{\deg}C (mainly {\alpha}-Al2O3 growing conditions) for 5 h, under a purified Ar-stream with a fixed pO2= 1 x 10-5 atm. Results are discussed based on the correlation between the structural, microstructural and chemical properties of the \b{eta}-(Ni,Pt)Al BC showing that pre-oxidation parameters have an important effect on the multi-elemental counter diffusion phenomena along BC. For instance, a significant BC+IDZ thickness increase of 55% at 1200 {\deg}C was observed with respect to as-received sample just after 5 h of oxidation resulting in a severe BC degradation.
Hospital care of patients with acute myocardial infarction involves a series of therapeutic measures and risk stratification which are a must since their efficacy has been clearly demonstrated. The ...aim of this study was to develop an internal program to guarantee and improve the quality of hospital care to acute myocardial infarction patients.
A medical audit was carried out for evaluation. Seven evaluation criteria considered as class I by the guidelines on the management of acute myocardial infarction patients were analyzed in the discharge report of 163 consecutive patients. Following analysis of the results corrective measures were implemented. In the second phase reevaluation of 40 patients was performed to determine the efficacy of the adopted measures.
Following the first evaluation the use of AAS, IECAS and the beta-blockers was found to be correctly indicated in 95, 80 and 72% of the patients, respectively. A strategy of the adequate stratification of risk was carried out and ventricular function was evaluated in 93 and 96% of the cases. Correct hypolipemia treatment was indicated in 54% of the cases with an adequate diet being prescribed in 100%. Three months after the intervention, 40 new patients were evaluated with all the criteria analyzed being fulfilled in 100% of the cases.
The use of evaluation techniques and improvement in the quality of health care provided to cases of acute myocardial infarction allows the determination of the care undertaken and its correction if necessary in order to follow the guidelines recommended for the care of these patients.
Our goal was to evaluate the efficacy of internal medicine consulting (CIM) in primary care (PC) for the care of patients with dyspepsia.
Prospective case-control study of a population of 87,016 ...inhabitants during a 2 years period. We included patients with dyspepsia (319) jointly attended by a family physician (FP) and consulting internists (CI). The CI went weekly to the primary care center (PCC) to attend patients who would have been referred to the hospital outpatient clinic for specialized care (SC). As control group, 775 patients with dyspepsia were randomly and simultaneously chosen among a total of 29,317 first medical referrals during the period of the study.
5.36% of the consultations for SC were patients with dyspepsia (annual incidence of 183 patients/1,000 inhabitants). We observed a significant reduction in: mean time for SC (26.4 days; 22.4-30.4), mean number of tests per patient ordered by SC (0.77; 0.42-1.12), mean time for patient information on the tests ordered by SC (27.3 days; 18.7-35,9), mean time for the resolution of the process (27.3 days; 18.4-36.2) and rate of specialized follow-up visits (25.2%; 18.5-31.9); p < 0.005 in all cases. The resolution rate of the process (37.2%; 25.7-48.7) and the discharge rate (38.7%; 28.9-48.5) were significantly higher for CIM (p < 0.01 in both cases). The referral rate for SC showed a negative correlation (r = -0.97; p < 0.01) with the quality of the management; this rate related to the type of training, age and years of medical practice of the GPs. Satisfaction of patients with the CIM was very high.
The CIM with PC improves the efficacy of the specialized medical care of patients with dyspepsia.

The "Euro-Lupus Cohort" is composed by 1,000 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) that have been followed prospectively since 1991. These patients have been gathered by a European ...consortium - the "Euro-Lupus Project Group". This consortium was originated as part of the network promoted by the "European Working Party on SLE", a working group created in 1990 in order to promote research in Europe on the different problems related to this disease. The "Euro-Lupus Cohort" provides an updated information on the SLE morbidity and mortality characteristics in the present decade as well as defines several clinical and immunological prognostic factors.
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) is called to revolutionise essentially all areas of Astrophysics. With a collecting area of about a square kilometre, the SKA will be a transformational instrument, ...and its scientific potential will go beyond the interests of astronomers. Its technological challenges and huge cost requires a multinational effort, and Europe has recognised this by putting the SKA on the roadmap of the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). The Spanish SKA White Book is the result of the coordinated effort of 120 astronomers from 40 different research centers. The book shows the enormous scientific interest of the Spanish astronomical community in the SKA and warrants an optimum scientific exploitation of the SKA by Spanish researchers, if Spain enters the SKA project.
